Campaign or multiplayer? I'd say it's anything but samey in the campaign - the platforming and flowing movement make it play differently to other shooters along with the added variety of mech combat, and each level introduces a new gameplay concept to base itself around.

I'm playing Campaign. Still pretty early on just defeated Ash (second boss anyway). It feels a bit like run across some pipes shoot a few guys and then get into mech and wander around for a bit.

There's some really nice touches. Running through a factory and then up all those houses on their sides was cool.

Titanfall 2 campaign is great, there's some really cool ideas in there which could easily be stretched out for a whole game if they'd wanted to, particularly what you're doing in one of the later levels which I won't spoil but nothing overstays its welcome.

Be interesting to see what you think. I enjoyed it but have no idea why it got so hyped.

Yeah it’s good but not amazing. I think it had that exclusivitis that some games get.

I dunno, I heard hype from places that aren't really biased towards any console but I basically kept playing because of some amazing story moment that was supposed to happen and it never did. Again it was interesting enough and I liked the characters but I can't remember anything about it now.

Still plugging away at Ni No Kuni 2, and its...fine? I think i'm close to the end, but the plot has been a bit thin, the characters are a bit one-dimensional and the sidequests have mostly been fetch missions, which are either resolved instantly because you happen to have hoovered up the random item of choice they want or aren't resolved at all because they want something incredibly rare or in the journal it doesn't tell you what they asked for. I also constantly feel like i'm under-levelled, leading to a lot of just running around fighting things which takes a long time. I've got the DLC but I'm not sure I want to bother with it when i'm done with the main story.

Picked up Divinity 2 on Switch in the sale, and I'm already overwhelmed. Don't often play RPGs, but hoping to have a good time with my witty knight. I like the fact you can talk to sheep.

I started another run of Demon's Souls last night as I want to beat it as a pure melee character and without abusing backed up saves. I beat the first boss but I feel I'm gonna have to start over already as I've wasted a load of items due to my pad being old and a bit dodgy. It kept performing weird actions I definitely didn't make like using items, switching weapons, two handing my weapon and rolling.

I thankfully have a new pad being delivered from Argos this evening.

Titanfall 2 Campaign is awesome.

Playing Ori 2. I'm at the water area, kinda lost, I think I need a new ability for swimming faster?

My new PS3 pad turned up so I tried it out with a quick game of Demon’s Souls.

After trying a couple of different character classes I managed to beat the boss at the end of the tutorial (for those not aware of this he’s meant to kill you but you can actually beat him). I went with a Temple Knight, took all my armour off, 2 handed my halberd and he wasn’t too bad a fight.

The reward is minimal but cool nonetheless, you get a small bonus area with a few healing items and some basic upgrade materials but there’s also a cool cutscene of a late game boss absolutely wrecking you.

I found out via a Twitch streamer I checked out shortly afterwards that there is a private server for Demon’s Souls now that not only restores full online functionality to the game it adds the ability to manually change world tendency which is a god send if you want to see everything the game has to offer.

The Witcher 3 just keeps getting better and better. Can totally understand why people think this is the game of the generation. I haven't played anything like this with such a depth of narrative and intertwined quests.

Devil May Cry 5 is doing nothing for me. The combat feels a bit clunky compared to Bayonetta.

Modern Warfare. The best CoD has ever been. Fantastic.

Tried to get into Doom 2. I don't think the first Doom game and this have aged well. The level design veers from being pretty good, to gimmicky and utterly annoying.

Played up to this level called Tricks and Traps in Doom 2. Makes you do the whole level and then strawberry floats you in ass right at the end if you don't walk on the platforms quickly. That is just dumb as gooseberry fool, it doesn't really respect your time.

Not really having much luck with picking games lately. The last three I tried either annoyed me (this), or they were a bit strawberry floating messy (Nier, Ori 2).

I played through the opening section of Nier Automata, and holy gooseberry fool is it some ridiculous anime stuff just right off the bat. Planes that morph into mechs, enemies that are oil rigs, characters that don't seem to care that they're fighting things 100x their size. I knew it was a game that mashed up genres, but I didn't expect the shmup gameplay to follow over into the on foot sections.

I don't think I'm ready for this, so I went back to playing something sensible, like Yakuza Kiwami.

Started Asura's Wrath, which is more cutscene than game.

Th cutscenes are really good though. Gameplay is a bit basic, but it works.

The one that's called Modern Warfare.

Aren't there about 3 called Modern Warfare? Forgive my ignorance I don't play CoD.

The original, the remaster and the reboot.

There is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare. I'm only messing, the series naming is a mess as they only have faith in two branches of the series. This is confused even more with the remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that has just been released.

This would be the perfect Dragonball Z game style!

Wish they would bring Astra’s Wrath out on current systems with all the DLC bundled.
