Looking for your tips plz.

I'm wanting to offer a service as a side job. To that end, I need a website.

Nothing fancy - one professional, modern looking page with explanation text, CTA, references/recommendations, and contact details would do.

I'm thinking an existing Wordpress template would be able to do the job. Is this the best route to go down?

Price is a key factor - wordpress + a domain name would be the cheapest way to do this I believe but I may be missing something. Any help appreciated!

If it is going to be a straightforward website with it's main purpose being presenting information and contact details, then a template-style website will be your best bet. It will reduce the total cost significantly. As much as it pains me to say it (since I used to do it as a side-gig) unless you are looking for a customised design/layout, e-commerce features, or other specific requirements, then you are best going for one of the DIY template-style offerings. I can't offer any specific advice on which is best these days I'm afraid, as it's been years since I looked into it.

WordPress should be fine for what you're after. Free hosting and the only cost would be the annual domain fee.

This reminded me of one of my old sites, and OH MY GOD. They still host a website I created on there back in 2002! :shifty:

You can make a pretty cheap website using Amazon S3 and might be worth looking into although I doubt it'd be cheaper than Wordpress though.

You can’t say that, then not link to it.

Hahaha, no, I'm not sure that I can stand by the content this many years down the line! Anyone can find it on Google, you just need to remember the name of the site I used to host my Gamesradar 1,5001st post spectacular on, all the way back in 2002! :slol:

I'd say just go with wordpress, it does what you need and every conceivable question is a quick search away

I've heard Microsoft Frontpage is a good tool to use.
