Currently playing through TLoU2 and really enjoying it.

10 hours in spoilers.

Before Hilcrest

That flashback to Ellie's birthday was strawberry floating perfect. Holy strawberry float that was emotional.

Finally giving Resident Evil 3 a second play and Carlos looks so much better with his classic hair 8-)

2 is definitely the better game but this is still great. Much more of an explosive, action packed romp than 2.

Paper Mario: The Origami King (Nintendo Switch - Still chipping my way through this, I do like the game but it’s not grabbing me in that ‘I can’t wait to see what’s next’ way so I sort of play it every other night at the moment.

MCC: Halo Reach (Xbox One) - Also have this on the go right now, really enjoying playing through this campaign again. Runs and looks great on my bog standard Xbox One. Just about halfway through on this now.

Started Mario and Rabbids. It's alright so far.

Also stuck on Spelunky on PC. I played this years ago but I don't really remember much about it.

Judgment

Only 2 hours in but first impressions are great. Basically, it's Yakuza with detective elements and crime scene investigations. The cutscenes are really slick and enjoyable too, a massive step up from Yakuza 4 which was the last one I played.

I'm still waiting to see how far in to Yakuza Kiwami 2 i am by the last day of the sale on this. I really want to play it, but my Ps4's are both so noisy i don't enjoy gaming on them any more.

I would be interested to hear about how well the various mechanics are integrated with one another. I love the Yakuza games, but each system seems somewhat unrelated to the next one. Kiwami 2 has improved this, with hunger and eating tied directly to XP and so on, but the completion list bonuses are so inconsequential it does not give any incentive in its own right to try and do better on the mini games etc. Not a problem, but it makes it feel a bit less cohesive than it otherwise would.

I'll let you know how I get on with it but first impressions make me think it'll be one of my absolute favourite of this franchise.

I love Phoenix Wright and Sherlock Holmes so the crime investigation vibe I'm getting from this is right up my street. I'm really hoping it becomes a main gameplay mechanic similar to in the aforementioned games. The way I'm building evidence certainly feels like I'm going to have to "present" my case at some point.

I'm finding Game Pass to be great value for money. I just wish I'd read up on it more before buying my One X, since I bought several games that I could otherwise have played for 'free' on the subscription.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
This is a really interesting game. Maybe the first I've played with mental illness front and center? Playing the game with good headphones is an fantastic (albeit it creepy) experience. I'm not too far into this yet - just passed the warning about the 'perma-death' which made me stop and look into it more. Good so far, albeit it quite dark and intense.

Fortnite
The definition of late to the party here. I needed something light-hearted and colourful to play after playing Hellblade for an hour or so. Downloaded this the night before having never played it before, and I'm enjoying it. I do feel a bit "How do you do, fellow kids?" when playing it, but it's fun. The game menus are confusing as strawberry float, though. Other than that it's colourful, polished and I can see myself sinking some hours into this when I need a quick pick-up and play game. Plus I want that robot cat avatar.

State of Decay II
Unfortunately, I picked this up on Amazon for £5 before realising it was on game pass. Played this for a grand total of 30 minutes before uninstalling it and putting it back in the box. I heard it had issue at launch and that things had improved significantly since, so I thought I'd give it a shot. In short, it feels like a game from 2004. Glitchy animations, bad dialogue and very limited character selections options. Not for me.

Fable: Anniversary
I was really looking forward to replaying this. Unfortunately, the frame-rate is shambolic on the One X :(

Murder by Numbers

Revisited this after bouncing off it on the first attempt and while I still don't really like the art style, tone or characters (the intro song still annoys me) I don't exactly hate it any more.

Finished Assassins Creed: Odyssey last night. Properly finished, all DLC, all quests, bar one stupid collecting polemarch seals quests and all achievements. Been a long time since I went out of my way to get some achievements but it felt good to intentionally finish up a couple of them before I completed the story quests. A solid 148 hours and I loved every second of it. Cant wait for Valhalla now, I dont see how it could be a better game but if it scratches the same itch Ill be happy enough.

Mario and Rabbids is legit awesome. Why did I sleep on this? Just made it to the top of the big thing and I started fighting Rabbid Kong.

Comfortably in the top 10 Switch games for me. I really hope they're doing a sequel. Make sure you get the DK DLC when you're done too, it's brilliant.

I still need to play the DK DLC! I absolutely would have played a sequel already, DLC is just so easy to put off

I'm currently playing the Switch Fire Emblem 10 hours in and enjoying it, even if I don't give much of a monkeys about walking round the hub bit.

I done 2 playthroughs of this and the hub was the worst part of this game. I just skipped most of that shite on my second playthrough. It wasn't vaguely involving.

Taking a break from Nioh 2 as I have finished the DLC but the new difficulty setting is brutal and removes a lot of fun from the game.

Currently I'm playing Warriors Orichi 4 Ultimate Edition.

Lots of new modes and so much grinding. Probably the second best Musou game after Fire Emblem Warriors. Over 100 characters, most of them very different to play as too.

Wish my image sig would work
