Animal Crossing on Switch, GTA Online on the Xbox One. Two open sandbox games to just mess around in. Lovely.

No Mans Sky - Finally went back in to have a go and yeah, it's ok. Not too bad, at the start its confusing AF to get used to but spent a fair few hours on it and I like it. Looks pretty enough to in 4K. There's something clunky about how you walk about, can't put my finger on it but it's just a bit... weird.

Playing Ori 2. It's cool so far, the performance leaves a lot to be desired.

Stardew Valley - started a new game at the start of the Covid19 lockdown and have pretty much spent a few hours on it every day since.

Finding it very therapeutic.

Strider on PS4. I picked this up for a couple of quid in the Winter sale back in January and thought I’d finally give it a go. Really enjoying it thus far.

Sat down and started Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition on PS4 and it’s still as good as I remember. I beat the original way back on the X360 but never touched the DLC so I grabbed this edition and plan to go through the main game along with some of the DLC.

It has a few improvements brought over from the sequels such as a mini map and other little tweaks. The gameplay loop is still addictive.

I'm alternating Animal Crossing New Horizons and God of War (2018) at the moment. Doing my daily routine on ACNH before cracking on with GoW.

I think I may have understimated GoW a tad. I had it pegged as a linear 10-12 hour campagain but I got to the big lake and it opened up abit. I messed around with some fun side quests and thought I was back on track in the main quest going up the mountain...and now I've gone to anothe realm, 1 of 9. I assume this is a lot bigger than I thought?

Also, the combat is brilliant. I'm coming off the back of Arkham Knight and you realise how dated that was in comparison.

You don’t get to go all 9 realms sadly but it’s still a pretty lengthy game without ever outstaying it’s welcome. I’m guessing they saved a few realms for the sequel.

Ah okay, fair enough. Any idea roughly how far in I am, if I've just gone to the first new realm?

I can’t recall exactly how many realms you go to, think it might be 4-5. From a story point you are still fairly early on if you’ve only just gone to new realm. Of course if you ignore side quests you can power through. Took me about 20-25hrs first time doing most of the side stuff and general exploring.

I played a tiny bit of Dark Souls Remastered last night. I killed the Undead Burg shopkeeper because I don’t like him and then killed the Hellfire Dragon before calling it a night.

Nioh 2 - bought the season pass today too. It's a brilliant game and really just more of the same Nioh 1 goodness. The drop in multiplayer is great to help out newbies and get some good drops. Amazing feeling to destroy a boss which was causing me trouble hours earlier. The shift mode is crap compared to living weapon of the first game. But they have added a lot more depth.

Got other games to play but like Nioh has got me hooked and I don't want to play anything else.

Wish my image sig would work

Still going through my PS3 backlog & Thought I’d start :

Bentleys Hack pack.

No better way to play a game than been forced to play with motion controls.

This Covid stuff has me all over the place with my games. I've been dipping and diving into various games and DayZ has taken a temporary back seat.

None of my friends want to play MW Warzone so ive been going it alone, albeit with randomers on team. It's very VERY frustrating though as you rarely get revived and/or bought back into the game. I'm still plugging away at Heartland in SoD2 and Assassins Creed Odyssey has me on a new island but my god when I zoom out and see how little I've covered, jees. I've put nearly 40hrs into it and can barely wrap my head around how big it is. The ship combat in ACO is bobbins tbh, it works better in AC4 but with people rowing a boat, the speed you go at is immersion breaking (I know AC4's was unrealistic too). I reckon that pirate game coming from Ubi will either be canned or the off ship stuff will be fleshed out, as far as sailing goes Sea of Thieves is miles ahead of most other games.

Getting back into Rocket League as it's fun to play small 5min matches game after game, the teamup feature is great too, and because of it I'm ranking up faster. Doom 2016 is kicking my ass at mo, like I'm at a really hard section that I can't seem to get past, after a massive gun fight 2 hell demons appear and I'm usually low on ammo and IRL exhausted to know what to do lol. Doom 64 is brilliant though, it's VERY puzzle heavy which is different to Doom1&2 with lots of hitting buttons and running to a door that's going to shut unless you time it perfectly. NightDive has added PC and N64 levels but I'd love to just see N64 ones so I can remember how I did them, as they are all mixed up I can't tell which map was on which version. They did this with Forsaken too but that works better.

Finally Gears 5 MP has a new mode called GridIron, there's a flag spawned in middle of map and you have to bring it to opponents 'touchdown' area, played in rounds. Everyone gets 1 life so you can win by merely killing other team but you can have sneaky routes to get behind without being seen, it's an Excellent mode. They've buffed the other guns also, now the lancer does significantly more damage and you can down others more effectively, of course up close shotgun is till king but even that's been changed you have to be basically on top of each other to use. I always enjoy my gears mp but now I'm going to really get into it, it's fluid, fast and different to all the other FPS mp modes I play. I don't know all the maps well enough to get the power weapons but as they show where they are at start of each game I can see myself getting used to it. Bizarrely it's one of the few games my daughter will pick her head up from Animal Crossing and watch me play.

Prototype
Having some fun with this. It's not without its flaws - movement can be janky and imprecise, some missions aren't that enjoyable - but exploring the city and doing some of the challenges is pretty enjoyable. Not sure how soon the novelty will wear off, but it's decent enough so far.

Still cracking on with this, such an addictive game, love the loot hunting aspect and gaining better gear as you go along. I’ve reached New Haven so I don’t think I have overly long to go, once I’ve wrapped this up I’ll go into the Zombie Ned DLC.

I think Borderlands 1 is still the best, it’s not as aware of itself as the others.

I’ve not played any of the other ones yet (I have the Handsome Collection ready to play at some point tho) but i do find this game to be fun as hell. Looking forward to trying the DLC as I never played any of it before.

Mainly Animal Crossing New Horizons at the moment. With it being my weekend off I may finally delve back into The Witcher 3 and a bit of WRC 8 though.
