Latest Grand Prix is really good, loads of new characters and a new mode. I wonder how long Beenox will do these Grand Prixs?

Do most people play this online? I ask because I didn't hear anything about how cheaty the offline is

Never bothered personally.

I've had about 10 races and been pipped at the post in at least 4 of them. If that's how the game's going to challenge me, by being cheap and frustrating, then I'll cut my losses now and move on.

Up to 82% on my adventure mode file, finally made a start on the last world and the trophy grand prix.

Edit:

Platinum Relic and CTR Token obtained for Hot Air Skyway.
Platinum Relic and CTR Token obtained for N.Gin Labs (and strawberry float me was the relic tough).
CTR Token obtained for Cortex Castle.

Got 101% on this last week. All platinum relics, all CTR token, all grand prix race trophies and Nitros Oxide beaten both times.

Fun game, 8.5/10. If I had already been invested in the Crash world prior to playing this I'd probably have given it a 9.

Got this for Christmas. Just beat Oxide first time. Adventure mode is cool, went for classic mode for the authentic experience. But god damn this game is hard compared to Mario Kart. It's cool tho. Haven't got any DLC/updates yet tho since my Switch is full.

Just wondering, anyone know anything about the competitive scene? Wondering if that's actually any differences within character classes. Looks like any of the 'advanced' characters are the best way to go

The heavy class is the best (think it's speed?)

Turning is the worst one.

Good thing is you can use whatever class on whatever character now!

So is this more like Diddy Kong racing than Mario Kart? All this talk of Adventure mode is intriguing....

Yup pretty much. It makes for a much more interesting single player experience, with clever use of the tracks. Almost like a puzzle game at parts.

I wish Mario Kart brought back the mission mode from DS

I’ve just got Mario Kart on the switch and (unless I’m blind) the lack of a story/adventure mode is really off putting for me personally. I don’t have the desire to just play cups

I suck at the time trials. I never know whether it's worth going for the time boxes. I'm assuming some are essential while others are just a tease. But I'm just getting the normal relic. Somehow got gold on one level, but yeah, getting platinum on them all will be tricky... Otherwise everything else is done. Will try download the updates later.

Mario Kart's single player is in desperate need of re-inventing. MK8's is barely different to what Super Mario Kart did 20 years before it.

To get the platinums you need all the boxes as it deducts 10 seconds off your time at the end.

Easiest one is Tiger Temple, maybe try that one first.

Getting all the boxes helps but it's not necessary to platinum a lot of tracks. Sometimes it feels harder going for all the boxes than a combination of getting a lot of them and just driving well to get a plat.

I was able to get the non-Adventure levels easy least but the ones in Adventure were markedly harder.
