They’ve not been translated to controllers with any thought or finesse at all

The LS vs LS combat might be amazing - but I can’t see myself pushing much further through

If you're using M&K I'd say yes. Controllers? No.

But that's just how the games were built. While I haven't played Force Unleashed with a keyboard and mouse, its systems were built for a controller, much the same as the Jedi Knight games were built for a keyboard&mouse. They both work for the way they're built, though I've played Jedi Academy with a keyboard&mouse, and still didn't think much of the combat. But despite that, I still find the series fun to play.

Maybe Jedi: Fallen Order will beat them both, anyway. Who knows?

Outcast and Academy's strength was its LS duels. I don't recall TFU having such a thing so no comparison in that environment can be made.

I think Fallen Order looks pretty limp so far.

The first has numerous lightsaber battles, but they were all self-contained and admittedly all terrible. The second has fewer battles, with only slight improvements, I think. But I was talking mostly on the control side of things, not the battles themselves. And at the minute, I'd say Fallen Order is about on level with Force Unleashed.

Gears 5. Single player campaign.

It's competent, but so far, that's all it really is. Looks pretty though.

Smash Bros Ultimate - Switch - hunting down spirits and loving every second of it. Every new character unlock is exciting but I always return to Kirby.

Fate Extella Link - Switch Lite - a great little hack and slash game. Dynasty warriors but with more characters on screen and bigger attacks.

Wish my image sig would work

Grow Home (PS4) - I've just done first half of the game and now onto the second half. It's great game, but has FPS problems where it can just.... be slow as hell. If I'm going to get the sequel it'll be on PC for higher chance of having smooth gameplay.

Persona 5 (PS4) - Back to it after taking break to play FFXIV, and I don't want to start Yakuza 0 yet as I'd like to play Judgement first before Yakuza 0. I enjoy these games but I tend to take lot of breaks with said games -- something bullshit happens, I just get fed up and told myself to play again later. That being said I do want to finish off Persona 4 Golden too... was near end of non-Golden arc but last boss wiped me out when he was nearly dead...

Is the last boss of Perosna 4 Ameno-Sagiri, the big eye ball?

Just beat that last night but the game kept going. I'm in mid-January now so surely there isn't that long left? 102 hours on the clock.

So I decided to return to Shadow of Mordor
Got as far as the 4 warchiefs and now finding it impossibly hard. Just not fun. I've got better things to do than be constantly frustrated by a poxy video game.

Glad I only paid £5 for it. Uninstalled.

No idea what to play now. That killed my mood stone dead.

Sounds about right. In original game, it ends there but if you've hit max support with Marie you'll get into Golden Arc.

I remember why I’ve always given up on Breath of Fire in the past... the encounter rate, it’s just ridiculous. Most of the time you can’t go more than a few steps without a random battle and it’s not even like they’re challenging either. The same rinse and repeat strategy works virtually every time with little deviation and the rewards are minimal meaning the battles exist solely to hinder your progress through the game.

I thought the early Dragon Quest games were bad but this is something else.

How long do you think I have left if I am on January 12th and want the True Ending? I estimate about five hours maybe and would like to get it done before Destiyn 2: Shadowkeep launches on Wednesday Japan-time.

That's assuming you have full support with her, if you don't you might be out of luck with getting true ending.
Doing something on January 2 is what triggers the ski trip mid-February,and therefore the golden ending.

My boyfriend said that, and as for if you have enough time... I doubt it. It's pretty long arc as I've heard, and given what my boyfriend also said, you'd have to be lucky and/or nolife it if you want to finish it before Destiny expac hits.

I've got Marie at full social link already.

As far as I'm aware, I just have to pass in-game time until I get to her dungeon, do that, then pass more in-game time until I get to one more dungeon (Izanami maybe?) and then that should be it. There's probably a lot of text and stuff to read through though. I have a couple of hours tonight and tomorrow before Destiny launches.

After only playing about an hour of DQ 11 on PS4 last year, I'm playing it on Switch now and it's glorious.

Futurama on XBOX. Picked this up in town today, payed a little more than I would have liked but then again it’s quite sought after in some circles I understand. Seems a decent platformer/shooter so far, nothing amazing. The platforming is a tad janky in places but it’s Futurama so it’s pretty funny at least.

I picked up Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom in the Xbox Sale this week, I'd been waiting for AGES for it to go on sale as it was Digital Foundry's John Linneman's game of 2018. It's gorgeous looking and the animation is top notch and it just has this kinda 'magic' about it, hard to describe, it's like how some Nintendo games have something inventive or indeed magical about them, this has all that stuff in spades, tons of little ideas and genius hidden areas make it quite the game. Love it.

Played some Fallout76 with Sophie again, after a rocky start working out the controls and exchanging ammo for the correct guns we set off just checking out towns etc. Had a great time, on X1X the game looks spectacular at times, especially the lighting with the autumnal trees, breath taking stuff. I also got stuck into Bad North's campaign again, I finished it on Easy but bearing in mind you can't save or retry and island if get it wrong it was quite difficult. Now with this free update 'jotunn edition' you can retry islands that you mess up on, I'm on the final island on 'normal' and I've had 1 failed attempt so far, I can't see this going well but I'll keep trying.

Played some DayZ, was hoping to just find a torch so I could go on a midnight treck to the Airfield (as the server numbers dwindle when the server hits night time) but haven't found a battery yet, annoyingly, I have a rifle, with an 8 times scope and 3 mags of ammo all ready to go but I can't take the mag our of the rifle, it's glitched....soooooo annoying.
