I have been looking for a podcast app that works in the background (ideally free). Spotify has quite a limited selection compared to my podcast player of choice (player FM).

The podcast app is called Podcasted it's just a grey tile but it works in background, its UI is garbage but it does what is supposed to.

Mini Radio is the one for Radio, works well. Both free.

EDIT - Link to Podcast App, if you sign in you should be able to remotely download it, if not it takes about 60seconds anyway.

Been playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 all day, compared to first one it's more survival horror focused rather than action, which is ace. The first part of the first episode terrified me due to these traps, and I've often ran out of ammo so I had to scavage as much as I can :slol: Def. better game than first one (which I still enjoyed).

It's tad dark though so I had to ignore recommendations and just put bright up so I can see fine.

Also on same vain as first one, it's short game (on last main episode after 6hrs) but I don't mind that

Been mostly playing Spiderman on PS4. Really not sure how I feel about this one, every time I play it I find myself really enjoying it but at the same time it's yet to truly grab me in a way that makes me feel I can't put it down. Means my playtime of it is very fractured at the moment.

I assume people just don't realise how easy it is to get a podcast on there.

Took me 2 minutes at most to get The Pugsley Crew Views on there, also I think for an age it was US podcasts only.

I’ve already gotten slightly bored playing through Pokémon Red again, decided just to move to a couple of the Pokémon games I’ve only played through the once so I’m now playing Omega Ruby. Just got to Dewford Town and decided to wonder trade my box of Pokémon that’d otherwise sit dormant for the duration of the game and see if I get anything decent in return.

Spent a bit of time comparing gameplay between DOA 5 and DOA 6 today just for kicks (no pun intended).

DOA 5 is still a very solid fighter where it counts and it's only really the new combat/defensive break system that pushes DOA 6 ahead in this area.

Stages wise I personally feel DOA 5 has the edge overall. They're just a lot more fun. That's not to say 6 isn't home to cool stages, it most certainly is.

Visually? Yeah 6 is obviously ahead here. It's far slicker looking, more detailed and runs much smoother. 5 still looks and animates lovely, but next to DOA 6 it's rough around the edges. Any claims that 6 hasn't moved on from 5 in the visuals department is pure poppycock.

Right, back to Far Cry 5. 8-)

Starlink, got back into it and enjoying it more now. The difference changing a weapon type makes is ridiculous. Switched my main character as he gets double xp for everyone once a skill is levelled up. Also his super is an orbital strike that is one hit kill most of the time.

It's s very polished and well made game. A very Ubisoft game too, loads to collect and do.

Great feeling when you've upgraded a planet's defenses and loads of little ships join in taking down a boss.

Wish my image sig would work

Just started the remake of Arkham Asylum on the Xbox 1X. It seems perfectly acceptable to me, 3 hours in and I'm loving it. All I keep seeing posted everywhere is that it's the game equivilant of the devil. I'm starting to think my standards are markedly lower than the majority of people's. I think I really enjoy 90% or more of games I play.
Maybe it's because I'm old and I still remember what truly bad games are like.

Played a lot of DOA 6 yesterday. Also started Resident Evil 2 last night just to see what it was like and I'm very impressed. However, until I'm done with FC5, (drawing ever closer to the final showdown), I'll put RE 2 to one side. Probably return to it mid week if not sooner.

Slay the Spire - Still haven't managed to wiin a single 'run' after 45 hours of play, currently I've managed to get to the 3rd area boss fight but don't think it I can beat it as the rng has decided to pit me against two at the same time.

Is it that version that is the game equivalent of the Devil, because Asylum was strawberry floating ace on the 360.

Apparently some of the lighting is off in the remake so internet does what it does.

I played 3 whole minutes of Modern Warfare multiplayer before remembering why I don't like CoD multiplayer.
It's twitch gaming at its worst and I have the reflexes of a grumpy old man so yeah, I'm strawberry floating terrible :fp: .

The time to kill and the pace mean by the time I know I'm getting shot at and start to respond I'm dead. It's a bit like going to Zap Zone and playing against a bunch of professional 12 year old Zap Zone gods and feeling like a bloody geriatric  .

Bloody kids and their silly games :x .

I then spent most of today (about 4 hours) doing the first main level of Hitman because I have zero sense of direction and decided that using a map was for chumps. I spent ages choking loads of random people out and changing into at least 5 disguises as I bumbled about. I had loads of random intel I failed to make use of as they needed new targets I had no idea how to find and generally I am not the greatest Hitman to ever play the game.

What a fabulous weekend of gaming :shifty: .

Played some Slime Rancher, I don't think it's that fun and got quite bored. Quite glad I got it for free off of the EPIC store.

Played a bit more Mortal Kombat XL, I'm getting more into it the tower is pretty fun.

I'm actually trying not to buy any new games for a year to try and clear as much of my backlog as possible.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

A certain popular forum is full of people saying that the game has aged terribly and that the remaster completely ruins the art style. I can't really speak on the later, though I did play Arkham City when it released on 360, and this certainly does not look like an artistic downgrade to my eye. It has not been stuttery etc either, which is another common criticism.

In terms of the gameplay, I am finding it utterly engrossing, and it does not feel like an "old" game to me at all. Internet opinions eh? Who would have thought they don't nessesarily align with everyone's views?

I completed it for my third time last year. It's still great.

Like I said. Mad people.
