The gap between retail and wholesale prices, excluding VAT, is the widest since the RAC started monitoring them in 2013.

Guess we've got a Tory government for the foreseeable future then. Oh joy.

I'll keep voting Green I guess

I'd still prefer Starmer over the Tories, but it's not much of a choice.

Labour about to sink in the polls if they consider Gordon Brown too radical.

It's going to get to the point where they might as well set the cap at £1billion as nobody will be able to pay anyway.

Labour turning their back on nationalisation and trade unions :fp:

Starmer dropping his original pledges and commitments one by one and turning into a slightly more palatable version of the Tories. That is our choice at the polls :fp:

Guys, we're deep into a 4D chess game here - I'm sure when we're closer to election time Starmer's genius tactics will become clear... :dread:

The projected price cap now seems to be changing so quickly that even if direct debit payments were hugely increased and we somehow paid it, within days they'd be out of sync and we'd be in debt again anyway.

I don't want to look at my electric account as I think I'm already several hundred pounds in debit - not because of non-payment, but because my current direct debit amount hasn't covered the bills.

I saw someone's projected energy costs on reddit. 75p / kWh day rate on electricity, 49p / day standing charge.

Standing charges are kinda bollocks aren't they?

I can't see how they aren't punishing low usage households

Are there battery packs available that you can charge that take normal plugs? Not just little USB batteries, but bigger proper ones so i could plug in say a monitor or a telly?

Uhm, I'm not sure, Curls. I wonder if the cost of using such a charger would be cheaper than using mains electric?

You can run an extension cord from your neighbours plug socket into your living room and plug the telly into that? Cost effective solution.
