Ooh! I have that in my gaming backlog and does look really neat, Tsunade - I like the graphic styling! Have you tried any Monster Hunter games before?

I can't say that I have, I do like a good RPG and I've really been getting into this. The grind hasnt been too hard and going into dens has been quite interesting, you never know what egg you'll come out with!

Don't let Balla see this

Glad you're enjoying it Tsunade! It is a great game

I've started a new game of Forager on Switch. I'd kinda forgot just how addictive it is; the gameplay is unusual in being pretty chill but with your character constantly on the go. I put around 34 hours into it in my last play and I'm looking forward to doing it all over again - especially as I haven't played since the Nuclear update arrived last summer.

I won the second gym badge in Pokémon Diamond but only just. I revisited a couple of earlier locations now I have access to using Cut on the world map to access some items and a small optional dungeon.

I drove off Team Galactic from Eterna City and got myself a bike. Right now I need to cross a big mountain but I’m stuck trying to catch some Pokémon with really low encounter rates. All I find is bloody Geodudes and Zubats... what is this Gen 1?

Started Hollow Knight today and it's really lovely. Already though, I'm feeling like I'm going to get horribly lost in just another hour or two.

Getting back into Dead by Daylight. I played almost 100 hours on PC but this time I'm starting fresh on PS4 and will probably download the PS5 version next week.

I'm not a fan of all the cosmetic junk they've added alongside microtransactions but the core game is still fun as hell. It's so simple but it holds my interest in the same way Counter Strike did in my youth. Very similar maps and gameplay every time you play but I somehow never get bored of it.

Started playing What Remains of Edith Finch tonight, really liking it, done 5 or so character scenes so far. I can’t quite work out what is going on at the moment, will go back to it tomorrow and see if I can wrap it up.

Post Fallout 76 I'm struggling to stick with a game. I've loaded up lots of stuff and played it for a short while... but that's it. The "GRcade plays... Dark Souls" thread has been the best thing and I think I'll try and return to that today.

I'm much the same. I completed Rayman Legends and I'm really struggling to get motivated to play something else. This always happens when I beat a game that I really love.

When that happens to me I'll usually binge some anime. Watched the whole first season of Kakegurui within 24 hours last week and it was just enough to mull over what I felt like playing next.

Yeah, if I find it hard to stick with a game I tend to move onto another medium like a Graphic Novel or TV show/movie to break things up a bit

Tetris Effect (constantly reminding me how bad i actually am at Tetris, despite feeling fairly competent in single player).
Jedi Fallen Order (great and challenging. Runs very nice on Series X).
Forza Horizon 4 (i'm never going to stop playing this game am I?)

I'm getting my gaming mojo back.

Abzu (Switch) - A delight; chilled underwater exploration.
Fallout 76 (PS4) - It's a bit tougher than previously and there are some VATS bugs but I'm easing back into it.
Dark Souls (PS4) - I've had some time off but will return this week.

Alan Wake
Played the first episode of this. Looks really nice, and I'm kind of intrigued with where the plot's going, but I can already see the 'shine the torch on enemies and then shoot them' mechanic getting old quickly. I'm already sick of it and I've barely started. :slol: Will keep going though. Guessing there was a Roy Orbison fan on the dev team. :toot:

Aegis Defenders
Chipping away at this. It's enjoyable, but only for one level at a time I think - I never feel inclined to play any more than that in one sitting. Kinda works that way though.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
Started this a while ago, couldn't get into it, and went back last night and it seemed to click a bit more. It's very early days, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the 3D perspective. And they seem to have got rid of a lot of the style and charm of the previous games. It all looks very drab, and the town seems empty. I'll keep going with it, but it doesn't feel like a Harvest Moon game so far.

I'm currently playing the remake of Friends of Mineral Town (renamed to Story of Seasons: FoMT) and it has similar issues with fairly bland graphics (which is odd as the Doraemon themed game made by the same team looks lovely) and the town feeling empty.

Ii think Stardew Valley has somewhat ruined the older farming sims by having a lot more stuff to do.

Since 'Lockdown I' I really got back into my PS4

Completing:

- Uncharted Series
- Last of Us Remastered
- Until Dawn
- MGS2 HD Collection
- Last of Us Part 2 (becoming my favorite franchise of all time  )

And played a lot of Switch..

- Mario Aces Tennis Switch
- Pokemon Shield (until it lost my save data just at the final battle :| )
- Animal Crossing (from about March-July everyday)

And put in far too many hours into..

- NBA 2K20 grinding the career mode for VC

Since 'Lockdown II' I've completed

- MGS3 HD Collection
- Power Rangers PS4
- MGS4 (Favourite Playstation 1/2/3 experience)
- Resi Evil 7 VR (My first Resi Experience)

I attempted Days Gone but couldn't get into it :(

I fell in love with the Last of Us this year having missed out on the PS3 somehow, and really enjoyed getting back into Metal Gear Solid.

Currently playing Mario 3D All Stars on the Switch and looking at Ghost of Tsushima for my next PS4 outing.
Maybe after that I'll try AC: Vallhalla when it's cheaper.. :shifty:

I'm getting a kind of Tetris effect from Dead By Daylight. I can hear the Huntress's humming even when I'm not playing :dread:

I haven't actually played Stardew Valley, and I'm only comparing A Wonderful Life to the two other Harvest Moon games I've played (Back to Nature, and...some other Gamecube one) but yeah usually they're vibrant and colourful, while A Wonderful Life is brown and green. More realistic perhaps, but not as nice on the eyes. And I wonder if the 3D perspective is exacerbating the feeling of emptiness - i.e. being able to see more of the world at once, you can see how little is in it. I mean, the other games did feel oddly lifeless and quiet at times, but it wasn't quite so obvious.

I’ve started playing A Plague’s Tale off Game Pass on the XSX and 4 chapters in. It’s a looker alright despite not being an X/S enhanced game.

I’m getting a Brothers Tale of Two Sons vibe for sure. Very much liking this at the moment
