The ending elevated it for me. I thought there was a definite lull in the second act, but it picks up in the closing stretch and the final scenes are lovely.

It really did, a beautiful ending.

I changed my approach too, blasting through it as opposed to looking for all the hidden treasures, but it's a wonderful Vita title. I wasn't sold on designing content, but the core game is great.

Skyrim - Got the Legendary edition in the steam sales. Its pretty good, huge depth and nice world. However as with Bethesda games, navigating the world map is a pain. I don't want navigational puzzles to get from one place to the next. Due to the mountains its frustrating having to trek massively off route to find the "correct" path to take. That spoils the "go anywhere" nature of an open world game. Now I'm levelling up a bit the combat feels better. I'm trying for a stealthy Archer wood elf.

Overall its made me realise how much more I prefer Fallout in theme and settings. Traditional fantasy is ok but not really gripping. I cant be bothered to read the books and learn about the world history. Whereas Fallout I genuinely enjoy learning about the end of the world.

So Yes great game but give me fallout 4 already! And no strawberry floating puzzles to get from A to B (subways :fp: )

The past three times I've loaded it up now I've started from the bit where you have to use the OWL to beat the guys up at the bottom of the cliff face, and got to planting the C4 to blow the crash site up, and each time I've thought "gosh, I must have got far enough now to have got a checkpoint, I'm bored, let's go on Contrast for a bit", turned it off, and turned it back on the next day to have to start from the cliff bit.

The checkpoints can't be that bad in a next-gen flagship, can they? I'm doing something wrong, surely.

Not for that particular level, nope. But I think checkpoints are spaced out a fair bit in this. So much so that I've so far completed one level per session because I didn't want to risk replaying certain bits.

I'm starting to feel that way about it. I desperately want to start playing AC BF but I want to finish this first even though it's starting to drag now. I think I probably would have ditched it in favour for AC if not for the fact I'm playing some amazing games on Vita.

Uncharted 2 still. Just gone from a bit on a train to a monastery somewhere. I was a bit worried that those demon things would be in the game to stay but thankfully they disappeared as soon as they arrived. A bit bored with it now though as it's all very samey. New area, loads of bad guys to kill before progressing and doing the same thing slightly higher up. A bit of a disappointing Chapter as I was hoping to finish the game today but it's put me off playing. Do I have much further to go? Last thing I did was climb up another collapsing bridge with that blonde woman after sniping a bunch of dudes that was on said bridge before the weight of me and Blondie broke it.

Uncharted described in one sentence.

Still love it though!

Started LA Noire. Not sure what to think of it just yet. The faces are very well done.

Enjoyed LA Noire, but it's one of these games where you only want to play through once then that's it. Never really wanted to re-play it; one time was enough.

I'm at the end of assassins creed 3.
They aren't by half dragging this out.
I was supposed to find the ultimate bad ass on a boat but he wasn't there, now looking for him on the docks,I wonder
if he will get away & I'll have to find him elsewhere :fp:

I just want to finish, surely it can go on for much longer.

Edit: yay. finally.

Finished Broken Sword 5 around 3am, absolutely loved it, feels like a true third in the series and can't wait for the second episode. It did feel rather short though 8 and a half hours without ever being massively stuck is pretty good, kind of easy. If you played the first two, you will really enjoy it.

Finally finished Killzone Vita, it was enjoyable but I won't ever go back to play it. A game riddled with some poor design choices and quite buggy at times, emotionless characters with shockingly bad voice acting stood out too much for my liking. The gun play was pretty good but gun variety was weak as they all felt the same, not having the ability to attach scopes and silencers forced me to use rubbish weapons, horrible design.

I think the worst thing about Killzone Vita was the checkpointing, it reset checkpoints if you quit the game so I had a horrible feeling of forcing my way through a mission or being stuck with that game and couldn't play anything else.

Going to replay Broken Sword 5 over the next week with my girlfriend, I really enjoyed that game

When I eventually finished KZ SF I was going to mark it down one point. This is because the only thing alternate approaches to levels offer is a slight delay in when you make your position known and have to endure another firefight. So it was going to get around a six. Unfortunately, I have now found something else to mark it down by another point; chapter 7 is glitched. You're asked to blow open a hatch to gain access to another part of the level, as you approach this newly created exit a rope magically appears and you automatically repel down it. Only sometimes the magic rope doesn't appear at all, and your only option is to RESTART THE ENTIRE strawberry floating LEVEL.

I'm never buying another Killzone game ever again.

I enjoyed it more on a second playthrough, mainly because I was more used to the interviewing mechanic and made fewer errors. I still found the late game interviews infuriating though.

Just finished a game of Papers, Please with 298 passports processed. That's crazy to think that in 3 hours this afternoon I've checked that many passports.

Bit disappointed though as I was doing really well and the ending I got was crap. I was supposed to be looking out for a certain person to let them through but I must have missed them and had them detained.

Got thrown in jail for it. :fp:

Started Dishonored as left my PS3/Wii U back at my sis' place and I'm really enjoying it. I'm going to take my time exploring the areas but I don't think I'll be trying for stealth/no kills of any kind, I'll just use what I can/have as I go through the whole game as I'll play through it again anyway.

Tried Binding of Issac again and nope it's not for me. It's decent, but I hate the look of Flash games. Yeah I'm picky.

And playing it more. It's actually so good, I feel there's lot of options where I can do the mission and there's always fun sense of exploring around finding cash, upgrades and such while killing guards. I decided to
not kill the first target, but rather, put him in chair and used mark rod thingy on him 8-) Before that I decided to save someone's uncle by just breaking the glasses then when they were at table I put both to sleep, and threw the uncle into bin... then came back for the target.

Fun

LA Noire is actually not too bad. I don't like driving everywhere, but then I realized you can skip that. Feels like Phoenix Wright with an asshole main character.

One weird thing is the dead naked chicks in some of the cases. Kinda makes me feel uncomfortable. Which I guess is the point, really.

Mighty Switch Force! (3DS)

JUSTICE SERVED!!

I love it. Nice to play a game which introduces new concepts and lets you work it out for yourself. Soundtrack is great as well.

I can't get past the 6th day as I struggle to process enough people in time to get paid enough to feed the family/pay rent.

The second game is more of the same. Which is not really a bad thing.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, with the Clan Quest Mod installed

Still one of the best RPGs ever made. Apart from the janky combat and dodgy end section it's almost exactly the sort of game Bethesda should be looking at and thinking "You know what, let's scale down the size of our games and aim for something like this." It's actually possible to play a role in this role playing game, one that isn't dictated by a red or blue meter telling you how evil or good you are, or one that solely involves taking orders from dead eyed mannequin NPCs.

The characters here, from regular companions to one-off conversations, are actually characters. They ooze personality, they have likes and dislikes and, unlike any other game I've played since, they act. Say something an NPC doesn't like and their lips will curl into a grimace and they'll shoo you away. Flirt and a mischievous smirk will play on their lips. Say something funny and they'll throw their head back in laughter. It's a million miles away from the soulless quest giving machines of Skyrim.

Such a shame. :(
