What improvements will RDR2 get? It’s already native 4K on X1X and it’s frame rate is capped at 30...

I'm not entirely sure on that except for the faster loading thanks to the SSD, but I'm sure the auto-HDR stuff will be more effective with RDR2 than GTA IV.

Auto HDR isn't used on games that have HDR. RDR2 didn't launch with HDR but it was patched in a month after.

Oh, right. I forgot about RDR2 already having it. The Series consoles support more types of HDR, though, right? Not just HDR 10 or whatever the One X needs? And it's not just for 4K screens? If so, that's where the improvements will be seen for me.

Great stuff, IM. I played a little bit of the game on PS3 and the atmosphere was so dang creepy. I hope to return to it even though I'm not usually one for horror games. Have you tried the second and third titles? Opinion varies widely on those!

Not played either of them yet but I have installed them to my XBO so might crack on with those once I’m done with the original :toot:

Playing with headphones makes it proper creepy

Dead Space series will be available as part of the EA Game Pass thing right? I have always wanted to try those games.

Cool ta. I may have been overly critical of EA's output....

Finally started Jedi Academy, just starting with a lightsaber makes this loads better than Outcast, although that was good (made use of the cheat menu a bit too much though :shifty:

Incredibly, this works. :fp:

I wish 2K would get off their ass and fix this as it has to be an easy patch.

Streaming a bit more of Dark Souls 2 and I killed the Fume Knight first try... well I say I killed him I had two NPCs and an actual player helping me. Still, one of the hardest bosses in the series is dead.

I've finally got round to starting the Xenoblade 2 DLC, Torna.

When it was released I'd only just completed the main game, and after starting it found i was a little burn out from if so put to the side at the time. After putting a couple of hours in to Torna I think I've left it slightly too long for the story as I'm struggling to remember the finer details although fortunately the combat mechanics have stuck.

Really looking forward to making my way through it though, I adored XC2 despite not being a JRPG fan at all-infact I think it was the first one I've completed in 20 years, since Grandia 2

At some point next year I think I'll pick up XC:DE too

Is that because it's aged badly or did you never like it? I remember really enjoying it when I played it at launch.

Infinite is fine, some people HATE it tho.

The first Bioshock game was already a massively dumbed down version of an interesting genre, it was redeemed somewhat by atmosphere and a relatively well put together story (for the most part). Infinite somehow manages to find even more ways to make the gameplay even more dull and devoid of interest or challenge, whilst removing the few redeeming features that the original had.

It's a bad game with an awful message and completely mangles any interesting interpretation of its core theme of the infinite worlds theory.

You weren't wrong about Infinite. I'm a few hours in now and it's an average FPS at best. I think the mystery of the story drew me in the first time but, without that, I don't feel like I want to keep playing.

Stuck it on, I mean. I really didn't last long with it. It's terrible.

Moved on to Hollow Knight, this has been good so far. I just beat the girl bug thing with the spear in the green area (vague description is vague).

I bought back Astral Chain (£32 at Currys) so far unlocked 4 legions and loving it. A very different type of game than their usual output but beautiful to look at and a lot to do.

Wish my image sig would work

Blue Smelter Demon can bloody do one. A few times I’ve had him down to sliver of health but I can’t quite beat him :(

I played Torna last year, having never played a Xenoblade game before. I really enjoyed it. Cool combat system.
