I then played Sea of Thieves with my 9yr old girl, I decided to take on the new Flame Heart quest in this update and not only did Sophie love the little diary that you get to read through at start, she actually solved the first puzzle to get the key, she was so proud and excited. An amazing adventure of Indian Jones x the Goonies awaited us, not to give too many spoilers away but I let her open the secret entrance as she figured out the puzzle to get the key stone in the first place.

Me, The Watching Artist and Geum did that tall tale the other day. We enjoyed it for the most part, but we're annoyed that when we came out of it out ship got sunk, other people were in there and at one point Geum died and was miles back from me and Matt and then he got to a point that he couldn't progress as respawning skeletons meant he couldn't raise a door. The Tall Tales are really good, but I find there are bits that let them down. Worst thing about the were the bosses like Briggsy.

Well, to make sure we didn't glitch or mess up we waited for each other if one of us couldn't get past a tricky section. I liked that death put you back at start of each section as such. As for the skeletons re spawning, you sure he couldn't just wait until he killed them all, they do respawn about 10-12 times so maybe he presumed it was infinite?

Also, supposedly, when doing these tales the network code is apparently done in such a way to effectively put you on a server on your own till you've finished it, at least that's what it's supposed to do. We didn't see anyone from the point of getting journal till the end of the tale.

Still Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I spent an hour or so last night unlocking the last sections of the map and finding the bulk of the tonics then found all the coins in the base version of chapter 12 before heading off to bed.

Had a few DS delivered in the post today from Ebay, finalyl got Metroid Prime Hunters which is great, but the game didn't come with a manual which is doing wonders for my OCD. Also got Meteos and Puzzle League DS, which feel rather similar to each other but are an absolute blast.

Playing Final Fantasy XV and it’s a bit of a state. The map is a nightmare, the car mechanic is really annoying, the day/night cycle is too quick, and the combat is an absolute mess. The character models don’t look as good as I thought they were going to, the writing is terrible with loads of repeated lines, and that Cindy character is just...oh Japan :fp:
The FF VII remake had better be nowt like this.

It is possible that the respawns may have ended and he gave up. The Tall Tales Matt, GRUM and I have been screwed twice by other people when doing them in the past. Was Tall Tale 9 I think it happened. I'll check the VoD on YouTube, also Doom was on an island with 2 other crews when fighting Briggsy. Other people being about seems commonplace, tbh.

I started Battle Chasers: Nightwar on PS4 at the weekend. So far it's a decent traditional turn based RPG with a rather nice art style. I get the impression it's gonna get a bit grindy however as money is pretty scarce and monsters even a level or two above yours tend to wipe the floor with you.

Burnout Paradise
I've got far enough in this to see the credits roll, but there are still 100+ events to complete now. They were getting tedious enough already though, so I dont think I'm going to bother getting the final licence upgrade. I have however moved onto using the motorbikes now, and damn, that's good fun. I love the Burning Ride events, and they're good to control as well. Think I'll complete the bike events and then call it day on this one.

Gears of War 3
Started this last weekend and I'm already on the final act. It's pretty standard as far as I can remember for a Gears game. Enjoyable enough, if nothing special. Looks nice though.

I tried playing the PC version a few months back and had to get a refund because it didn't play nicely with the onscreen keyboard and other assistive softwarehardware I use.

I've added a couple more useful bits of software to my "repertoire of unconventional controls" since then so I might buy it again and see how I get on.

Started playing Invisible Inc on PS4 and I love it! I can't believe I haven't played it until now as this is the exact kind of game I could lose hours and hours to. Definitely going to pick up the Steam version as using a mouse will be preferable in this kind of game.

Loving it though. So tense and makes you feel like a bad ass.

Story is interesting so far but I don’t get the ‘omg best game ever’ comment this seemed to get. Not to say it’s duff as I am enjoying it but it just feels like a standard Platinum action game.

Still cracking on with this, just past the point where you rescue 9S.

It’s a good game but I still fail to see why so many people raved about this and it’s story. Gameplay is standard Platinum flair, I like the idea of the plug in chips and being able to tinker your skill set as you want. The story is ok so far, I can only think it must get really good when you start going for the other endings?

Once I finish this first run and get ending A I’ll take a break and play something else before tackling the other endings.

I’m still playing this at the moment, part of the way through the third play through now. I played the ‘Loss’ mission last night and oh my god that is one of the worst missions I have played in any game for a long time. I was so close to dropping this but I managed to get through it on my 4th attempt, I’m hoping it all starts to wrap up soon and then I’ll move onto something else.

Stopped Mass Effect Andromeda because it was dross. Such a shame.

Think I might replay something I'll know I'll enjoy. Doom 2016 seems a likely candidate.

Battering through old games to get achievements I missed - Skyrim's been thrashed and I've moved on to The Orange Box, Rock Band 3 and Guitar Hero: Metallica. strawberry float me though, my hands have taken some serious damage and I can't hold the plastic guitar like I used to.

How far did you get? I played it last year and gave up at the snow planet. It was just so dull it gave me no desire to continue playing at any point.

Be a cool dude like me and play Mass Effect 2 again. Such a masterstroke of a game - the darker, more grimy tone is a jolt to the system and was a gamble but they absolutely nail it. The first real hub you probably end up visiting is Omega and it’s a grubby seedy shithole.
You’d think that having an unusually large cast of characters would be to the games’ detriment, but each one is so memorable. Was always a Thane fan, personally

If I wasn't working from home I would use this time to tackle a big game that I've wanted to play like The Witcher 3

I've not been playing Fallout 76 :o :( .

For the past six months it accounted for maybe 90% of my gaming time but, with the launch of the Mario Maker 2 competition and the arrival of Animal Crossing, my time in the wasteland has been halted.

During this social isolation period I'm thinking that I'd like to focus on these games:

Fallout 76 (PS4)
No Man's Sky (PS4)
Animal Crossing (Switch)
Mario Maker 2 (Switch) - GR competition
