Started Observer on 1X last night. Its framy as hell, and actually left me with a bit of a headached (i think its the different scan modes), but im loving the atmosphere and the art work. Reminds me of Dream Web and Beneath a Steel Sky for some reason. So the headache is just going to have to deal with it.

Currently playing Pokémon Gold, I’d started a Typhlosion only run ages ago (before my Meganium only run on Crystal) but got distracted after gym 7, just done gym 8 now so I’m off to catch Ho-Oh before doing the elite 4, Typhlosion is currently level 57 so the elite 4 and Kanto postgame should be a relative breeze. Out of the solo runs I’ve done recently (well since they came out) with each starter Dippy the Meganium has proved my favourite.

I’m away for a week soon so I’m saving trying Hollow Knight again and Cadence of Hyrule for downtime then rather than trying/starting them now, might add Bloodstained into the mix as well as that should arrive shortly but I should have my hands full with the Hollow Knight and Cadence of Hyrule.

Restarted Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4. Currently on Chapter 4. I took a looooong break from this game (I had finished the previous chapter in last November, lol). But man, do I love this game. It can be clunky and unintuitive, but the story, characters, world building are top class, the best I've ever seen in a videogame. Every mission is a joy because of all the engrossing characters, and the dialogue is sooooo good. Shooting is also fun, of course, but it's the exploration and the freedom that really capture my interest.

I'm trying not to miss any side mission, I just want to meet more of the people in this world, knowing their stories, hearing what they have to say.

Spent 1000 dollars on an Arabic horse, so far it seems worth it, it's a really fast and resistant horse, I'm just hoping I don't run out of money because I was left with 100 dollars after my purchase. Fortunately I've paid all my bounties already and I have been good with the law, so I don't expect to pay up anytime soon.

Haven't really touched the online, though. Probably don't even plan to. I don't think I'll enjoy an online game that has the gameplay of RDR2 as a foundation, but doesn't have the amazing story to back it up. Also, I don't have any friends that play it, that would be half the fun. I also heard the online is a massive grind, don't know if they've changed that lately...

Dragon Quest XI on PS4.

After my first near death experience last night I’ve spent some time this afternoon levelling my guys up a little.

I’ve hit the point now where without killing the ever elusive Metal Slimes you can find in the Gallopolis desert the experience needed for the next level up is a bit ridiculous so I think I’m about ready to move on to Gallopolis itself now.

Played Perfect Dark Zero yo see what it’s like now it’s in 4K.

Who ever thought it was ok that everyone was made out of shiny plastic needs to be shot into the sun. Environments are overly glossy but the enemies look like plastic toys. :fp:

PDZ was shite even in standard 720p. No amount of polish can enhance it.

Fired up Little Nightmares - Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch tonight. I remember playing this on PS4 and I remember really liking it so thought I would go through it again. Playing in handheld mode ably put about 30 minutes into it so far but I love the mood and atmosphere of the game. The character designs are really grotesque and creepy as well, only negative so far is the load times are quite lengthy when you die and need to reload.

3-4 hours into Spider-Man.

omgiloveit

I'm not sure if the collectibles get repetitive after awhile but right now all I want to do is web sling my way around the city picking them up as I go. Combat is also great fun and although the story hasn't really got going yet properly I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it, especially as they've really nailed the the tone.

Is it still £30 on Switch? I remember liking the look of it, but it seemed a little pricey to me.

Despite having newer stuff to play I’ve been continuing my solo run of Gold (now complete, Typhlosion makes it very easy) and I’ve loaded up Animal Crossing for the first time in ages (nearing 2 years according to my villagers.....), I’m kind of tempted to start my town again but at the same time New Horizons is out in a matter of months and if I started it again I could say goodbye to all the games I still need to play and plan to buy this year

Instead of getting Crash Team Racing, I instead decided to go with the GTA trilogy on Steam. Booted up San Andreas, and here I go again. Not that I ever got far with it before, but there's something to the 3D era games I like.

Only collectables I think that were on the repetitive side were crimes. I did, in the end, forgo most collectables in the DLCs as I wanted to just crack on with the story, to see where things were heading.

And now, I feel like an idiot. Completely forgetting about the Steam Summer Sale I bought it in the morning full price [£16.99], and now the sale is active it's been reduced by 70%. Ah, it's still good value anyway. They'll last me a good while, and way more than twenty hours apiece very likely.

Didn't know the Steam sale started today, so, err thanks for mentioning it.

My wallet might not be so thankful though.

IIRC If you've played less than two hours, you can request a refund and it'll be automatically processed.

I don't think that'd work somehow. Individual games, yes. From a bundle, though?

I've just noticed my quote in your sig! I was initially worried it was there sarcastically, but you picked a fairly reasonable one. Good to see like-minds promoting each others ideals!

It was meant there sarcastically but taking your post onboard I have elected to edit it so it cannot be misconstrued.

If you're still a fan of the Epic Store you're a dummy though.

Have a nice day.

To stay on topic, played some Overwatch tonight. When it's as good as it was this time, with people sharing info in chat and working together, I'm not sure there's any game that can touch it.

Stopped playing days gone because i wanted a bit of a break, so restarted the wonderful witcher 3, this time in glorious 4k (ok checkerboard 4k) on the ps4 pro.

Its just the way the games story and characters make you really feel a part of the world that makes this game one of the best. The combat isn’t especially brilliant and the framerate at times is not the best either.
