Got Fate Extella Link today on Switch. It's a musou game which looks very nice but is a bit complex at the minute. I don't watch the anime or know the characters but it's easy enough to skip and get into the battles.

Playing on Switch lite without slowdown or issues is nice. Pretty amazing to see so many enemies on screen at once. Im easily hitting 5k kills without trying and all attacks seem to have huge range.

Do far so good.

Wish my image sig would work

Decided to continue my third play through of TLoU.

Still also flipping between ME2 and SH Downpour.

Got Jedi Outcast and took more than an hour to complete the first mission. That review of Nintendo Life was so right. This first part of first-person shooter is so terrible, that as long as you have enough health the shock baton becomes a viable strategy for pretty much every fight against troopers.

I can't wait to get that lightsaber.

Illusion of Gaia on SNES. I owned this years ago under it’s PAL title Illusion of Time got very close to the end but never finished it.

Early days yet but thus far it’s a fun action RPG in a similar vein to Quintet’s earlier release Soul Blazer which I beat earlier this year.

Grid Autosport, been loving every minute of it so far but I’ve just tried my first drifting event, it did not go well :dread:

Replaying TLOU in preperation for the sequel, and yeah the opening is brilliant certainly the best opening for a game imo, I'm playing through on hard difficulty as the first time I only played on Easy, and it certainly feels much better to play this time around, trying to sneak and kill enemies is great. Shooting isn't that grand and the typical level layout is pretty much a carbon copy of the Uncharted games. Looking forward to seeing how much the sequel changes the gameplay up.

Uncharted 2 - just cleared the first two chapters of this and thankfully it's considerably better than the first already! :toot:

The cold opening is dramatic with the train crash awakening, and it looks incredible but gameplay wise I was still a bit wary - the traversal is still a bit clunky and slow although even this is better than the first game. Things pick up plenty in quick measure though and the flashback museum heist is just an excellent piece of work. All helped by the fact there is little to no shooting involved which was easily the worst aspect of 1!

Was it this bad years ago or is it due to console port?

I’m finding normal ridiculously hard on PS4. The gun never shoots where I point it

Didn’t realise you played as a Stormtrooper.......

Seriously though I’ve never played it, was tempted by the £8 asking price (and probably still will pick it up at some point) but it sounds like it could do with a bit of work to improve it or can people who played the original confirm if it is a true port of the original game?

In other news I’m still playing Link’s Awakening and Grid Autosport, nearing the end of Link’s Awakening as I’ve just arrived at the 7th temple/dungeon. Grid Autosport will definitely be more of a long term game for myself, making progress in the career mode or just having a blast doing time trials at the tracks on offer. Finally having a proper racing game on the Switch just makes me yearn for the F1 series to come out on it, still really looking forward to WRC 8 coming out on the Switch (now sadly in November) but I’m kind of worried we’re yet to see anything of the Switch version.

While I've never played Jedi Outcast on PC, I know Jedi Academy, and this feels exactly like that in terms of the shooty-shooty stuff. No doubt it is a straight-up port with little in the way of improvements. Everything is just way too loose, but I'm having fun trying different methods of avoiding getting one-shot because I always seem to be skirting close to no health for most of the missions. I'm just glad I can save wherever I want whenever I want, as it makes things a whole lot easier to deal with.

Yeah I think it’s a straight port - but they’ve made no allowances for difference input vs m+k vs stick

Some of the jumping is nasty as you’re floaty and a little bit of auto aim would be amazing

Going third person made things a bit easier with the jumping as you can actually see what you're doing. But the shooting's bad no matter the viewpoint.

Started Yakuza Kiwami 2 after a long spell of not playing much, and I didn't realise how much I missed these games, the u-turns of tone and content are amazing, and the latest dragon engine is a huge change from 0 and Kiwami 1. I bloody love the Yakuza games, now easily among my favourites of all time.

Breath of Fire on SNES. Started this a few times over the years but tend to get distracted and not finish it. I have a weekend free and two days off work. I plan on getting stuck into this and finally finishing it.

Early days yet but it seems a decent if fairly by the numbers JRPG.

Yeah as fun as they can be the shooting in both Outcast and Academy is questionable at best.

The lightsaber hasn’t made things better :(

Force powers from a menu, 1 active at a time, and you have to stop moving to press up on d pad to open menu :(

And yet these games are considered to have better combat than The Force Unleashed.
