Among the only games I've ever played where the mid game (10-20 hour mark) is the strongest section.

I've tried it twice before and it never really clicked as a game, (some elements I really liked, others not so much), but the story is compelling so I've decided to give it another go and push past that 5-6 hour mark.

Grandia II: Anniversary Edition

Had it in my Steam library for the ages but never played it until today, only about an hour or so into it so far but I think I'm going to like it.

Was going to get the FFVIII remaster but I think I'lll just play this instead for my retro JRPG fix.

Bloodstained, just got the last bit of the final area to explore (and a couple more bosses to best), problem being the performance on the Switch has become truly abysmal :(

Fighting Gremory is really bad, huge amounts of slowdown and loads of input lag make it not very enjoyable to play at all and dodging some attacks much tricker that it should be, it’s been poor at points before but never quite this bad when facing a boss. Only tried it in handheld though so it might fare better docked (I think it is meant to perform better docked from what I’ve read). Will try it again tomorrow but if it’s still bad docked I’ll probably just finish upgrading the couple of shards I’m using and level up a bit to see if that can offset the poor performance.

Edit, just gone to try it when docked and got my first crash :fp:

OG Doom and Oceanhorn on PS4. I finished E1 last night and defeated the first major boss in Oceanhorn before calling it a day.

I put a crazy amount of time into that game, quite a lot of it was grinding for money before realising there was a far easier way to earn it.

I'm enjoying it more this time around. Don't know why, I just am. Maybe it's one of those games you have to be in the right frame of mind for.

2 hours into Resident Evil 7...at the risk of sounding a wimp, does this get more or less scary? It’s terrifying so far! I don’t think I could ever try the VR mode.

I'm playing breath of fire on switch. It's one of my all time favourite RPGs and I'm so happy to play it again!

Just beaten Bloodstained Ritual of The Night, which means I now for the first time I can remember I have no backlog  well unless I’m counting Octopath Traveller but I really wasn’t enjoying that too much....

Might go back and do the Mario/Rabbids Donkey Kong DLC or enjoy replaying some SNES games via the Switch online which I’ll probably get shortly before I start amassing more games later in the month.

Gone back to Resident Evil 2. Can't remember what I was doing. I'm in a room with a typewriter.

Had an amazing and disappointing time on DayZ tonight. First off I’m now in a crew, a crew of four, 1 welsh guy and 2 English lads. it’s interesting how we met and I’ll expand on that tomorrow but as we played and they got more comfortable with me 2 of them were massively racist, like hugely so, paki jokes, impressions, and one of the guys character is black and he kept saying he’s stealing the loot Instead of collecting it Cos he’s black. It made for a very uncomfortable evening and as much as I complained they just ignored me so I just went off on my own a bit.

They want me to play with them again and I think I might wait until the perfect time and execute them all.

It gets more scary for a bit longer, but then it changes into more action orientated after that.

RE2.

Okay, I know where I'm at again. Not that far in it would seem.

Just stumbled across the Tyrant for the first time, shot his hat off in a panic, (trophy!) legged it, and now I'm cowering in the boiler room safe house.

My heart is pounding. Who decided having this strawberry floater stomp around after you was a good idea?! Too much for me this evening. I enjoy a good scare, but this will give me nightmares. :dread:

So, going back to last night's DayZ adventures. It was an odd night, I played a game of PUBG and joined a squad and they invited me to Party chat. So it was 3 English lads from Bolton from what I could gather, over the course of 3 games I gathered that one of them was living in a council flat with his pregnant girlfriend and he also took a line of coke, I know this because he proudly announced it and then started sneezing and snorting.

Now, I was quietly playing the game during all of this, and I was actually carrying the team to a certain extent, they where too high and/or drunk to do much else constantly laughing at nothing. After a few games the coke dude asked what other games I play and I said DayZ and he was like YES FINALLY, and he was really dying to play it, I reluctantly agreed, only because I've been lone wolfing DayZ for months now and it's not really any fun.

Anyway, we got lucky enough cos he spawned only 20mins from my location but, since he literally couldn't read a compass (I explained it but he still got it wrong), we spent an hour finding each other, with him basically staying put in Gorka while I made my way to him. We were in Party Chat but we agreed that when we meet we'll change to game chat so if we see anyone we'll try talking to them as killing on sight is no fun, No sooner had we met then we seen a guy running with a glow stick attached as it was getting dark. We ran towards him and he ran to a barn that had another guy standing outside, the coke guy said, speak now or you're f**king dead and executed him within 10 seconds of us seeing him, in game chat I was shouting, "WTF are you doing?"

Image

We then chased the glow torch dude down with coke lad saying "stop now or you'll get a bullet in your head" and he stopped, I promised him we not gonna kill him and I apologized over his friends death.

Image

Following this all hell broke out because a load of Z's had followed us down the hill so we ended up all 3 of us fighting them off together.

Image

Coke lad either died or logged off but either way he was gone, once the Z's had died down I again apologized, explained that I didn't actually know the other guy and he was cool enough about it. He explained that he was in a crew of 3 that just met that night, it was dark and raining so we went into the barn where he locked the doors and there was another player inside.

Anyway, this was all good fun and exciting until later when it went a bit...well...disappointing. Had some genuinely fun times the next day. One of them chopped up body of guy we killed and ate him, I warned they'd get sick and sure enough his character was laughing manically, a quick google told us there is no cure so that was annoying and kinda creepy. Me and glow stick guy went up to local police station and he shot at a zombie, and ran inside, I had about 12 Z's after me so got into a house, I ran to back door and they congregated there, anyway, I left out front and high tailed it down the road, the glow stick guy stood looking at me and I was shouting RUN, "what? Why?" "RUN, RUN NOW JUST RUN" I got down to a small shack and laughed as he ran past shouting "FUUUUUUUUU" with 10 or more Z's after him, he just about made it to safety, the guy Coke dude killed made it back and we made our way onwards, and that's when I realised they kinda a bit racist and plebish.

I don't recall ever seeing more than two zombies at any one time in Day Z. (PC)

Shoot an unsilenced weapon in DayZ now in a town and you're dead. In fact, later on last night one of the guys got killed trapped in a military tent with about 8 of them.
