I actually enjoyed Dead Island more than I expected, as I'd been led to believe it was a load of shite. It has its flaws, for sure, but I enjoyed it overall. Good mindless violence, and so satisfying to just smash the gooseberry fool out of zombies. :datass:

At launch it was a mess. I got my hands on a review copy via a friend and it was buggy as all hell bordering on unplayable, the game crashing and wiping my save file was the final straw and I abandoned it right as you reach the jungle. The definitive edition seems to have had all the problems fixed.

I played that Hue, got all the colours, got to the university and now I don't really want to continue. The level design is utterly annoying in this place.

Most of the games I've completed this year have been ones I've started, played a decent amount of and then never completed - I've decided to continue that trend and actually get some games off my backlog!

So on that note, I'm currently playing one of the most shameful abandoned titles on my pile of shame - Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I loved the first and played to completion, I played bits of this too but I don't know why it just never grabbed me at the time.

I picked it back up and I was on 20 stars, done another 5 this afternoon but mostly been going back to older levels and completing the second stars that I missed. It's great and I really can't fathom why it didn't grab me at the time - it seems very strange going back to a Wii remote/nunchuk though after so long and the waggle is a bit of a pain in the arse. Hopefully I can get through to the end and can add this to the completed list too!

Been jumping around various Pokémon over the weekend. I’ve started a new game in White 2 and Ultra Moon, been playing Ultra Moon more though and I’ve decided to make it so every one of my team is part ghost. Kind of finding it hard to actually carry on playing them though, I’ve played through them all so much over the years (except Pearl, which upon starting a new game I found immensely tedious and dropped it to wait for the inevitable remake in the future).

Might have to crack on with Hollow Knight, or Gris which is currently downloading.

I'm going to keep posting Elite pics until someone stops me.

I've been trader hunting recently. One of the worst things about the game is the grind and I've hit a spot where I need a certain material that only drops from big arse transports.

On approach. Those sun-spots are the convoy.

Image
One of them decided to do a weird dance around me.

Image
I eventually took a break to see some sights, including a Federal Farragut-class Battlecruiser

Image
And finally, to a planet's surface for a wee panoramic.

The sights of space were always great to be looking at on Elite. Those pictures have brought those adventures back.

I agree, Elite looks stunning.

Rather than loading up Hollow Knight or Gris I popped Let’s Go Pikachu back in for the first time in months, aim being to level my main 6 Pokémon up so I can at least beat enough master trainers to battle/defeat Red (I think its 6 you need to defeat anyway!). After that I’ll be hoping to complete the dex, moon stones still seem annoyingly sparse though, even using that rock in Cerulean cave :( I’m currently on 127, started Pokémon Go recently so hopefully that’ll get me a few more towards 151 but I know someone at work who’s been playing Go for ages, hoping he’ll have some spares that I need meaning I can last a few more months without forking out for the online :shifty:

For the past few weeks I've been working away at 100 percenting LEGO City Undercover on the Xbox One. I've just finished up with that. Time for the next LEGO game, and as long as the save doesn't corrupt itself again, I'll be working through Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars.

Isn't Clone Wars the worst one for grinding?

It seems that I've lost the appetite for Lego games. The last one I really enjoyed was Lego Batman 2. And I did finish Lego Batman 3, but I'm disappointed that they dropped the huge overworld map where you can go on a hunt for gold bricks and unlockable characters.

Bounty Hunter missions, the battlefront missions [forget the proper name], three or four gold bricks in each system out in space... there's quite a lot to do. I don't think I'll really get much gaming time during E3, anyway, and I want to return to Kingdom Hearts 3 for a bit since I need to finish that final world off.

Have you played Lego City Undercover? It's a proper open-world Lego GTA-like. If free-roam is the appeal then that's the one to go with for sure.

It's still one of my most played games on Switch, I got pretty close to 100% but in the end game my save seemed to get less and less stable and I was getting semi-regular crashes, so I stopped. It was mostly fine up to that point at least.

Hmm will have a look and see if the same problems occur in the PS4 version before picking it up. Nothing irrates me more from 100% a game only for it to glitch out. I had the same problem for Lego Harry Potter on the X360, and I don't fancy restarting the entire game just to get that final achievement.

Very nearly getting there with the dex in Let’s Go Pikachu, currently on 134 and the only ones I need are the Eevee exclusive ones and trade evolutions (I know someone who should be able to help on both of these though) and Scyther...... Scyther is proving very problematic as I’ve still only seen one wild one and it ran away :( I was even chaining earlier to try and get one to spawn and a Moltres spawned before I saw a Scyther (which obviously called off the chain I had going, I wasn’t aware the legendary birds actually appeared in the overworld so seeing another Moltres certainly got my attention!), I really don’t know why I’m struggling so much to even get one to spawn.

Edit, after just using Max lures and waiting near a patch I’ve saw it in the first time I’ve finally caught a Scyther :toot:

My city now has a monorail, just like those at Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook! There's nothin' on Earth like a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car monorail!

I will admit that there has been a significant rise in cases of seasickness lately. :slol:
