Spent about six hours coasting along in one of the medium scenarios barely making enough to add new things to the park, endlessly taking out loans just to place rides when I could. For the first two in-game years I had nothing except two rides and three stalls.

I think it might need another restart, as the situation doesn't look like it'll be changing anytime soon. I managed to complete the easy objectives, though, so that's something.

I found that when I played it ages ago, some of the scenarios are almost impossible.

There's an early one set inside a cavern that I couldn't finish no matter what I tried.

Namco Museum Essentials

Still nothin essential about this collection. Currently playing Dragon Spirit. It’s the most stinkiest turd I’ve played yet.

Surely you can't fault Pac-man, Galaga and Dig Dug at least!

Tragic that it's missing Mappy and Rolling Thunder

Luckily for my backlog I seem to be sticking with Hollow Knight for the time being :toot: Not going to lie, with the way some of the bosses have tested my patience (not even done the Mantis Lords as of yet, need to save a little more for Sly’s last mask shard so I’ll have 7 health) I don’t see myself doing much more past seeing the credits

The music is wonderful as well, especially the Mantis Lord’s battle music :)

Currently trying to force myself into Trials Rising. As a big fan of the previous games in the series, it gives me no pleasure whatsoever to report that this game is an absolute turd.

Yep. :(

What's especially painful is that it plays just as well as it always has and the level designs are some of their best so far, but the stupid menus, stupid world-map level select and stupid progression through the game just suck all the fun out of it.

Well the world map design is a pretty big part of it, but I'm not convinced the track design is that great to be honest. Certainly so far there's an over-reliance on gimmicky springboards and massive ramps rather than anything that takes much skill. It's been massively underwhelming so far, most of the tracks it's like I'm playing on autopilot.

Granted I'm playing the easy tracks though, maybe it gets more inspiring later on.

Hasn't that always been the case with the easy tracks? Or maybe I just don't care all that much about the easy tracks to notice those things. I tend to just get those out of the way ASAP so I can get into the more challenging stuff.
The later tracks definitely showcase their level design chops, but I can't even be bothered unlocking any more of them. The menus and unlocking just became such a chore to go through when all I wanted to do was play the game.

Well I don't ever remember having to force myself through them. Maybe it's just exacerbated by the game structure like you say, it really is awful stuff. Just give me a list of the tracks and let me pick one FFS. :x

Mantis Lords done and dusted :D took me far too many attempts but the time I actually did it I was only hit once  I think I’ve realised what my problem might be though, I’m always trying to deal damage whereas I should be just waiting for the boss to make its move and get an easy hit or two in when I can before focusing on dodging. Still onwards, I’ll just have to explore a bit now to see where I need to go next.

Since no one's active in the God of War thread (I mean, not unreasonable considering I'm over a year late), I thought I'd post here.

Really enjoying this. Everything feels meaningful in a way that is rare in interconnected worlds. Every fight seems worthwhile and every side-quest is varied and interesting. All the mechanics are pitch perfect and the combat has a lovely weighting. Dodging is fluid and I'm getting better at hoarde management.

Just got to the section where we're going after the giant's chisel. Have freed one dragon so far, and there's another I've discovered waiting to be freed.

Enjoying remaking SMM1 levels to have them in SMM2 as well playing other players' levels, I do feel it loses some of things that made me love SMM1 and why can't I just view my friends to be able to play their levels is baffling to me (and on top of that lag in online matches can be really bad at times) but I'm really happy I got the game. Already put in fourty-five hours into it according to Activity Log (god I wish it'd just adapt 3DS' Activity Log).

Even if my levels might not get lot of players playing on them, that's ok as I get to play other people's levels and that rare play/heart makes it all special to me.

Currently NOT playing Alien Isolation. Third time I've tried and didn't even get as far as I had done previously, before turning it off and deleting it off the hard drive. I just found it really boring and not remotely enjoyable.

I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed III - I've been spectacularly late to this series, despite getting the original when it first came out. I played through the Ezio trilogy last year and thoroughly enjoyed it but I've been putting this one off given its reputation.

So far I'm just playing the third sequence and finding it quite enjoyable, Haytham is great and the gameplay is much like the Ezio trilogy although the gunplay is crap. I gather it's all downhill though once Haytham stops being the main character. Still, so far, I'm having fun. It's full of graphical glitches on PC though, carriages disappearing and floating passengers being my favourite so far.

Pressing on and loving it. The remarkable thing is how the challenge scales up so perfectly. I'm playing on normal difficulty, so this may not be accurate for others, but I'm never dying more than 2 or 3 times on the harder encounters. There's some cheap one hit kills, but mostly from the optional enemies.

I've now collected the Black Rune and it's time to return to the mountain.

Been playing a little more Hollow Knight this evening, just got the Monarch Wings and made my way to the top of Crystal Peak so I can grab some pale ore to further upgrade my nail, along with 850 geo of course (not really found a decent way to farm geo yet, is there a decent way for players who are relatively poor at the game ).

Still loving it though, the more I play the more I find myself getting really excited for Silksong.

Contra Anniversary Collection on PS4. I’m awful at Contra but for some reason I rather like the series. With rather liberal use of save states so far I’ve beaten arcade Contra, arcade Super Contra and NES Contra.

Not sure if it’s bad emulation or just how the game ran originally but arcade Contra runs pretty terribly. The slow down is ridiculous at times, quite often you can barely move it’s that bad.

EDIT: Playing Famicom Contra now, they could have at least translated the cutscenes.

In the continuing adventures of Gulpee Island on Planet Coaster, I've managed to hit the medium objectives and making good progress on the hard ones, but I'm still having to survive on loan after loan. Now I've got a decent amount of rides, along with a go-kart track and a rollercoaster, I'm hoping I can finally put an end to the continuous use of loans.
