Yep, it works well in that context

That's what I like about games that use the stick for toggling aim down sights. You're already using the stick to aim where you'll fire, so why not use it to also toggle aiming down sights? It frees the trigger for grenades and other abilities.

Diablo 3 on Switch - Despite buying 4 new games over the last couple of weeks I keep going back to Diablo. Being able to sit on the sofa playing it while the mrs is watching shite on TV is awesome. It's the perfect game to pick up and play whenever i want. Am away Thurs/Friday in London for work, so I'll be sure to be blasting out as much as I can over the two days.

Finally got the Platinum for Control and it was a pretty easy and enjoyable group of trophies, though the map could be incredibly mis-leading at times.

I keep hearing this, and it has me holding off picking it up. I hate being lost in games due to bad signposting etc, so this could be a bit of a deal breaker for me.

It's a stunning game and certainly worth getting, I only got lost during hunting the final few trophies, so I used a guide on Youtube and it helped me greatly.

Mate and I have fallen into a DayZ/PUBG Rotation, essetially, when it gets Dark in DayZ it last 1 hour and we go play PUBG for an hour then come back....so it's been this combo for weeks now. Really getting into some tasty situations in DayZ, getting cars regularly including me crashing to kill us both last Saturday, we were laughing too much to be pished off:

Still getting the Odd decent Kill in PUBG:

Mate sniped a guy from a squad who was shooting at us, all hell broke lose, they ran off into another group, then the winners of that battle came after us, killing me and my mate but we bagged one of them, anyway heres the shot that started it all.

Playing the PS4 version of Heavy Rain, which is my first time playing the game.

I was aware this game reviewed pretty damn well back in 2010, but what the hell is this? I'm very used to playing older games, and often play and enjoy things from much further back than this, but it feels so weird. And I played Farenheit! This almost feels more dated. I'm still early in, so maybe it will pick up greatly, but right now every other scene seems to be this emotionless guy, doing mundane tasks with his emotionless son. I can't remember the last time I so badly wanted to give up on a game, but for now, the story shows promise so I will persevere.

Played a bit of Magic the Gathering: Arena. I've played it before but basically finished the tutorial AI but and it forced me to play real people and I lost two games and gave up. Came back and they've added an AI mode which is incredibly bad at playing but gives you a bunch free cards. Made a basic deck and played some real people and won just over 50% of my matches.

Not sure how much more I'll play and still don't really understand the rules.

Does anyone else on here play?

It's odd how many people deal with their backlog by... playing their old games again. Because we recently got the Uncharted collection on PS+, I've just played through 1 and 2 again. So I guess the next step is inevitable.

It doesn't get much better.

I loved it when it came out but I tried replaying it on PS4 and I had to give up. I've never seen a game age so badly as Heavy Rain.

Just finished A Plague Tale. Kind of went off it near the end but overall pretty decent for a short experience.

That's exactly how I felt, for me it happened
when you could suddenly control the rats, the game was enjoyable until then and suddenly introducing this mechanic late game meant it all revolved around that

Coming to the end of Spiderman and it's another fantastic PS4 exclusive.

I've stopped playing The Witcher 3 as knowing that I have to play a lot of the story content initially makes me think I'll just hold off and start this again on Switch.

Modern Warfare . The CoD addiction is real at the moment. The best one yet.

I’ve been playing Yooka Laylee quite a bit lately. I just cleared out everything in the first level and I think I’m good to get the last couple of Pagies in level 2.

I’m enjoying it thus far but the levels seem a bit on the large side which is what out me off Banjo Tooie years back.

How are you making the gifs? I ask because from my experience that dithering effect across them is an artifact of the gif using a default palette. If you're doing it yourself with ffmpeg (taken from here):

Code: Select all

$ ffmpeg -i input_video.mp4 -filter_complex "[0:v] split [a][b];[a] palettegen [p];[b][p] paletteuse" output_gif.gif

If you're using an online converter then ignore me I guess :P

(good crash tho)

Yeah, I know. How strange as I've played Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Remastered and Uncharted 1 & 2. It was great to play them again to be honest.

At the moment I'm playing Uncharted 3 and hope to finish it off before Doom Eternal arrives.

Am nearing the end of Arkham Tank and while there's a lot about the game I've loved, they really did want to make use of the batmobile didn't they

Playing Yakuza 3 Remastered and whilst it's certainly showing it's age, it's still a great game and the 1080p/ 60fps really is impressive.

I've got that lined up as I finished Kiwami 2 earlier this year, but am playing Ni No Kuni 2 as a palette cleanser. Once you get the kingdom set up things click into place quickly and you want to do the side missions as they all help build your army/kingdom in some way. It definitely takes its time getting to that point though, however it should be commended in that the kingdom building side is ripe for microtransations but there aren't any at all.
