If you're still a fan of the Epic Store you're a dummy though.

Have a nice day.

Deffo not a fan of the store but less so of the hyperbolic reaction to its existence 's all.

Its just the way the games story and characters make you really feel a part of the world that makes this game one of the best. The combat isn’t especially brilliant and the framerate at times is not the best either.

I've tried the PC version just last week and it's amazing how much better it looks than the original PS4 version. And that framerate.

Baba is You

My god this is brilliant, it's basically a Sokoban puzzle game where you can move the games rules around on the screen in order to break and modify them in order to 'cheat' your way to the next stage.

Early on in the game still and its already getting pretty tricky, I expect things to get brain melting later on.

Dragon Quest II on iPhone. Not very far into this yet but enjoying it thus far. Whereas the first game stifled your progress simply with harder monsters here it’s enemy party size that forces you down a certain path until you recruit a party of your own.

Just started New Game Plus (hard mode) in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. (PS4 Pro)

Might be a bit over powered at level 97 but it's still a blast to play through and push towards ultimate difficulty and 100% on everything.

Nothing out anytime soon that I'm interested in so this will hopefully keep me busy for the next month.

Wish my image sig would work

I keep getting lost in DQII. Much like the first game the map is very open and since I have the ship now I can go almost anywhere but there is little indication right now of exactly where I should be headed next.

Just finished my second run of Trials of Mana on the Collection of Mana with Duran/Angela/Kevin. Still have to do a playthrough with Kevin and Charlotte but gonna take a break from the game before I do that.

Now onto Bloodstained :)

I haven't played II, but a good rule of thumb with DQ is that the price of the inns increases the further into the plot you get.

I worked out where to go in the end (well actually I looked it up). I think I’m approaching the end of the game now but I’m likely gonna grind for a bit until I hit the max level with everybody.

Rayman Origins
Having a lot of fun with this. I've got 9/10 of the skull teeth things, and around 180 Lums. Some levels are frustrating though, and have taken more more than a few attempts to pass. I'm pretty close to the end I reckon. Going to need a lot of replaying of levels to have enough Lums to get the final skull tooth.

GRID 2
Been playing this on-and-off for aaaages. There's just so much of it, and the AI opponents have become too annoying. I want to finish it off so I've bumped the difficulty right down and will hopefully blitz through it this week.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2
I'm on the last level of this now. Typically annoying final boss. Again, hope to finish it this week.

I think this is getting into Spacechem levels of difficulty now, I can see what I need to do easily enough but the level of lateral thinking required to come up with a solution (sometimes there's a few ways to complete a level) is quite taxing.

Because of Game pass I keep discovering hidden (to me at least) gems.

Last night I delved into some and was genuinely astounded at the 3 games I payed.

Moonlighter
A 2D dungeon craller ala Zelda dungeons but the twist is, you can sell the stuff you collect from dead bodies in a shop that you run by day while you can attempt dungeons at night. The risk reward and pricing is a a clever idea. it's gorgeously old school and pixely.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar
Fired this up and again was surprised by this western take on the JRPG. It's running at 4K I think, it's sumptuously designed and everything is super clean and the animations are top notch. Story doesn't seem to bad but yep, another one that impressed.

Wizard of Legend
Back to pixel land with this, rogue like fast paced 2d top down slash/explode em up. Controls are fast, fluid and the attacks taking up entire screen. Loved it.

Apart from those 3 newbies I've also gone back into Gamepass to

The Outer Wilds
Eye popping what you see in this game and I'm slowly getting gist of a story forming as to why the universe is doomed. It's a lot of fun although I find the flying and jet pack fiddly at times.

Operencia
I was stuck in that underwater castle for an age but yesterday I finally figured out how to get out of it. Battles seem easy at mo but I'm in a scary forest now with 3 adventurers and it's excellent.

Void Bastards
Got my latest spawn killed by Pirates, I need to Git Gud cos pirates seem to be impossible to kill.

The experience needed to level up in DQII is getting a bit silly now. I understand that on the second floor of the final dungeon Liquid Metal Slimes spawn quite frequently, assuming they don't scarper I think I need to head there to farm them.

Uhhh. I've been playing Ristar on the Megadrive Classic collection, mainly so I can vote it off in the videogame eliminator thread with a clear conscience. It was a pile of bum then and it's a pile of bum now. Awkward to control, wastes so many good ideas by being a clumsy mess with a stupid grab mechanic that funnily enough no-one has ever missed or tried to replicate.

Here's the thing: in general good games don't die, they always get a sequel. And if they don't it's either because they are made by developers that went bust, or because they were only ever one shot games that did everything they needed to do the first time. It looks great, but otherwise this feels like a pound-shop Rayman.

Well, apparently it did get a sequel, so I'm an idiot. Note to self; check facts BEFORE posting.

It's still rubbish though.

:slol: And that's what makes the world go round!

I just can't get on with it at all. I find it clumsy more than anything. But it turns up on all these collections and soon (I think) the forthcoming classic mini, so I'm clearly missing something.

Ah well, my loss no doubt.

Never had a problem with it myself. Loved it.

Always wanted a new one and then thought best not what with Sonic Team being gooseberry fool now.

Still grinding for levels in the final dungeon of Dragon Quest II. I have all three characters at level 46 now (50 is the max) so hopefully not too long to go now.

In the first game once your attack stat was high enough you could one shot Metal Slimes to reach the max level much quicker but there’s no such luck here.
