Mad Max is a hugely underrated game. I picked it up in a PlayStation store sale for about £15 a few years ago and bloody loved it. You never really hear anybody talking about it.

Max was released on the same day as MGS 5... a crazy decision  . It was still my GOTY, though :toot: . It was actually free on PS Plus a while back :o .

Godzilla wrote:...From what I've seen Rage 2 seems to be the closest we will ever get to a sequel.

Oh, yes, I'm hoping that Rage 2 will be as good as Max, too. I'm a little unsure about the move to an FPS style but, looking at the environments, they appear similar in style to Max. Avalanche seem to have dropped the ball a bit since Max but I'm hoping that their link-up with id software will bring them back to their best.

Finally started Iconoclasts on Nintendo Switch tonight, only played about 40 mins so far (got to the Shard Wasteland) but I like it so far. Not really understanding what’s going on story wise (other than One Concern are baddies?) but the platforming is enjoyable.

This evening I finally managed to get past the intro of Nier Automata on PS4 without it crashing. Fourth attempt and putting it aside for a couple of weeks. Seems okay now I've gotten past the first save.

Good game, but what a glitchy piece of gooseberry fool!

(MGS 4 took a while to install and update, so on it tomorrow)

Started a new game on Skyrim last night, played through the first few hours of this game goodness knows how many times but it still seems amazing to me. Going to try and not turn into a stealth archer this time as well!

You seem to be getting through a fair few games recently, Gem! MGS 4 is another title that I hope to play "one day".

Yeah I've been gaming a lot while I having a short break from the forum, mainly so I could address a few things. Aside from a work situation currently being a pain in the ass (only a temporary issue that I'm now taking control of) everything else is slotting into place. Relationship with the wife is good again, being doing a lot more activities with my family and I'm now teetotal. Just doing my best to enjoy life, of which gaming is a big part again. :D

You really should play MGS 4. It's a great game. This will be my third play through. There's loads of nice little touches throughout alongside Hideo's penchant for bizarre comedic moments and his breaking the fourth wall. Visually it's also still mighty impressive while at the same time highlighting just how far video game aesthetics have come since MGS 4.

Yeah, I have it on disc for my PS3 but I don't have that system setup at the moment. There are a few PS3 games that I'd like to play (MGS 4, the Dead Space trilogy and Deadly Premonition) though, so I may dig it out of the cupboard during the summer :-) .

I started playing it back in 2013 and made it through the first hour; it was cool but I struggle with "scary" games. I really appreciated the atmosphere and presentation, though, so I plan on returning to it at some point!

Yeah it's pretty damn frightening. The sequel less so and by the third it's more of a shooting gallery relatively speaking but still pretty good fun.

Just mowed the lawn (such joy!) and now back to MGS 4.

RAAAAGE!!!!!!*

*You'll get that reference as and when you play it for yourself. ;)

First act of MGS 4 completed. I tried it on a higher difficulty setting this time. Took just over 5 hours with 3 restarts. Think I'm going to drop the level a touch and just enjoy it.

I started Yoku's Island Express. It's alright, I hope to put more time into it.

Put more time into this tonight, it is good isn’t it? Really liking it, it plays really well and it’s got its hooks into me that i’m Finding it hard to put down once I start playing.

I played it on release back in (I think) Feb 2018 (Steam) and I loved the game. Was one of my favourites last year, I like the gameplay, story, characters and so on. Glad you're enjoying it, I don't really see people talk about. There's likely 6 posts about it on the forum overall

Yeah, it doesn’t seem to have picked up much momentum on GR, which is s hame as it’s a really great game.

Fans of Metroidvania games should really give it a look!

Started Star Wars: Jedi Academy (PC) this morning.

The intro is balls, but once you're past that it's great fun. Think this has to be at least my sixth time playing it.

I was playing Iconoclasts late last year, I got stuck on the end boss, rage quit and never went back to it.
