Been playing the heck out of Dark Souls this week. Haven't touched it since it first came out but still managed to beat Ornstein and Smough first try 8-)

I'm about 5 hours into Cosmic Star Heroine. The battles are absurdly long in this game. It really kills the pace of it.

Finished episode 4 of 3 out of 10. I thought it was better than the last two episodes it was fairly funny. The game part of game wasn't that great and I skipped most of it to listen to the dialogue. Hopefully the next episode will tie everything up nicely.

About 75% through the core offering of Lonely Mountains Downhill on PS4. It is a really great Sunday afternoon/evening game. Because there's no music I've just had podcasts on, playing in a flow state - no frustration at all with my failures, but great thrills with a good win. Performance isn't perfect - a decent amount of pop in and jagginess, but it is forgivable and doesn't affect things too much. Very good vibes.

It's a great game, almost meditative in its nature.

It's a brilliant game, I should go back to finish the remaining challenges but I have done every course. The no-checkpoint runs are the best

Made a little progress in Dark Souls 2 over the weekend.

I went to Huntsman's Copse, freed Creighton of Mirrah, killed the Executioner's Chariot solo on my second attempt (something I've never managed before), killed the Skeleton Lords then moved on to Harvest Valley to join the Sun Bros and fight the Covetous Demon. I finished the evening off by killing the Covetous Demon, next on the agenda is a detour back to Lost Bastille to un-petrify Straid of Olaphis before heading up Earthen Peak to take on Mytha, the Baneful Queen.

Incredibly simple premise with a very high skill ceiling - it's like a single-player Rocket League.

Oh strawberry float.

I'm trying to play remastered and I am today gooseberry fool at it. I want to be good at the game so much but its just not clicking. Will stick at it.

Been putting a bit of time into Horizon Zero Dawn recently and really, really enjoying it! I don't know why but I was expecting it to be a bit shitter than it actually is, possibly because I anticipated experiencing more open world fatigue which hasn't transpired but also I'm sure I recall it getting a bit of a lukewarm reception around release?

Either way I'm really enjoying it so far, I've disabled as much of the UI and markers to make it more immersive and have been having a great time just picking a direction to wander off in and taking down the surprisingly varied assorted of machines the game throws at you. Also despite showing its age to an extent it's still bloody gorgeous as well!

I'm still really enjoying Ring Fit, managing to get about 30 minutes in about 5 days a week which has been a good setup for me. It's definitely helped with my fitness and I find I've had much more success on Ring Fit than doing other exercise - I can never keep up a routine of running/cycling but with Ring Fit I've been pretty consistent with it since I got it back around May

I think the aggressive playstyle that Bloodborne encourages acted as good training for returning to the earlier Souls games. I hid behind a shield for the majority of my original playthrough but this time I just two-handed a spear, relied on dodging and tried to stay in enemies faces. It's not only surprisingly effective but was also a lot more fun than I remember having with the game back in 2011.

I've moved onto Dark Souls 2 now and having a bit of trouble getting to grips with it though. I thought something about the movement and dodging felt off almost immediately and I've since read that the effectiveness of your roll with its i-frames are affected by a couple of your stats, so I'm going to focus on levelling those because I'm not sure I'll have much fun with things as they are.

Decent little Dark Souls 2 stream last night, cleared out Earthen Peak, met the guy who makes ladders and killed Mytha the Baneful Queen. Stopped off to see Straid for a few boss soul weapons and ready to move on to Old Iron Keep next.

Mask of Mists... A lot more puzzle-oriented than I had expected, and a lot more linear, too. Like most puzzlers, though, I am finding myself failing to spot simple solutions to the problems it presents. Check my stream VoD for some obvious things I missed. Or the video that I plan to turn it into tomorrow.

Got a bit more of Dark Souls 2 done last night. After many failed attempts I offed the Smelter Demon, had another rematch with The Pursuer and had a quick look around Belfry Sol.

Funniest bit of the evening was killing an invader while I was armed with the Hand Maiden’s Ladle... I say I killed him but what actually happened is he tried to make me follow him off a ledge but I just stayed and he was stuck there until he killed himself.
