So I finally get the second 2nd life. What happens? Game shifts up a gear and I reach second boss with both lives already used up :x :fp:

It's basically only needed in 200cc

Well this is a game changer. Just tried it and finished 1st of my first try.

And 4 days later I've completed the final 6 200CC cups. Really satisfying to get that done. Some very annoying moments too.

Sort of. I feel how well you do depends quite a bit on your luck with which attacks, Boons and upgrades you get as you play. They're random, see. The core gameplay is fantastic and easy to pick up, but the random nature of rewards takes a bit of the shine off it. But I still recommend it. Doubly so if you enjoyed their previous games.

edit: Still can't believe I didn't spot those health pickups :fp: :x

So good.

Still not my favourite mission though, that's how good the whole package is. :datass:

Oh man, just finished Leon's campaign on Resident Evil 2.

So strawberry floating good. Easily one of my favourite games of the generation.

Going straight onto Claire's

I've completed Mask of Mists, having been streaming for around two and a bit hours, bumbling around again, and having to resort to a guide to find out completely obvious things that I'd missed. It's been a fantastic experience, with a boss that was easy but suited the tone and feel of the game. I also did find all ten of the stone masks for the alternate ending, but forgot to react to it on the stream. That bonus ending will be attached to the end of the video I'll soon have out. Not that the story was grand in scale, but it served its purpose for giving a bit of world building, and the alternate ending also relates to one of the passages that get found within the world.

Hades

Trying the other weapons now. Can't figure out how to use bow effectively. Its main attack is a charge shot which leaves the player open to attack. The shield on the other is freaking imba; regular attack is decent if nothing to write home about, but the long attack and charge are brilliant! The former is as good as the spear (i.e. amazing), while the latter lets you defend while charging it and then turn it into an attack whilst also offering mobility. (You zoom across the screen after releasing the charge!)
With the bow I lost all lives before even getting to the first boss  With the shield? First boss variant cut down with ease

Hades

Spoke too soon re the shield :slol:  Got utterly slaughtered in many ways on second zone: it has fewer walls to bash enemies into repeatedly; it's also surrounded and intersected by lava, meaning that you will likely take damage if you miscalculate the rush attack; and finally, there are enemy types whose attacks you cannot block, at least not using the base move-set. It's really annoying because I have a inkling that the shield would be perfect to use for the third zone and its a-hole bosses. Here's hoping that my other suspicion of what's to come (being able to swap weapons on zone transition) isn't connected to clearing the third stage!

Fire Emblem Warriors - still chipping away at history mode. 95 hours in and loving it. Brilliant for quick goes or a longer session. Always making progress too.

Luigi's Mansion 3 - started again and enjoying it a lot more this time. Probably the most charming game ever made. The secrets are so well hidden. Only thing they could improve would be a better use of all of the cash that is collected.

Wish my image sig would work

Started Uncharted 3 this evening. Opening 5 chapters are a big step down in quality from the previous game.

Still on Horizon Zero Dawn, still having fun, still putting up with Aloy chatting nonsense all the strawberry floating time!

I was thinking of streaming this at one point but it would just be a constant stream of me shouting "shut the strawberry float up Aloy!" at the screen!

Glad you’re enjoying it mate. It’s such a strong game, a definite shout for all time best Resi IMO.

After having a bit of a mare in Dark Souls 2 on Friday spending the best part of a 2 hour stream dying in those Abyss caverns and the Dragon Eyrie I had a far more productive session on Saturday afternoon hitting up all the memories, aced Vendrick, killed Nashandra and Aldia to finish the game. I had a crack at Dark Lurker but it seems they've nerfed his weakness to fire so I may have to rethink my approach.

I started the first DLC area and it's already more impressive than anything in the main game having an almost Zelda-like vibe to it with  some basic puzzles. It was around that point where the cans started to catch up with me and I had to call off the stream. Hoping to venture further into Shulva and the Dragon Sanctum soon.

Been playing a bit of Civ VI on Switch but there are so many mechanics that are just flying over my head at the minute. I did play about 10 hours of it on PC when it originally released but I can barely remember any of it so I'm not sure whether I prefer it to V or not yet. I spent 300+ hours playing V so hopefully I can get into this one as well. War certainly seems more difficult this time around and I've a feeling Poland are going to declare war and cut a swathe through my empire in a few more turns.

Also, it's great using the touch screen on Switch but every now and then there'll be the odd icon that will only be selectable using the controllers so that's a bit of an irritation.
