Around two hours in and I like what I've seen so far, plays very similarly to the XCOM games with some minor differences.

This is so bloody hard compared with the XCOM games, the enemy AI is utterly relentless and quite often wipes out half of your squad in a single turn.

Love it though.

Still plugging away at my Dark Souls stream. In the past few days I've made it through Blight Town, killed Quelaag, levelled up the Chaos Servant covenant, killed Ceaseless Discharge and the Iron Golem. I made it to Anor Londo before ending my latest stream but not sure if I'm gonna move on to complete the area or head off to fight Sif so I can kill Four Kings early.

Sea of Solitude - £8.99 on the PS Store until the 17th.

Just out of the school area now and I'm enjoying my time with it so far. Definitely looks and feels very anime-esque, especially in the daylight segments, which themselves are a really effective and warming contrast to the brooding darkness. Curious to see where this game intends to lead me next.

Dragon's Dogma - Switch Lite - wow this is brilliant. Currently playing as an archer. Fought a few bosses and only stopped playing when my battery was about to die. Exactly the sort of game I was looking for.

Wish my image sig would work

Dauntless - Switch - Downloaded this after hearing about it on the Player One Podcast review of the year's best games. It's pretty good, think Monster Hunter for the weapon variation and gameplay still alongside Phantasy Star Online for the quest style with a smidge of Destiny about the hub world and WOW for the art style. It also really reminds me of Soul Sacrifice on the Vita and I loved that game. With it being a free to play game there are a bunch of different currencies in play with varying levels of work or purchasing required to earn them but none of it feels particularly onerous. The early level quests are pretty quick, there are plenty of players on there as well for teaming up and the amount of content in the free to play side is pretty large. Only real issues are the frame rate can be horrendous (which I think is probably a combination of the Switch power and the fact it's an online game) and the loading times are a little bit long in places.

Anyone else playing it?

DMC5

I wish I'd picked this up sooner as it's the best that DMC has ever been. Nico is so great  And she just handed the cowboy hat to Dante
Only thing is V feels a bit overpowered. I reach the SSS rank so many times with him just by button mashing.

Makes me want to pick up the HD trilogy but realistically I probably wouldn't find time to replay them all again. I'll stick with 5 for a while anyway, I'm sure.

Shouldn't we lock this and fire up a 2020 thread?
