Still banging my head against the wall in Dark Souls II DLC. Every time I start making any progress a boss turns up to strawberry float me over. It’s been a good while since I’ve been this angry with a video game, it’s just so bloody hard.

Man of Medan. I’m loving it so far, though one of my characters died at the end of the chapter with seemingly no build up. It just cut to him lying in a pool of blood :|

Man of Medan was actually pretty decent, looking forward to the next game in the series.

Lego Rock Band DS. Picked this up relatively cheaply the other day and been playing a fair bit over the weekend, very enjoyable game with a decent tracklist. I'd love if Harmonix brought Rock Band back with this gameplay for Switch.

I'm in the later levels now and it's just so much fun. There's so much exploding on screen at once and the act of strafing while unloading an arsenal of crazy weaponry and hoovering up a storm of bolts is just so satisfying.

I played the PS3 titles back in the day but they're a distant memory now so this is a really refreshing change of pace. Even more excited for the PS5 game now.

It's a shame there are planets missing in that remake/reboot from the original game

Hades - switch lite - getting into it and have just unlocked the gun. Still think I prefer the captain American shield. It's a great game but so far it's not Dead Cells level of perfection.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 - PS4 Pro - runs like a dream and the new giant characters are great fun. A lot of stuff to unlock and grind. The pause for a mini cut scene each time I do certain attacks is very annoying though. Stops it from beating Fire Emblem Warriors as best musou game.

Variety in characters is excellent. Even the dullest looking characters turning into a robot, magma or giant and it's fun to see how they all play. Wish Buggy the clown played better though, great design but poor move set.

Wish my image sig would work

Hades - really enjoying it. I didn’t enjoy Dead Cells at all and am generally not a fan of run based games, but this and Children of Morta has taught me that I enjoy Rogue Lites but not Rogue Likes. I think.
Love all the story progression and the whole setting. It feels like a steal at the 18 quid Switch introductory sale price. Runs lovely for the most part too.

Hades

Final boss bested for the 2nd time :toot: Only took 3 or 4 attempts. Breezed through to him with only one Death Defiance used up (strawberry float you Theseus!) despite having added bosses modifier to start of run. So yeah, quite pleased with that. Not sure how long my interest will last, but this is definitely the best of the isometric games from Supergiant.

Goldeneye 007 DS
Picked this up the other week and it's a so-so portable version of the brilliant Wii game, levels have been watered down quite a bit mind. Just completed the tank level and it's very enjoyable, even if the frame rate is pretty bad.

Started playing Mad Max and I'm enjoying it. Not sure how long it'll keep my attention but the atmosphere is bang on and the explosions are awesome.

Took out a convoy boss this morning and, with barely any health, I had to swerve off the beaten track, speeding across sand dunes while three other vehicles chased me down. After a tense chase, I managed to slow down and dive into the wreck of a sunken ship where the War Boys also abandoned their cars only for me to beat them up one by one.

It was glorious!

After getting my ass kicked by a couple of bosses I was very, very close to giving up on the Dark Souls II DLC entirely but today I came incredibly close to killing Elana the Squalid Queen then decided to try the Cave of the Dead and finally killed the gank squad that awaits you there.

This has massively restored my confidence in beating this DLC.

You'll love the other 2 DLCs.

Playing Command and Conquer Remastered Collection what a great game, I remember playing C&C and Red Alert on the first playstation. Great memories. I played the hell out of Red Alert as a kid. I also love that they brought skirmish mode to the original.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 (PS4)
Currently halfway through THPS1. I keep meaning to have quick, short, blasts of it, but, I always get sucked into playing it for a couple of hours. It's such a good game!

Rocket League (PS4)
I'm shite at this!

Also, it was my son's birthday last week and he got quite a few games, so been working through them with him...

Jurassic World Evolution (PS4)
Spent a while figuring out how to work it and not lose money, but now everything has fell into place and the park is running successfully on the first island. Its actually quite relaxing so far; albeit I haven't had any major disasters with dinos escaping as yet!

Untitled Goose Game (Switch)
Going through this in 2 player. A lot of fun but a little frustrating when your partner doesn't go in the same direction as you (due to being bound to the one screen). Looking forward to trying to figure out the additional tasks.

Lego DC Super Villains (PS4)
Again, 2 player. We've worked through a lot of these lego games and the formula is pretty much the same as always; but, 2 player is enjoyable and the production values are better than ever.

LTTP. I've been playing Nioh on PC after picking it up cheap on Steam. What an incredible game. I like my Soulsborne games and I like Diablo and this has aspects of both, but its mission structure and web of systems and upgrades means it's very much it's own game. It's difficult, but I seem to be progressing well and feel like a bad-ass much of the time. Fingers crossed I don't hit too many brick walls as I tend to do in Dark Souls games.

Figured I'd have a look at Forza Horizon 4 to see what the options are for casual multiplayer stuff, considering it's on gamepass and a few more friends will be picking up xboxes soon. Why can I not just leap straight into the online? :dread: Literally all I wanted to do was check what modes it had and if it could do private sessions, and so far all I've done is the boring intro section and now I have to "qualify" before I can even look at the online menu?

Really daft. Why bother locking players out of basic functions like that? It's a racing game, I don't exactly need to get to grips with the mechanics before I can play against other people. And let's face it, if the other people I want to play with also just want to muck about in the online, they're not going to like having to play through half an hour of rubbish to get to it. Initial impressions? Disappointing.

Bring back PGR :x
