Dunno if he did it this time, but there was a guy in Bristol when the pubs opened last year who was featured on the local news. He waited for his favourite Wetherspoons to open and then was pictured sat there by himself with a bottle of Magners.

Saw him on the news (today?), what an absolute fanny. Wasn’t as if he was socialising either, daft bastard was on his own.

It's clearly, objectively ridiculous  but we're assessing it very much at face value rather than considering the overall context of what it must mean to that chap to be able to sit at a pub bench and drink a beer, even if he's still on his own, surrounded by other people.

Can't help but laugh though .

Its obvious he was asked to do it and react for the camera too, but it's just this stupid narrative we've all got to be fed.

Things are back to normal!!!!! Look, my routine is back!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH THE SAME BEER I HAVE AT HOME BUT IN THE SAME SEAT I SIT IN EVERY SINGLE DAY

He's probably been married a while and doesn't have a shed to go and hide in.

Definitely doing a parody video of me opening a packet of crisps when I go to the pub.

I get that, but he could sit on a park bench with a bottle and have the exact same experience, probably for half the price.

I don't agree that a park bench is the exact same experience as a pub bench.

I can't say I'd particularly want to just sit there on my own in close proximity of other drinkers in a pub, but I certainly remember seeing older men doing just that back in the olden pre-pandemic days. Maybe it becomes appealing once you get to a certain age?!

Having a drink in your local with mates or just surrounded by regulars is clearly a warm, comforting experience for many.

The problem is, he's in a beer garden all by himself and it's been framed like it was the beer he was desperate to taste again. And it's poured from a bottle of corona that he could do himself at home
