I'd probably say it's the best game in the entire franchise.

I've decided that Yakuza 3 is a bit gooseberry fool, actually.

I think there's a strong argument for it being the best of the lot, but there is strong competition from RE:HD, Threemake and Biohazard, which I've just gone through and it's monumental.

I'm at the half way point in Kiwami 2 atm. Having only played 0 and Kiwami 1, it's more than a bit derivative at this point. Even some of the side missions are the same. That said, I was still tempted to pick up the Remastered Collection and play through in order... in what way is 3 gooseberry fool?

It's mostly the combat, which is really cheap and irritating. I'm only on chapter 9 with a lot of upgrades yet to unlock, but so far there's been no real way to break an enemy's guard effectively. Once you do break it, they've already got it back up by the next hit. Throws work well on generic mooks, but they're useless on bigger enemies and bosses. So a lot of the fights end up being arduously long loops of dashing attacks to chip away minute amounts of health while chugging health and heat drinks. To say nothing of the fights with 5+ enemies, half of which have tasers, that just throws into stunlock hell for a good five minutes.

Apart from that, the story content and even the substories just aren't as interesting as 0/K1/K2.

Black Desert online. Great game but really time consuming

I finished Yakuza 3.

And by finished it I mean I ran through the story in about 35 hours (compared to 100 each in 0/K1) and I'm never touching the strawberry floating thing again.

Tony Hawk Downhill Jam
Been playing this on my DS and it's quite a fun little game, I really do like the art style but I'm not overally keen on the downhill aspect of this as I'd prefer the exploration style of the Pro Skater series.

Goldeneye DS
Picked this up for a few quid a couple of weeks ago, and I'm been playing a fair bit of it and it's not a bad recreation of the Wii game, some levels have been cut, but the multiplayer is here. Wii version is still better mind.

I've tried to get back into Mario kart and complete the rest of the 200CC cups, and I'm really struggling on a few tracks with bends seemingly too tight to actually corner around. I looked online for an optimum build, and it helped a lot, but there's still a few courses with a bend that seems far too sharp to actually go around without having to stop. Last corner on rainbow road at the moment is really getting me. Utterly infuriating.

You want to be drift braking with a high acceleration kart. Speed absolutely does not matter with 200cc.

Drift braking? I know about drifting, but drift braking?

Brake while drifting

It's basically only needed in 200cc

When you drift, you need to hold B as well as A to slow down enough to make tighter turns. In 150cc, the drift will end after a few seconds, but on 200cc you can keep it held for a long time before it does end your drift.

Wasteland 3

Put a couple more hours into this and I'm beginning to really like it, its an almost perfect mix of XCOM and Fallout.

Is Wasteland 3 a completely standalone game or is it best to play 2 first? It sounds so good and right up my street.

I haven't played the other Wasteland games (I have 2 in my Steam library though) but don't think it's necessary to enjoy this.

I don't think its a true sequel to the other games, more a standalone game in the same setting/universe.

Still The Witcher 3, the side quests in this game are just fantastic so I’m still in Novigrad/Velen.

Playing Dead Cells (Switch) at the moment and what a fantastic game it is. I have only done 5 runs so far (I have got as far as the Stilt Village before biting the bullet) but I love the loop of slowly making your character better with more health flasks and such.

Ys 8 - brilliant game to play on the switch. Great hack n slash combat, interesting world and lots of things to find and do.
