An I the only person who quite likes a chat with the barber? My barber when I was a teenager was a perpetually-polonecked Cypriot guy called Andy who looked like a mustachioed Andy Williams - it was a hell of a look, the sort of style that'd make your nan slide off her chair. He was a lovely bloke, Chelsea fan before the NF got involved, and he had a load of old Guinness football books to read while you waited. I genuinely missed him when I grew my hair long!

I hate it, but then I hate any unnecessary socialising at all. I'm currently trying to grow my hair out but even before lockdown I hadn't been to have my haircut for years, just shaved it myself. One less superfluous interaction to deal with :toot:

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

It was a solid 9/10 rear. In the most respectful way possible.

I enjoyed chatting to my old barber if only to moan about how gooseberry fool Birmingham City and Derby County were (are). He was a really nice bloke though.

He was also the station barber so I paid the RAF rate of £6 :datass:

My aunt's a hairdresser, so I haven't been in a barber's chair in like 20 years. Even when I lived away I'd only get a haircut every year or two at Christmas.

It was a good life.

It was so good to go to the pub with my pals and drink too many pints watching the football on Tuesday. The boys are back in town baby. What's COVID?

Same mate. Went to a beer garden yesterday for early afternoon drinking. The taste of draught beer :datass: :datass: Post Covid pub experience is great as well: no more walking to the bar, just order that tasty tasty alcohol straight to the table.

I'm guessing those who like football and whose barber likes football enjoy it much more than the rest of us.

So I tried to book my second vaccination today only to be met by a message online saying that there is no record of which vaccination I had and to call 119. I call 119 and he’s confused for a while, then he realises that the system is not set up for the moderna vaccine and you can only select AstraZeneca or Pfizer :fp: they haven’t thought to include the moderna option

Do you have to sort the second one out yourself then or is this just a special case? I was expecting a second letter to say when.

Amazing. I'm not even sure news websites are reporting such an obviously stupid mistake. Might be Breaking News.

I'm guessing the call didn't resolve it and you'll have to wait a few weeks before their system updates?

The website for booking an appointment (rather than going via the GP etc) let's you book the 2nd vaccine appointment alongside the 1st although there's no option to choose the vaccine you get. You can probably increase the odds of getting an MRNA vaccine if choosing the hospital sites or ultra large vaccine centres like at football stadiums or event arenas.

That's the sort of thing I'd email Private Eye about to get it in the media
