Do you need quick reactions in the battles or are they relatively slow paced?

I was going to try playing the PSP sequel but the battle system looks a bit too physically demanding for my hands.

I've got plenty of Turn-based RPGs to play first though, especially now I've got PS2/PSP emulation up and running on my PC.

It's turn based like Xcom , but you move people into position in real time, so if you move one person from cover to cover you do that with the stick, then press a button to choose your action once you're there. I think you'd be fine.

So just played 2 player Co-op on Magicka on the PC

It's absolutely bonkers and a fair few accidental (and some not so accidental :hmm: ) friendly kills.

My favorite was; Big Enemy baring down on my companion, I fully charge a +5 Earth Bolder...and fire it in a moment of heroic glory!...Only for it to glance off the enemy and hit my companion full in the face for a 5k overkill and he exploded in a shower of blood.... ....

I'm certain it wouldn't be so amusing with randoms, but with a friend on Skype it's really good fun. The story is actually quite amusing as well with a lot of references/jokes to pop culture.

It's a little annoying to lose weapons on death, and most of the spells seem to intricate to cast on the fly - but the basic elemental stuff gives you plenty of options.

Not sure it's got massive long term appeal/replay, but enjoying our run through (is any of the DLC worth getting, predicting the upcoming Steam sale)

DmC - getting near the end of this. Have to admit when I first started this, almost gave up on it as I wasn't keen and felt the graphics were quite poor. Actually think this is pretty good and my initial issue with the graphics was due to the style of the game rather than an issue.

Super Mario Galaxy

Getting pretty pissed off with the spin move in this. The use of the wii remote in general just causes annoyance rather than adding anything good to the game. It'd be so much better with just a normal controller.

Unusually for a Mario game the camera is pretty poor too. There have been so many occasions where I've wanted to move it, but it doesn't let me, and it just gives me a shitty angle where I can see bugger all. Pretty frustrating.

Puppeteer.

I'm really enjoying it. I've finished the first three Acts today. Ipthe platforming is good, the writing and world are brilliant, and it's easily one of the best looking games I've ever played.

I'm exploring places in Dark Souls 2. I beat the Jabba Hut thing in Earthen Peak, and explored a little of the Grave of Saints and The Gutter (I think). Last thing I did was get killed by the Rat Vanguard. There's a bonfire right beside them so I don't even care. I'll probably have a crack at it tonight. Still haven't been back to the Gargoyles yet. That is my current sticking point.

Great game, not as good as Dark Souls, but is still as addictive as that game.

I've beaten Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on Wii U VC and my copy of Star Fox Command has arrived, so I'm playing through that one.

I'm grown to admit that no Starfox game can match Lylat Wars - they weren't amazing but I still loved them, they were fun enough. However the problem with Command is that it forces users to use touchpad, while D-pad + buttons would've been better alternative. Makes fighting bosses bit bitch. I remembered really struggling with later levels back in day so I'm not looking forward to that bit. Still on original path though so will be while before I can do other paths.

Ah well, I'm enjoying it for what it is, rather than Starfox 64 successor. Hopefully new Starfox game will be that or at least better than Star Fox Assault (which I also liked but also very disappointed with it)

Super Mario 3D World on Wii U. I love this game, so much fun and a hell of a lot of content. I have finished the main game with all stars, stamps and gold flags; I've finished the first 2 bonus worlds with all those too and I'm currently part way through doing the same with the 3rd bonus world.

Some of these extra levels are pretty effing hard I must say!

I've just started Witcher 2 like about seven hours ago (with break in middle of the session) and just have stopped playing it right now :shifty: I've never completed first game - I was enjoying it up until the swamp bit where I just gave up after few attempts... but I went "strawberry float it" and decided to start second game. After few impressions that it wasn't good as original (I far enjoyed the start of Witcher 1 & the first chapter's town/sidequests more) but now I'm really liking it. Can't say much on combat front though as I've put it on easiest difficulty but I might do another playthrough - I just want to explore the world atm.

I just beat the Gargoyles in Dark Souls 2. Used a club for the first time, killed them with it on my first attempt. Was a fun fight, using a different weapon was nice. I'm usually just a sword and shield guy.

I also beat the Rat Vanguard in the grave of saints, cleared the poison in Earthen Peak and found Sinners Rise. I'm making some progress with this, can't wait to get tore in over the weekend.

Just started inFamous 2nd Son. I've only played it for about 20 minutes, but graphically, quite impressive. The colours are very vibrant and the graphics are a marked improvement over last gen. So far though it doesn't feel like an inFamous game, but time will tell...

Black Mesa. Feels really weird, kinda giving me motion sickness. And Gordon moves way too fast.

I've got back into Fez on the PS4. Despite all the baggage of how good/evil Phil Fish is or isn't, the game itself is a marvel - I love the exploration, the puzzling, the graphical design, the sound and just the sheer creativity of the game.

My brain can't understand the seemingly obtuse mapping system.. but the abundance of tiny pleasing details and the many lightbulb moments as I edge a little further into the game make it all worthwhile.

Fez - short name, classic game.

Batman: Arkham Asylum.

It's telling me i'm only 44% of the way through but I think that must include collectibles because it feels like i'm nearing the end now. I've just defeated Killer Croc and made the cure for Titan before Ivy's Plants have taken over the Batcave. Does anyone know roughly how long i've got left?

Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate (PS4 and Vita)

Started on Vita and finally got into it after the first few stages. Had a go on PS4 version to kill a few minutes and  It looks lovely for such a basic looking game.
I also noticed gameplay differences, like on this one stage I had to deal with ~50% more enemies in one section of the stage, that and their movement through water added a element of danger that isn't in the Vita version.
FYI: cloud upload option is tucked away in options.

You're not far off the end IIRC, maybe an hour or two at most. The percentage total does include collectables btw but you can continue after you've beaten the main game to find them all. They're not too difficult for the most part, there's just a few Riddler challenges that are a bit dodgy.

Killed the Lost Sinner and The Rotten in Dark Souls 2. The former was a first attempt, the latter, four or so deaths. The hardest boss so far for me.

Made it to The Old Iron Keep. This is more like it! Made quite a bit of progress with this today.

Me, too.Picked it up for £28 in CEX. I haven't played much, either, so far, but I'm not blown away by the graphics, tbh. Everyone seems to want to believe this is the best-looking PS4 game yet, but for my money Killzone still has it. I haven't seen anything else on PS4 that comes close. Killzone is a game I still want to just look at, never mind play.

What shall I play next? Finish Tomb Raider, start Uncharted 3, start Arkham City, finish Borderlands 2, finish Gears of War 3 or finish Shadow of the Colossus?
