I'm playing the 2016 Hitman, and not quite sure what to think. I was a HUGE fan of the first four games, but didn't go near Absolution.

I've only gone through the training and one play through of the Paris mission, so I know I'm barely scratching the surface. It's cool there are a ton of ways to kill the targets, but I ended up getting silent assassin without using any of the opportunities. Got rid of a few guards with coin throws, then knocking them out and hiding the bodies before being able to just break the necks of the targets without anyone seeing. I guess it's more up to you now, but I liked in the earlier games it was like a puzzle, working out how to get the silent assassin rating.

Not sure whether to play Paris a couple more times and be more creative, or if I should move on and just see if Silent Assassin enforces more creativity in later levels. I know Sapienza was very highly received at the time of release.

Paris is absolutely one of the best levels. I don't think it's particularly difficult to get "silent assassin" anymore but it still feels cool as strawberry float. I think the appeal now is in discovering every unique way to kill the targets, rather than the one specific way to do it completely silently.

Hitman and Hitman 2 are the best the series has ever been so hopefully it clicks with you once you've played a bit further.

The appeal is absolutely in replaying the same levels over and over to complete all the different challenges and see everything the game has to offer. Getting silent assassin shouldn't be thought of as finishing a level the best you can, although it is certainly more difficult to do in later levels.

You might enjoy the escalations also, which continually ramp up the restrictions on how you must complete the assassination.

I really, really liked Hitman 2016 - a huge comeback for the series and definitely my favourite now. I have still failed to get round to playing the sequel though, really need to do something about that,

New game from Steam, and this one is Temtem - the Pokémon-esque monster catching RPG. I decided to go for it upon looking at the store page for it having seen the trailer yesterday, and mechanically it works great. I did have a spot of bother with it to start with - as for whatever reason it had defaulted to Ultra quality settings and kept crashing itself. Slowly but surely it managed to get itself to the menu upon repeat loads, where I was able to get those settings down to medium, and after that it worked great. Aside from character names not allowing capitalisation in the middle of words, so I'm Dark-Rula within the game.

Largest differences from Pokémon are every battle is a double battle, with the battle mechanics being built around a stamina bar. It looks great, and the music is nice and relaxing in the overworld, with the battle theme feeling more energetic while still keeping that relaxed tone. While I'm not far into the story yet, it does feel like a proper world has been crafted here, with NPCs having multiple things to say if you allow them to. Even those trainers who want to battle with you will have multiple options that you can choose from to reflect how you would react in that situation.

Is it a Pokémon beater? Hard to say as of yet, but if any monster catching RPG has a chance to do it, this is probably the one.

Started Killzone 2 today. Enjoying it, but I will definitely change around the crouch and iron sight buttons on my return home from work.

L2 to crouch and click on the right stick to look down the sights? Nope. :dread:

It sort of intuitively makes sense because right stick is to do with aiming, but R3 is not a very nice button to press so yeah

Quake 2 RTX (PC) - Finally got around to installing my new RTX GPU and thought I would give this a bash. Damn it looks good! It's ridiculous how something as "simple" as adding ray tracing elements to a 20+ year old game can make it feel so different but they've done a great job with this. I wasn't that convinced by the various videos I'd seen of ray tracing recently but once you get to actually have a play with it you can see just how big an impact it could have on future games.

Titanfall 2 (PS4) - Started giving this a replay after picking it up on PS4 via PS+. I completed it on PC back when it was released but it still such a great game to play. How the hell this didn't make a bigger splash I will never know because it is just a fantastic FPS.

I liked the look of this, but as it's built for co-op I don't see my getting it until I know someone who'll play through it with me. Keep us updated on how it goes :D

Wasn't it released a week before battlefield and a week after CoD?

True, this probably didn't help. :(

It's considerably better than both of those games though in my opinion!

Perfectly playable solo. In fact, I'd say it's better that way, as the strategy is purely in your own hands. I can see how co-op would make the experience better, however.

Now we just need to convert millions of other people to the cause and we might one day get Titanfall 3!

To be fair I only tried Apex Legends for about 5 minutes and was mainly just upset that it wasn't more Titanfall so there's every chance that it's good. Battle Royale just doesn't really appeal to me sadly.

Other than BRcade obviously ;)

Went back last night with this mentality and enjoyed myself a lot more. It's quite good actually because in the past I've always played these games, aiming for silent assassin to unlock cool things and then telling myself I'll go back later to have fun with them... but typically never go back.

Really enjoying Devilish Brain Training on the 3DS, some of the excerises are really clever.
The only thing I don't like is that you have to play everyday for about a month and a half to unlock everything, oh and DrKawashima never shut's up.

Unsurprisingly, still WRC 8 (really do mean to get back to The Witcher 3 and Pokémon Shield at some point ), now graduated from junior WRC to the WRC 2 Pro category, how long I stay there is another question though

How is WRC8? I do like the look of it. It's holding its price though.
