Recore is good, solid fun. Joule is a good character to play as well.

Started Freedom Planet today. It's pretty cute.

Playing a few things but mainly playing The Great Ace Attorney and slowly making my way through Persona 5.

A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC version).

It's an interesting one - quite a relief from the usual risk-averse fare. Looks absolutely amazing running with all the bells whistles, but I'm only just into the start of the game, so who knows whether performance will hold up? I've read that the game is riddled with bugs, but so far (about 1 hour in), so good (although my GTX 1080 is getting a fairly robust work-out).

'French' accents are a bit dubious (and inconsistent) and some of the character work leaves a little to be desired, but I'm hopeful. This one's a punt - just to see how it all pans out.

I just spent £3 on a new engine colour and name plates for my virtual make-believe spaceship. :fp:

I do like a bit of Mortal Kombat but I am a bit behind the times. Finally got around to trying out my copy of MK XL this evening. There's no question that the MK games have the best stories and lore of any fighting game even if the fighting itself isn't as polished as other games in the genre. Nevertheless, and like all MK games, it's good fun, the blood guts and gore is disgustingly spectacular, and being the XL version there's bags of kontent.

Also played a bit more God of War. I kind of like it, but it's just not grabbing me as I thought it might. I'm going to put it to one side for a bit methinks.

Gears of War 4 - Xbox One

I really fancied playing a Gears game so I am finally playing the fourth entry. It’s everything I was expecting it to be, more Gears but a lot prettier, but that’s exactly what I was looking for! About halfway through the second Act at the moment.

Tacoma (Xbox One X) - really enjoying this, guess i'm about 3/4 of the way through. Love the way you piece the story together through both dialogue and incidental items. Very rewarding and very engaging.

Horus Station The Downward Spiral (PSVR) - see a theme here? Really immersive title which gives you a true feeling of being (almost) alone on an (almost) desolate space station. One of the the most atmospheric games i have ever played. Move tracking is pretty much spot on too.

I really enjoyed 4, but I think the first 2 chapters are the weakest.

So...

Borrowed the stick/throttle off a mate and it doesn't half add to the experience. Considering getting one myself but, knowing me I'd end up going for a super expensive one so maybe I'll hold off for the time being...

That monitor's a bit high isn't it? You'll get a crick in your neck using that!

Nice throttle though. :datass:

It's a bit deceptive that pic as I took it from desk level! Also, the monitor's on an armature meaning I can swivel it all aboot if I need (there's a second, vertical screen hiding just off camera!). I'm pretty happy with that setup now. I mean, if it makes a game codifying mainly of shuttling imaginary goods between sleeve stations interesting then something's gone right.

It’s defo picked up in Act 3, I liked the tail end of Act 2 culminating in the vehicle section.

Finally back on with Celeste after not having a chance to play it for the best part of a week (well, play anything for that matter), just clearing out the hotel. Still really enjoying it as well, dying an awful lot which seems the norm  I have unlocked a Pico-8 version as well in the hotel.

I’ll have to wait and see but I don't think I’ll see the appeal of coming back to play an even harder version in the b sides and c sides, I’m enjoying it but not that much though!

Personally I need the context of a story or structure, so the B-sides and Mario Maker’s user-generated content don’t work for me. That said, Celeste delivers some really excellent context.
