My time is currently split between a handful games at the minute. I reached chapter 5 of Yakuza Kiwami on PS4 last night, I've been playing Contact on DS on my commute to and from work and I'm streaming Final Fantasy on GBA and Sonic Mania on PS4.

Contact is pretty fun thus far. It's a quirky RPG from Grasshopper Manufacture with a bit of an Earthbound/Mother vibe to it. Seems a tad grindy but that's ideal for my daily commute as I can just fight a load of monsters without really worrying about story progression too much.

Currently playing Raging Loop on Switch. A good, ultra linear VN. Also dabbling in and out of Mario Maker 2 as it feels like i have neglected it for too long. Also Obran Dinn (which is great and i so i am savoring it)

Started Sherlock Holmes And The Devils Daughter on 1X the other day. Really enjoyed the first case, but the load times are bad and a bit off putting. I will probably start another case tomorrow though as i have a bit of free time to get my teeth in to it.

I’m up to chapter 7 in Yakuza Kiwami. Chapter 6 felt like a filler chapter, almost like a longer sub story but chapter 7 has the game back on track, the difficulty has noticeably spiked however.

If you're getting beaten up then go do more side stuff and level up more. It's hard to stay on Yakuza's difficulty curve, you either go too far and get bodied by story content or spend "too long" dicking about with side missions/minigames and then batter everyone who stands in your way. I'm play Kiwami 2 and have definitely done the latter.

I’ve done all the sub stories so far. I think it was more because I was farming enemies with the Dragon of Dojima style while it’s still relatively weak. I switched back to brawler and I’m doing fine.

The games do seem cheesable (is a word honest) with copious health drinks, though I suspect funding those becomes an issue if you haven't done lots of side stuff.

I had the same experience with Kiwami 2. I went out of my way to complete all the restaurant menus and sidequests, and as a result my stats were maxed out.

It made the final fight(s) on that construction site utterly laughable. Ryuji went down in less than 30 seconds.

Been working my way through Halo. MCC recently.

Got through Halo 3 recently pretty quickly. Enjoyed it at the time and still very good now. Especially the last few levels.

Went straight onto Halo 4. Played the first few levels a few years ago when I was in my "just playing FIFA stage" but didn't stick with it.

Not sure how it was generally received but I'm really enjoying it. Got some quite bad difficulty spikes though.

Started Bloodstained Ritual of the Night a couple of days ago. Having a good time with it so far. It certainly seems quite tricky, and i can see me hitting a wall with it, but for now its proving good fun to dip in to for an hour or two.

Currently replaying & trying to finish the gooseberry fool mountain game that is known as Geon

Still annoying. Still rubber band cheating AI. Still gooseberry fool. Still I think did they actually play this & think it was fun?.

A fun challenge is something like The Fourth Survivor in Resident Evil 2. Great fun, when I die I have the urge to do better & replay it.

A miserable challenge is something like Geon. The only challenge this game gives me is anger, frustration & probably high blood pressure.

I’m still on division 4, I dread to think how annoyed I’ll be when I get to division 1.

Just hit chapter 12 in Yakuza Kiwami and a cursory glance online suggests I’m nearing the end. Despite a bit of a lull around the midpoint it’s been a great game and I look forward to seeing how it ends.

Playign Burnout Paradise Remastered. Hate the races in this, the road rage challenges are awesome though.

Still sat on gooseberry fool mountain playing Geon. Been at it since 2pm (had a few breaks), & have won one match to progress a bit. :fp:

The shield is useless. A good shield would be something cool like what the Lannister army have. Instead I have some flimsy thing that last two seconds. That’s not a shield. A bin lid is a better shield than what this
piece of trash is offering. God damn.

The AI on this match is called “cleaver”. That’s a gooseberry fool name for an annoying twat. I had two dickheads yesterday called Iceman & Wolfman. Yeah right. More like wet lettuce man & little bitch.

Edit: An hour & a half later, I’ve beaten the scumbag. Yo cleaver, go chuck yourself in a ditch with Boris Johnson. You wet lettuce.

Edit 2: just checked the next stage & the AI is called “The Terminator”. Yeah right  .

More like the Tin man from The Wizard Of Oz

Another day, another post from gooseberry fool mountain.

Playing Geon & against an AI called “The Enforcer” who is more of a sore loser than Donald Trump. Score one goal against him & he loses his gooseberry fool. He will not leave you the strawberry float alone  . I’m like go away will ya. Following me around like some sort of gimp in your gimp suit

Edit: aaaaand relax took a bit doing but I got his name. I got his ass.

Warriors Orichi 4 - almost unlocked all characters (170 of them in total)

After hyrule warriors this is probably the best warriors game ever.

Wish my image sig would work

Got my A license in Burnout Paradise Remastered. Despite getting one hard lock, this is an extremely competent port. It runs like butter.

I forgot how much of a strawberry floating grind this game is though. And the annoying Marked Man and Races that make you race the whole way across the map are just gooseberry fool, I'm sorry.

I don't mind these events when they are short. But making me drive the whole way out into the middle of nowhere is just annoying as hell.

Stunt Runs and Road Rages are pretty cool though.

I'm nearing the end in Yakuza Kiwami now, I could have probably had it finished last night but I want to unlock all the Dragon of Dojima abilities, maybe fight Amon and clear all arena battles before I do. Annoyingly the abilities are mostly tied to Majima Everywhere meaning there's a fair amount of RNG involved.

I skipped a lot of those late-game things, there are at least 7 other games in the series waiting afterwards. You can carry on playing after finishing the story in 'premium' mode so you can finish it and then do all the side stuff.
