Still testing negative despite wife being positive.

She is basically fine now too, 2 days of tiredness and cold like symptoms but now basically back to normal.

After 2 years and about 3 months, Covid has just entered our household :dread:

Ironically the one person who’s shown a positive test was furloughed throughout the lockdowns and now has time off for Covid (as rightly so their employer doesn’t want them in work), obviously I don’t want Covid but I’m a little surprised I’ve not had it yet, I was working throughout the lockdowns and tested regularly but never got it. They’re only showing mild symptoms so far thankfully (just a slight cough, little bit tired) and the line on the test was quite faint. I’ll be doing a test this evening as I won’t have time to do one before work in the morning, fingers crossed it’s negative.

It's really widespread but thankfully this variant isn't impacting hospital numbers and morbidity rate is very low.

Anyone know the error rate on the tests? Cause I got a negative result this morning but my entire body seems to disagree

Hospital numbers are quite rapidly increasing tbf. Deaths remaining low so far though so that's good news!

My mum just tested positive this morning :(
She had a pretty bad cough yesterday though was testing negative then, but came out with a positive test this morning.

Fortunately she's triple jabbed so hopefully doesn't get worse than a bad cough/cold.

I finally got COVID. Came back from Barcelona a week ago probably caught it on flight home. Had a bit of a sore throat Thursday. By Saturday throat was quite bad but had to go to a wedding. Suspected COVID at the point so did a lateral flow test but it was negative. Got much worse that evening and so I changed plans and came home the following morning. Got worse again the Sunday and Monday but finally seems to be better today. My main symptom was horrendous throat pain. Just constant burning in back of throat with sharp stabbing pains any time I swallowed or coughed. Also had flu-like symptoms and quickly went from boiling hot to freezing cold. The throat thing kept me awake three nights in a row and was pretty horrible. Now I just have a normal sore throat and no temperature or anything, so hopefully that's the end of it.

To quote one of our company directors in the summer of 2020, "Covid is in the rear view mirror" :fp:

It's in the rear view mirror, but it's about to overtake.

When I returned to work a week or so ago, after recovering from Covid, one of my colleagues proclaimed, with genuine surprise, "I didn't even realise Covid was still a thing!".

I was talking to a colleague at work earlier about being worried about flying, and mask wearing on the plane. I think she misunderstood my concerns.

"Oh, don't worry about masks! When I flew out to Australia the other week everyone took their masks off for the meal and no one bothered putting them back on afterwards" :dread: :dread: :dread:

Apparently all GP services are now asking all patients to mask up again.

My other half works for the NHS, and her trust is considering doing the same.

Too late for me though! Tested positive this morning, first time. Yaaaaaaaay.
