This song is absolutely amazing, and so unique for R.E.M.

I was driving through awful stormy weather with this song on once, suited the mood perfectly.

Having a total Pantera revival. Domination. A million times better than Metallica.

Drive Soundtrack. Listen to Mogwai's latest album for more 80s but modern-esque goodness.

Don't know what made me think of them. Not listened to the Duke Spirit for literally years. Still good gooseberry fool though.

Excellent album, not quite as good as my favourite(The Hawk is Howling) but really good. It has the best song name I've ever seen on it as well - George Square Thatcher Death Party  . I approve of Pantera, Kyuss and Mogwai on the same page.

There's not really a bad Mogwai album, but I'd have to say the Hawk is Howling is probably my least favourite. Scotland's Shame and I'm Jim Morisson, I'm Dead are amazing, though.

If I had to pick a favourite, it'd probably by Happy Songs for Happy People, but the fact that most of their best songs are spread out across their albums makes it hard to choose. The new album's decent though. White Noise is a great tune.

Top 5 Mogwai songs, anyone? I reckons maybe:

2 Rights Make 1 Wrong
Killing all the Flies
Yes! I am a Long Way From Home
Friend of the Night
Scotland's Shame

Ok so I've given the new Enter Shikari album a couple of play throughs, and despite the horrific overuse of the dubstep breakdown bollocks, it actually manages to kick a fair amount of arse. Vastly improved from their second album.

White Noise is excellent, and I also really like Death Rays. It's difficult to choose a favourite Mogwai album but The Hawk is Howling is the one that really got me into them so I hold it with a special regard. I can't talk about Mogwai without another big thanks to Henke, who dropped some knowledge on me last year by selling me his spare Mogwai ticket when they played Edinburgh. The man is like a God-King in human form.

Top five songs is equally difficult, and a few of yours are in my possible list; we have similar Mogwai tastes it seems! Off the top of my head:

Scotland's Shame
Friend of the Night
Kids Will Be Skeletons
Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home
I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead

What were they like when you saw them in Edinburgh, man? I've seen them twice, and they were too really different experiences.

Saw them in Liverpool and they weren't really all that great, although they played You Don't Know Jesus, which was awesome and a real surprise. Them saw them at the Barrowlands in Glasgow and it was AMAZING. One of the best gigs I've ever been to. 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong was one of the best tunes I've ever heard live.

I've seen them twice as well. Once they were in the final slot on the Sunday night of TITP(Not headlining, the Pet Shop Boys demanded an earlier slot with a full headline set because they didn't want to go up against Blur :? ), and they were excellent, played everything I wanted to hear and I loved it. In Edinburgh they played a lot of stuff from their new album, but finished with Mogwai Fear Satan which was mind blowingly awesome, and again were generally outstanding. I was desperately looking for a Barrowlands ticket when they played just before Christmas there but I couldn't get one, but I've heard from a couple of people who went that it wasn't so great, they had equipment problems and weren't as good as before.

Mogwai are the best band I've ever seen live. Best five songs:

Mogwai Fear Stan
Auto Rock
Moses? I'm Amn't
Mexican Grand Prix
Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home
