Played a bit of KoF 14 to try out my Twitch Channel.

I'm absolutely terrible at KoF these days, if I was ever any good before.

Begun God of War. Finished the fight with the stranger. A great opening. Gorgeous looking game as well.

Thats the point I got up to, not played it properly since as I don’t know where to go  When I’ve finished Celeste I’ll try and give it another go as I do mean to go back to it.

See where my ghost is? That's where I made for.

edit: Yup, it's the right place: you need dash cloak to progress beyond a certain point in the area.

Thanks! I will head there next time I load it up, if I still can’t progress I think I’ll just start again

I was half right :slol: Youcan go there, but it's not the next proper area. Still worth a visit. Will update you when I find next zone.

Thanks! I know this genre of games likes to put progression in the hands of the player but I do sometimes wish there was an option where you can get hints about where to go next if you want them. Would certainly help as sometimes if I get lost I might not pick up a game for months and by that time I’m truly lost!

This is definitely a zone you can visit after Greenpath: https://twitter.com/SoKfa_ce/status/1127470163782250496

Thanks, when I get back to playing it I’ll certainly take a look at the areas you mentioned.

No worries.

Still playing and enjoying Hollow Knight.

Unlocked more notches and charms. Stuff is now easier to kill (thanks to a longer nail) but the new area is a pain as I don't have the map yet... which isn't all bad as that sense of trepidation is one I missed once I got familiar to the previous areas.

God of War HD - PS3

Continuing my replay through the series prior to playing the new one including the prequels and spinoffs i missed. Its time for the original game. It is one of the most early 2000s games i've ever played.

After watching a film called The Rezort recently (imagine Jurassic Park with zombies) I’ve bought Dead Island on PS4. I played a review copy at launch on PS3, made it as far as the jungle but my save wigged out and I lost all my game and trophy progress. I was rather enjoying the game until that point so I’m hoping that in the intervening years they have ironed out all the kinks.

EDIT: Several hours into this and I’ve just discovered how useful the kick manoeuvre is, particularly jumping kicks.

Jumping kicks almost always knock regular zombies down the ground allowing you to finish them off with stomps thus saving your weapons from degrading and costing you a fortune in repairs.

Dying Light is great, but I also think Dead Island is equally as good but for different reasons, mainly it's slower pace which creates a different kind of dread to that found in Dying Light.

Personally, I got bored of Dead Island. Not sure how far Inform Dying Light I loved. Just need to finish the DLC.

As I've fallen away from Destiny since my clan collapsed I found myself back on strawberry floating Elite.

Man. I don't know why I keep coming back to this game. Large periods of play are just aiming the nose of your ship at a circle and hitting go. Or at least, they are with the way I play it. But it's also a massive, massive game and I keep tempting myself by setting new goals. First time round it was getting enough money together to buy my current ship, the mighty Anaconda.

Now I've set my goal on another member of the game's Big Three; the Federal Corvette.

Commonly regarded as the best looking ship in the game, as well as possibly the best combat vessel, it requires the rank of Rear Admiral with the Federation which...requires a lot of grinding.

Like, a lot.

Over 140 hours of play it turns out I must have accidentally done some Fed missions as I had a pretty high standing with them already. I was able to breeze through the first 5 ranks super quick and am now a Warrant Officer. Rear Admiral is still another 6 levels away however with the last one, Post Captain, apparently requiring as many Reputation points as every other previous rank combined.

But. I have a goal. Took me over 100 hours to get my 'conda. We'll see how long this takes.

Elite looks so much like my kind of thing, but also I know it will kill me, so I continue to avoid it.

Oh yeah, stay away. The thing's an absolute timesink.

I imagine it's the same feeling people get from American Truck Simulator; a relaxing, immersive game to take you away from things, something to play podcasts or audio books to.

Oh, I remember when I bought Elite for my birthday (which it conveniently released on) and spent pretty much the entire day on it. Whenever I went on it, I'd spend way too long playing it, and for a while it was pretty much all I did play. Now I've got a new laptop I've decided not to install it again.

Too much of a timesink. Except as already said, I've fallen back into the lure of Euro Truck Simulator 2.

I uninstalled Elite in the end. I've simply no time for it and time is definitely needed to fully appreciate the game.

Are there cumulative mechanics in the Truck Sim series? Like, do you save up money to buy better trucks and stuff? That's really why I keep coming back to Elite. It's progression is handled so well, and there are so many different metrics at play, that I sort of feel I could play forever.

Right now I'm increasing my Federation rank but I'd also like to increase my Trading rep to Elite level, and perhaps try out some combat (something I haven't touched since my first few hours, which is insane). There's also money; I don't currently have enough to even afford the Corvette but apparently there's something of a gold rush going on at the moment with asteroid mining so I'm probs going to try that too.

It's all con-fucking-suming.

Euro Truck is more tame. The objective, as much as sims can have objective, is to build up the greatest trading empire. At first, it's only you and your single garage, but once you get enough money you can buy new trucks and garages, hire new drivers, and watch the money come in as you cruise round the M25. Of course, you need a good amount of drivers and garages before you get to that point, which does take a lot of work, but there will come a time when you can choose to stop working full time within the game if you so wish.

Interesting. A bit different to Elite then, perhaps because that game is also a consistent online game (which...I'm not sure if Truck Sim is). There's no empire building, although I can definitely see them adding it in the future. The recent Distant Worlds expedition did end up building a space station, but that was a dev led one-off I think.

Frontier have held such events before, and they're always updating the game, which I found very good. Euro Truck definitely isn't being continously added to.

Got Gamepass for three months, so I'm playing Recore. It's alright so far. Just got the spider bot guy.
