It has a few improvements brought over from the sequels such as a mini map and other little tweaks. The gameplay loop is still addictive.

Still cracking on with this, such an addictive game, love the loot hunting aspect and gaining better gear as you go along. I’ve reached New Haven so I don’t think I have overly long to go, once I’ve wrapped this up I’ll go into the Zombie Ned DLC.

Finished up the main game last night, beat The Destroyer as level 36 (creature is 33) and completed all the available side missions I had left. Still love it and probably the most fun I’ve had playing a game so far this year. I need to make a start on the DLC but I think I’ll take a little break and play something shorter before jumping back in.

Still chipping away at Doom 2. The level design in this game is so strawberry floating shite times. It does an awful job of hinting where you should go a lot of the time. Press button, look around the map for 5 minutes trying to figure out what it actually did.

The shooting is great and it keeps this game from being a complete mess.

I finished Zelda LttP. Finishing a Zelda is a pretty unique gaming experience - they're quite long (or at least I take a long time with them) and do take some mastery so theres always that mix of acomplishment and sadness the journey is over. There probably loads of RPG that could do the same for me but I really like a foundation of the familiar and I like that the main beats of the story are pretty similar in all the Zelda I've played - theres a thread running through these games thats give each entry a familarity which means I'm emmersed right from the get-go. I haven't played LttP since I was a kid and it holds up really well - obviously a reason why this game is considered a classic.

I play it every year. It's probably my favourite game

Play A Link Between Worlds if you haven't already.

Cheers I might have to try A Link Between Worlds. I really love Zelda games (I've completed LttP, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, BotW, Links Awakening) but I'm pretty rubbish and I do seem to get on better with the top-down ones.

I had to invest quite a bit of time to finish LttP but surprising how little fatigue I feel for the Zelda formula. Normally when finishing a game I tend to go for something completely different (before I went from Wolfenstein 2 to Super Luckys Tale!). But I just want more Zelda - its a shame the Switch is so light on legacy content so I won't get to play any more :(

I've gotten to the dark world and haven't been back in a while. Found playing on the Switch a bit of a pain.

In what way? In terms of button mapping the switch controller has the four buttons laid out as the snes, you've four save states and can leave / pick up the game when you like and the its the best hardware in terms of screen size and clarity for portability the game has ever been released on.

Was it the analogue stick instead of the d-pad?

Yeah man, the analogue stick feels wrong compared to ALBW and LA and the DPad is awkward to use.

First time since Animal Crossing came out I’ve actually loaded something else up as the Bunny Day stuff is doing my head in a bit

Back on with WRC 8 for the time being, get a couple of rallies out of the way. Might get on The Witcher 3 as well and do a few more quests.

A Hat in Time

Bright, colourful and not without some old school platforming charm. It definitely feels like a game from a decade or 2 ago! Some frustrating game design and precision platforming hold it back from being anything more than decent though.

As much as I love Lttp, in the SNES era I think The Secret of Mana is far superior.

They had a white supremacist voice acting in that game so I’ll never play it.

Be interesting to see what you think. I enjoyed it but have no idea why it got so hyped.

Yeah it’s good but not amazing. I think it had that exclusivitis that some games get.

Maybe, think it's more that it's a Platinum game tbh.

They've knocked it out of the park with several of their games. As a developer, I think they hit the mark more than they miss. Nier Automata doesn't.

I know plenty likeit, though.I haven't played. It. I was just saying I think the hype is more that it's a Platinum game than an exclusive.

Played river city girls. It actually amazing fun, the story is completely nuts in an actually quite funny kind of way. It doesn't feel to Grundy yet.

Hime wrote:The Witcher 3 just keeps getting better and better. Can totally understand why people think this is the game of the generation. I haven't played anything like this with such a depth of narrative and intertwined quests.

Devil May Cry 5 is doing nothing for me. The combat feels a bit clunky compared to Bayonetta.

Modern Warfare. The best CoD has ever been. Fantastic.

is there a thread for the Witcher 3.

I've downloaded it on Game pass, never played it before.

It's great. Anyone got any tips for crafting/alchemy. I'm finding it all a bit overhwelming at the mo.

Also is it best to sell items or dismantle them for materials. Can junk do anything else other than be used for selling/dismantling.

So many questions!

Oh also is DLC on the game pass version?

I’m attempting to play The Witcher 2 because everyone says how great 3 it, but it’s a little impenetrable - all of the lore to catch up on, and I still can’t make head nor tail of the combat. In the tutorial combat area at the very start, there’s a challenge to see how many people you can kill to determine your recommended difficulty. My score? Zero.
