You'd have to physically restrain me from going to a pub beer garden on a blistering hot day.

I think we'll need a few hot weekends before we get past that point, unfortunately.
strawberry float, if the May Bank Holidays aren't pissing it down they're going to be horrendous.

Signed up to be called if they had spares at the end of the day and had a call today at 4.30pm. Now here's hoping it cures my long covid...

Fingers crossed for you but what's this about an end of day spares list? How does someone sign up to it?

I'm wondering if this is the missed call I had today around that time as I signed up for this kind of thing as well!

It's area specific, I was forwarded one for the Birmingham area by a friend. Left details and had a call this afternoon.
I don't think every NHS Trust does it, I know friends in Cardiff have had luck doing it there.

Essentially access on the spares list is "who you know" then? I can't just go to my local NHS hospital website to register or hover around the entrance like a vaccine scavenger (affectionately used!).
I'm surprised that you got the Oxford vaccine since the concept of spares I thought applied to BioNtech's vaccine as once you open the packaging it's a race against time to use all of the doses in the vial. I didn't think refrigerator vaccines went bad so having leftover doses at the end of the day just means they get used at some stage rather than ending up in the bin.

I think the AZ vaccine still comes in vials of multiple doses and once the vial is opened/seal broken then it can't be put back into refrigeration.
