Rayman Origins (Vita)

I've unlocked the first Ghost stage. Should the game have worked it magic on me by now or is that still to come? I don't dislike the game but it's pretty much what I expected it to be; a very pretty, "zany" platformer which fails to properly hook me.

I'll carry on playing it for a while yet anyway.

Think I'm near end of Tomb Raider, but still got some missed stuff to do in early areas.

Honestly I love it. At first I wasn't too keen on idea of the game since I really wanted sequel to Underworld (having loving Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld) and I felt it was going to be Uncharted-y which I enjoy too, but I don't want another Uncharted game. Turns out it's much better than I thought. Really liking the current Lara Croft and the combat is rather fun, but I loved the climbing/jumping. It also looks generous.

Brilliant stuff.

It looks pretty but is kinda dull to play. The 2 difficulties are too extreme, either too easy or too difficult.

I know what you mean, i'm playing on the first difficulty setting (legend?) and its pretty mindless just press square and flicking the left stick in different directions

Do the levels become more interesting as you progress? That first bit was just hold right and keep going through different screens until I reached the boss

Really alternating between two Lego games, Marvel Super Heroes on the PS4 and Harry Potter Years 5-7 on the PS3. Good for short burst gameplay when the free time I have right now is pretty much limited.

The story mode is pretty much done for the Marvel one, so it's just going around the overworld map to obtain all the character tokens, gold bricks and vehicle tokens before I move back to the story mode in free play mode to obtain all the collectibles. Would say that this is up there with the best Lego games.

Still going through the story mode in Harry Potter Years 5-7. Perhaps one of the weakest Lego games but that's due to its age as the improvements in recent Lego games obviously isn't present.

Lego games.

The navigation becomes a little bit more varied, as in looking at the map is actually needed.
It works really well as a handheld game, I usually do an act per character before turning off.

My kids are playing Disney Infinity.

The reason I mention it was that they just spent an age filling up a huge area in their world with fireworks then set them all off. It was quality!

Playing Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (PS2) on my PC via PS2 emulator.

Other than PS1-quality graphics, it's pretty good so far. Find it bit tough as there's enemies who'll be able to flat-out kill me in few seconds easily if I'm not careful and the magic system is bit different from what I'm used to but it's still Ys quality gaming

Tearaway

Ditched Rayman Origins. I'm sure it's a good game but it just hasn't hooked me at all and so feels like a chore. Glad I only spent a few quid on it. Tearaway on the other hand is pretty much the opposite and I'm loving every second of it.

Played a bit more of Muramasa Rebirth and i'm liking it a lot more now, i've done the first 2 chapters of the boy and the first chapter of the girl so far!

Is there much point to the forge section other than trying to collect all the demon blades?

Was playing more of Ys The Ark of Napishtim on emulator, really liking it more now. I've just got second sword and I can hold my own in battles with ease now.

Still don't like the graphics it used, would've rather them to stick with mostly 2D, but other than that it's great. Gonna play Layton 2 on bed now though :)

Attack stats! Various buffs (buff 8-)) and upgraded sword art skills.

Apart from the bosses, Muramasa feels so empty and repetitive. I am not sure it would have attracted much attention had it not been for its visuals.

It is that. Great for handhelds, if you're after 20-30 blasts, but other than that...
There's loads of combat moves, so I bet it's interesting on the hard difficulty.

Yeah playing on hard would be good if you know the combat system inside and out! I agree though, its the visuals that impress more than the game itself

Metroid Prime 2. Just got the second suit from the Amorbis boss fight. About to head into the bog area.

Dark Aether is so grim and oppressive. I love it.

Decided to give The Last of Us another go yesterday originally I didn't really enjoy it and stopped about half way through but this time round I'm absolutely loving it. It's definitely a game you have to play for a number of hours at a time and not a fragmented play through like I did originally because it is story driven. It looks absolutely fantastic and the game play is some of the very best I've encountered on the PS3.

Been playing a couple of brainless shooters of late.

Fuse (PS3 version) - picked this up for just £7 in my local Morrisons yesterday. Good-looking game and plays well, developed by Insomnia (Morrisons also had the 360 version available for £7).
Syndicate (PC version) - very similar to Fuse in as much as it's just another good-looking brainless shooter, but has some fun mechanics of its own and a funky overbright future-noir setting. Developed by Starbreeze.

Both enjoyable, if just mildly diverting games - but both cheap as chips and fairly solid shooty fun.

Skryim

Completed Dawnguard (which was okay) and then picked up my quest to get the Oblivion Walker achievement. I was stopped in my tracks a good while back because I seemed to eternally have someone following me, which prevented me from recruiting a new follower in one of the associated quests. Now that glitch seems to have gone, I can carry on again. Nearly there with that one.

Still got Hearthfire and Dragonborn to play as well.

I spent up all night playing Layton 2 again ._.

And when I've completed it, I have next two games to look forward to... oh dear.
