Tearaway- A bit disappointed really. It has some lovely moments, looks amazing and is easily Media Molecule's best game, but large chunks of the game leave me a little bored. A 7 or 8 so far.

Guacamelee- This is great. The cross-save features are excellent, and it has been ages since I've played a Metroidvania. Looks brilliant, some excellent writing and very fun to play. A great PS+ title.

It's good.

The real grind comes if you want to see both endings as you will have to grind from evil to good (or vice versa) and it is pretty slim pickings finding people to kill/save at that point in the game.

It's not really grind, once you've seen one ending you can start new game and work on other karma bar. The game even knows this, as at end of second playthrough with different alignment it praises you for beating it again.

About to start Beyond Two Souls... I liked last two games but I'm not feeling positive about me liking this one... ach well.

Losing the will to play assassins creed 3

Currently on a mission informing people that some badass beer swilling cockneys from sarth landon are coming to strawberry float their gooseberry fool up.

I'm having to cart Timothy around whilst he constantly ask what I'm doing or he will be telling me to get on the horse, or telling me to watch out for the cockneys even though there are none in the area :fp:

Maybe I'd get on the horse if the stallion would have the balls to go across the river rather than the other way where the cockneys are. Dick.

Final Fantasy VIII has just appeared on Steam. Never even knew it was getting a re-release.

The ending elevated it for me. I thought there was a definite lull in the second act, but it picks up in the closing stretch and the final scenes are lovely.

What mechanics do, to you? The head-swapping stuff is completely wasted, they're just glorified keys with a cute animation but no functional differences. It's a decent concept that the game entirely fails to make the most of.

The massively indulgent cutscenes, to me, are deliberate. It's sort of like, a nudge towards melodramatic theatrics. And given how everything happens on a stage, with an 'audience', it works. Even the characters get fed up of it, in a great sequence in Act 2.

Yeah, if characters in a game are talking about getting fed up with the interminable dialogue, then you can be sure most of the audience feels the same way. In the same way as parodying game systems by simply doing them and pointing out how terrible they are is bad satire.

Buffalo wrote:Still playing Puppeteer. Since Canton didn't have the manners to reply to my post, I can safely say that this game is excellent.

Nothing to do with manners, I simply didn't see your reply until now.

Started Uncharted 3 today, though I think there's something up with my copy. The loadings are really awful.

Which is odd as I bought it (GoTY) brand new this year...

Annnd it's all sorted, well sorta. Seems to shutter in some places but it's playable enough for normal (well, hard difficulty) playthrough. On Chapter 8; Chapter 7 was pretty amazing at the end

It might be my mind playing tricks with me though but the people's faces look bit odd compared to last two games :?

The loading times are always awful in Uncharted 3 when you boot the game up.

And I do agree that it doesn't look "right" but it's just a minor thing and it doesn't spoil the game. It's a bit easy compared to the first two Uncharted games but that could just because I knew how to play it proper. Still have three frustrating parts though... I still remember them very well!

Goddamn, I need a new Uncharted game!

How much time do you people have? Playing the game through entirely again to see the other ending? I just went back to the save point before the end, changed to evil and then watched the evil ending.

Yes?

If you're a trophy whore, then that option isn't ideal as the evil powers would be locked after you've selected the good powers thus you would have to start a brand new game.

And there's the evil karma specific missions which will be forever locked if you've done all the good karma missions as well.

The walking dead episode 4. Nearing the end of the episode I think. Genuinely impressed by characterisation and narrative never letting up or faltering. Just as in the last there was a scene that got to me emotionally and I constantly feel tense and concerned for the characters. Every episode truly builds on the last and is more substantial than I anticipated; this really does have the depth of a decent tv series yet with player interaction that engages the player and really works.

Killzone SF campaign. I haven't had chance to delve into it properly but I'm hoping to today. Yesterday I happily redid the section the game had thrown me back to and in taking my time also had to deal with respawning enemies but I didn't care. I'm enjoying the game a lot. It just has a certain feel to it for me - I love the owl, swapping between what I want it to do to suit the situation and directing it with the touchpad (which feels cool :datass: ), distracting enemies tactically with it and taking out a whole bunker, the look of the game is jaw dropping at every turn, the feel and sound when shooting at enemies, the narrative whilst not really the reason I'm enjoying it so much does it's job and doesn't detract from the fun I'm having. I get that it's not anything special, as others playing have said, but I think for quite a few of us we didn't expect it to be anything more than a fps romp with a few new tricks up it's sleeve, an interesting makeover of the killzone franchise (it got me back) and quite the looker. It's the perfect next gen launch title to get your teeth into whilst showcasing what we can expect from the console in the years to come. And best of all I'm having a lot of fun with it too.

Tried out Warframe and DC Universe or whatever it is. DC's character creation was pretty cool but the intro section you have to play a real bore, made worse by the fact I was signed out of psn and shot back to the beginning of it. Warframe also annoying told me every control before I could run around for a reason or leave that bloody room without appearing back in it.

The game is pretty short, though. It's also fairly easy so it's possible to blitz through the whole game with just story missions and mop up the side-quests later on with powers you got.

That and I lack job ;_;

Still playing Uncharted 3, on Chapter 14. It is fairly easy compared to second game in series (which is way easier than first...) but I really enjoy it, loved whole of Chapter 13.

Pikmin 3. The new DLC maps are amazing. Really tough to get gold/platinum, but I'm enjoying trying. Feels like two games in one - campaign has such a different pace and feel, while the missions are all about effective multitasking against the clock.

Batman: Arkham Origins. A lot better than what some people were saying, easily as good as City. The map is better, the grappling is better, the voice acting is on par, the level design is great. Still trying to shoehorn too many villains in it though.

Uncharted 3 is utter guff. Drake walks like he is pissed and bounces off stuff.

Currently playing battlefield. The Sp is a right chore. It's not even exciting, the boat mission should and could have. Even epic but it was toss. Will jump into the online when it's fixed.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Currently playing Bioshock infinite and having a bit of trouble keeping up. I'm about and hour and a half into it and they really ramped up the action quickly. Set pieces flying past me before I can realise what is going on, things that seem like they're meant to be important go by in a flash. I was at a raffle, someone noticed something that was a symbol on my hand (which I'm not sure or not, but is it a plot point that the mark wasn't there before?) and everyone was attacking me. I was going from place to place after that. I guess my character is looking for a young girl, but I don't understand how he knows where to look. I'm enjoying it for the most part, but I feel like I've missed about a half of the story.

Also the world is so bright and vibrant, I find it difficult to figure out what's important and what isn't. And gun play is quite fast paced, only just getting used to it. Now I can posses people it's getting quite fun, and I'm getting used to where the melee button is. (V, really? It's so far away)

Guys am I doing something wrong with Killzone: Shadow Fall? The past three times I've loaded it up now I've started from the bit where you have to use the OWL to beat the guys up at the bottom of the cliff face, and got to planting the C4 to blow the crash site up, and each time I've thought "gosh, I must have got far enough now to have got a checkpoint, I'm bored, let's go on Contrast for a bit", turned it off, and turned it back on the next day to have to start from the cliff bit.

The checkpoints can't be that bad in a next-gen flagship, can they? I'm doing something wrong, surely.
