Absolutely, you can't work from home if you are a manufacturer, in the supply chain as a lorry driver, a taxi or bus driver, work on the wards in a hospital, are employed as a cleaner or work in the hospitality industry, a labourer, a plumber or tradesperson.

:capnscotty:

Actually a lot of plumbers and tradespersons work in a home. :capnscotty:

Can confirm. Check out 'confessions of a plumber' for evidence :capnscotty:

KK wrote:A relatively new website has launched tracking supermarket prices (there used to be a website similar to this a few years ago but it unfortunately closed) called http://www.Trolley.co.uk. Unlike that other site it doesn't easily compare own brand products, so you've got to look through them all manually yourself. Still a very handy website though. For example, did you know Birds Eye Waffles are currently 99p at Morrisons for a box of 18? :datass:

This is a peak KK

Go on admit it, it's your homepage now isn't it?

That’s handy but without Home Bargains and Lidl it’s missing a lot.

Apologies Laga, does seem like a over the top response on reflection.

WFH isn't really an option for a lot of industries and occupations, and its usually the key ones, seeing as they were the key workers during lockdown, so those costs pass on to everyone.

I don't think anybody expects taxi drivers to be able to WFH.

But for people that can, it should be available as standard.

I'd laugh if I couldn't see that happening to some people.

Got a 15% pay rise (and a promotion in October which was a 21% increase then too) so uh

haven't had to make any changes yet. my energy bills will go up etc but I'll still be leaps and bounds ahead of where I was.

I realise this is very very atypical. :shifty:

Just done my weekly food shop and, dang it, prices are still going up. Example: in Tesco I have been taking advantage of their "two packs of ham for £3" these past few months. Today.... BLAM! £3.50. A near 17% rise just like that. Grumble etc.

Odd reaction given that there was a clear caveat in the original post.

speaking as someone who works as a lorry driver in a hospital inside a large office building, i'm shocked at your response :|

Could be a global one also… so Ireland may get dragged in (our current forecast is we won’t but things can change)

Ofgem, the UK energy regulator, is reporting that the energy cost price cap, currently around £1,900, will be increased to around £2,800 in October.

A strawberry-floatin' near 50% increase :x .

:dread: :dread: :dread: .

Edit: Dang it, Cutty! By seconds! .
