Pheonix Point

Around two hours in and I like what I've seen so far, plays very similarly to the XCOM games with some minor differences.

I’ve been playing Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen on PS3 this afternoon. It seems decent so far but despite playing for around 6 or so hours I still haven’t unlocked a single trophy.

EDIT: It turns out any trophies I would have unlocked I already had from the last time I played this back in 2013 :fp:

Hob: Definitive Edition

Started playing this on Switch tonight, it’s made by Runic, the team behind Torchlight who sadly was closed down a while ago. Panic Button are behind this port, published by Perfect World who I think own the Runic IP’s.

It’s an action platformer with some lite RPG elements (Buying skills and extra moves) I’m really liking it so far, it’s got a nice art style and looks great on the Switch screen. Will keep playing it over the Christmas break.

Wreckfest - PC

Gone back to this with my new GPU and it looks and runs a lot better now. I've given it another chance and am enjoying it now, although playing on expert AI and realistic damage means I'm avoiding doing the demolition derbies as they are absolutely lethal, and getting any points at all is down to luck more than anything else. Fortunately you don't have to do everything to progress, so I'm sticking to the normal racing instead. I had a look at the season pass but decided against it - the game has plenty of cars and parts already and I don't feel like i'm missing out by not having them. Maybe if i played online more I'd want to keep up with the jones'.

I was really struggling to make any progress in Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen until I realised that you could upgrade your existing gear as well as buy new stuff from vendors. It's still tough but now it's at least a manageable tough as opposed to can't even damage the frigging enemies tough and I've been managing to take down some of the larger monsters.

I think my game maybe glitched however as I'm lead to believe you acquire the permanent fast travel item upon reaching the game's major city but I don't have it yet. Without it getting around the game world takes bloody ages. A good chunk of my time so far has been spent going back and forth from the starting town to the city to pick up and turn in quests.

I’ve made quite a bit of progress in Dragons’s Dogma Dark Arisen. It’s cool seeing larger monsters such as the Chimera, Cyclops and Golem become pretty trivial after struggling with them early on.

Still can’t kill the Drake that spawns near the exit from the quarry however. I got close but lacked healing items, I reckon a few more level ups and plenty of healing items and I’ll have it killed.

Yukuza Kiwami

Just reached chapter 7. This is my second Yakuza game after 0 and I love how familiar Kamurocho feels

The quality and abundance of substories thus far has been much weaker though. Feels a lot more linear.

The Outer Worlds - I'm enjoying it but it hasn't hooked me yet. Same goes for DragonBall FighterZ. Fighting the urge to splash more cash on games to make up for the lack of hook... even though the game I'm eyeing up is from a series I love, and I have now taken a lengthy break from. (Yakuza Kiwami 2.)

Daemon X Machina - Switch Lite - really enjoyable mech game. Got loads of upgrades and getting the hang of the game mechanics now.

Control - crap map aside it's good fun and I've just unlocked what I think is the final gun form. The game feels a bit like The Evil Within 2 but with additional movement and abilities.

River City Girls - Switch Lite - not sure what to make of this yet. Done the first boss. It's fun and has a great soundtrack.

Outer Worlds. I think this is starting to get its hooks in me. Did some quests and it was fun.

Borderlands 3 - Think I'm about done with this. It's more Borderlands, for better and even more so for worse. For me the game is too big and bloated that it's become repetitive. Too much loot, levels too big and drawn out, and it has some horrible difficulty spikes. The boss on the Blood Drive level has probably been the straw that broke the camel's back for me - both with this iteration and quite possibly the franchise.

As I'm moving out of the family home I decided to hand over my PSN account to my daughter being as she shared it with me for Fortnite etc and create a whole new account for myself. Saves hassle. Little monkey has gained about £200 worth of digital titles, although some she isn't currently allowed to download (horror games mainly).

Bonus my end? I get to play some of my favourite games all over again from this gen thanks to the January sale.

Currently going through AC Origins once more and and have Days Gone on standby.

Thought I might as well get it on with Drive Club, as they’re switching the servers off soon (yay online gaming everyone, yay :| , wooohoo party time mummy strawberry floaters.)

Fantastic game let down by Sony been a bunch of melters as I can’t get any of the dlc cars. I strawberry floating hate it when games rely to be online to get the content.

Pisses me off to no end. Been looking online to see if there was some dlc packs to be bought but no such luck. Seems I would of been only able to buy it from the PlayStation store. What a load of shite :x :capnscotty:

Dark Souls Remastered on PS4. I’ve finished this a bunch of times before but it’s been a while since I last played it so it’s just the right mix of familiar yet still fresh.

Had a bit of a mare on NYE as I was too drunk and got a tad lost in Darkroot Garden. Went back last night and made some solid progress offing the Moonlight Butterfly, Havel, Capra Demon and Gaping Dragon.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the frame rate in Blight Town is like as I hear it’s finally pretty stable.

The Division 2
Been playing through the first few missions and it feels incredibly similar to the original, which is no bad thing at all. Game looks lovely too.
