It's huge - how many hours do you reckon to get there?

It's been under construction since lockdown began. :toot:

As i've said before, i have no idea how many hours i've put into this game and wish there was a way to find out.

Yeah was just wondering if you had a ballpark figure - must be pretty crazy

You're playing on PS4 right? If they do another "year in review" thing you will probably be able to get some stats, they definitely track them behind the scenes!

The Surge 2 - PS4 - they took dark souls and decided to make all the areas look the same with a million short cuts back to areas that look the same. Such a confusing world to navigate.

Gameplay is fun, weapons are varied and I can grind to make the game easier.

Wish my image sig would work

Yeah, when the time comes i'm sure it'll still be my most played title.

Never played it before so have no idea what to expect, not sure about the super deformed look of the characters, I prefer the slightly more realistic look of FFVIII and the most recent FF's.

Playing this at the moment. I have to agree about the characters, but the game is strawberry floating great. The quality of life improvements make it way better. It's a crazy tale.

I don't like the ATB system, even when its set to wait the enemies still seem to carry out their turn while I'm trying to navigate the action menu.

Isn't that just the ATB system being set to Active rather than Wait?

Been a really long time since I played any FF, but I seem to recall that being a thing in the PS1 FFs.

Wait only kicks in whenever you actually go into the sub menus (like magic, sword arts, items etc).

I can see what Ironhide is talking about there, because it caught me off guard as well. Might be different in the other FF games on the PS1 though, I can't really remember.

I've gotten used to the ATB system now, it was just a bit jarring at first having only played the 'traditional' turn based FF games.

Just got to the village of Dali and rescued Vivi

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. A warm blanket of a game. I just love being in its world.

I've been meaning to get back to that for a couple of years now but I can't seem to bring myself to replay nearly 60 hours to get back to the point where my save file got corrupted.

I have the two sequels still unplayed too.

I'm about eight hours into Assassin's Creed: Origins on the PS4 - and it's bloody huge, isn't it? Progressed the story about three 'levels' so I'm in Alexandra, but I've spent most of the past few hours backtracking to level up. Currently at Level 16 and, for the first time, have noticed how long it's taken me to get from 16 to 17.

This is the first Assassin's Creed game i've played since the third one, which I disliked so much all those years ago, I've not played one since! Origins also looks gorgeous on the PS4 Pro.

Felt a bit lost after the exceptional Control and Return of the Obra Dinn. I must have tried over 20 games but none of them hooked me. (Not counting Tetris Effect.) Then I got desperate and tried Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchairidion and am happy to say I am really enjoying it :D
Dunno why I said 'desperate'... maybe I thought it'd be another iffy license game. Thankfully, it's well realised, with the game making you feel like you're in the The Land of Ooo as opposed to a approximation of it.

S: Neither was the last one. It was a robbery. M: Really? S: Yeah. She stole my heart. And my crown. (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)

Loved that game, Odyssey is even better as it improves on the format Origins used.

Metroid Samus Returns (3DS)
Finally beat the Area 6 digger boss, pain the arse this one as the spin jump can feel pretty hit and miss to get it to constantly work. Whilst I have enjoyed it I am really hoping it wraps up soon.

What the Golf? (NS)
Now this is a lot of fun, I went it blind and only grabbed it due to word of mouth and it’s as crazy and random as I was hoping it would be and more. It seems to have quite a bit of content as well so that’s good.

Long Live Switch Squad!

Tbh, I thought this game was nowhere as good as people said it was. I was looking forward to it ending, and that is not usually a good feeling to have.

Mega Man Legacy Collection on PS4.

I started playing through these back in 2017 but came a cropper toward the end of Mega Man 3, those strawberry floating Doc Robots. Rather than jump straight back in to one of the hardest stages in the game after a long layoff I thought I'd start from the beginning and work back up to number 3. I beat 1 and 2 again yesterday morning/afternoon and made good progress in 3 offing all 8 Robot Masters and beating the first of 4 Doc Robot stages. The new turbo CPU option is a godsend removing the slowdown that plagued the series and especially Mega Man 3.

The stage I am up to now is a bit of a nuisance as you you have to beat the second half in one run. It relies heavily on the Rush Jet ability and topping it up with fixed ammo pickups which don't respawn meaning if you don't make it first time you may as well just reset and start the stage over from a password save.

Installed the Moguri Mod for Final Fantasy IX which upscales all the pre-rendered backgrounds and a few other things.

Everything looks so much better, pity Sqeenix couldn't be arsed to do it themselves.

I just finished a replay of FF IX a day or so ago!

I loved it. Its often light and charming in tone but still with some genuinely great character development and themes explored (Vivi!). And playing it again, I think I never actually finished the final sequence or if I had, couldn't remember it well. The ending is a beaut and I got a little emosh.

I played it on Switch, but did a lot of browsing of the Moguri Mod and so on which looks fantastic and I'm a little jealous.

I'm actually just here at my laptop to write an article about it this morning, and am still high on the feeling from finishing it.

Bit of a tip about Rush Jet. If you continually jump while on him, it depletes the energy meter slower. The energy meter will only deplete if MM is standing on Rush Jet. This makes that stage a bit easier as you can conserve energy better. It also highlights how Rushjet is completely broken, it makes the platforming in this game trivial.

I just finished the Xbox One version a few days ago. It's a brilliant game, I'd forgotten so much about it.

Cheers for the tip but I think it's more me being stubborn that makes the stage harder. The Rush Jet bit is okay but the checkpoint is at the start of it, I tend to die in the next section. I have full E Tanks and know I can quite easily replace them but I'm determined not to use any.

You'll get it dude. The Doc Robot levels are the hardest, the stuff after that isn't too bad.
