You're right, I should have worded that better especially as I'm 1 of those 1 in 10

Just heard that the NHS are now recommending GPs to start vaccinating adults living in households with people who are immunosuppressed so hopefully that means I'll be contacted soon.

Apparently research is suggesting that vaccinated people who are immunosuppressed, although much safer, are still not as protected as others in the "vulnerable" group who have been vaccinated. Hence the push to vaccinate households where at least one member is immunosuppressed.

It'll be such a huge relief if my GP contacts me soon.

So we can all have two Covid tests a week. I wonder if this is to lay the groundwork for bringing in the Covid passport early, so those who aren't vaccinated can get a passport by taking the tests?

Not sure how that would work though, as you'd basically be self certifying, and we've already seen how a lot of people scam the Covid jab to jump the queue.

My grandparents had the police knocking on their door the other day, apparently somebody in the row behind theirs had grassed on them for having a big barbecue just before the restrictions lifted.

Somehow Inspector Clouseau didn't gather they'd got the wrong house, given that A: they're 90, B: they can't walk unaided down the steps into their garden, and C: they don't even have a barbecue.

Besides that, they didn't show up until three days after it'd been reported! Where's the use in that?!

Well you're being very mean about the police, but who will you go to when you need someone to knock the wrong door and harass a nonagenarian three days after a neighbour has a technically illegal barbeque? Exactly. Show some respect!

Ignoring the house cock up and unnecessarily giving your grandparents a scare, I guess the idea is to remind people of the restrictions and hope they comply in the future. If they don't have the resources at the time to deal with something, going round after to have a word not the worst thing.

Reminds me of that time my Nannie's neighbour accused her of climbing on the house roof. She was 83 at the time.

Correct Tomous, this is exactly what happens. I have to carry out some of these visits. The emphasis is mainly on advice with enforcement as a last resort.

We went away for the weekend and stayed in a lodge out on its own in the mountains of mid Wales. It was amazing, and you could truly forget about what's going on.
