Oh this was in a game with friends.

I've gone back to GTA V but it's the first time that I've played the story since launch and its an absolute dream on the Series X.

Played quite a bit of Subnautica today. Feels very much like The Martian but underwater.

I haven't even tried to craft an underwater base yet but I did just see something pretty big that feels like a huge story moment. Highlight so far was preparing an inventory full of food and water for a long trip away from the safety of my pod. It really felt like I was risking life and limb on a big undertaking. That little pod is a lifeline so it feels quite scary to be so far away from it.

I feel like playing something else now though so I'm worried that this isn't going to hold my attention past this point. We'll see, it has been quite an interesting experience so far so I'd like to see how it progresses.

Pretty much the same story for me (though I actually started it on One X last year just before it dropped off the service). The game is still amazing. Quick Resume works nicely with it too (as well as auto HDR). It was the last game I ever played on my 360 so it feels nice playing it here.

I'm playing FFVII via gamepass. I just did the bit where you help Cloud with his mental breakdown.

Just started Monster Hunter World Ice Borne. After putting 100 hours plus into Rise it's a bit daunting to return to world and start a new adventure.

It looks stunning and the new monsters are so far fantastic. I also did the movie tie in mission which was weird but fun. Will keep me busy until Rise updates later this month.

Wish my image sig would work

Replaying the Dishonored DLC "Knife of Dunwall" for the first time since it launched (thanks to cloud saves I can see that I last played it was in August 2013!)

I've replayed the base game countless times but for whatever reason never bothered to return to the DLC so it's a surprisingly fresh experience in comparison! It's still an incredibly good looking game thanks to the art style which has aged exceptionally well and I'm enjoying re-discovering the areas in this DLC

The Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches are how you do DLC. Brilliant side stories, easily comparable to anything in the main story.

Alice: Madness Returns
I started out enjoying this quite a bit, but strawberry float me, it doesn't half drag on. I don't know why some devs/publishers insist on games being dozens of hours long, when the game or story simply doesn't need it. This could easily have been a nice 7-8 hour game, but here I am hours later doing the same repetitive tasks, collecting the same items that do nothing of any use, and going round in circles with the plot. It's very repetitive and tedious now, to the point where I need to take a break.

Epistory - Typing Chronicles
Interesting little game. Not too far into it, but it's challenging and quirky. Feels like one of those game that could get old quickly if it drags on too much, but I'll see how it goes.

The Room
Took a break from this and have just gone back to it. Still enjoying it, but it's getting a bit more abstract now, and I'm genuinely stumped on one of the puzzles. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious, or perhaps thinking too much and overcomplicating things. :slol: I haven't used any hints so far and am trying to keep that going, but I might have to give in on this particular puzzle.

Yeah it's a fantastic follow up to the first game: expanded on the story elements well, explored parts of the world that were only hinted at in the original, refined some of the design elements etc.

I really don't know why I haven't replayed it before considering I've gone through both Dishonored 1 & 2 at least 5 times each!

Some of the later puzzles are ridiculously obtuse, especially once you get the Predator esque vision mode .

The main ones I struggled with were the ones where you have a set time to complete the puzzle before it resets itself, fortunately they're few and far between.

Pokémon Sword - Finished off my solo run (was meant to be a Grookey only run, but ended up evolving it for the final portion of the game) and now getting another full set of Legendary Pokémon through the Crown Tundra and Dynamax Adventures. Really do like the gen 8 games all in all.

Mmm, yeah I've had perhaps one or two of the timed ones. The one I'm stuck on (not sure how long ago you played it - you might not be able to remember this at all :slol: ) is where there's a rotatable plate in the middle of this big table (where a model of some planets was) with arrows on it (which you can only see with the eye pirce) and you have to use a dial to rotate the plate. Then there's a screen at the one edge of the table and if you look through it you can see these blocks that rotate depending on where the plate is positioned. You have to keep switching between rotating the dial and then checking where the blocks are positioned through the screen, which is a right pain in the arse. I feel like I've tried every position of the plate and there's no obvious way that the blocks are supposed to line up. The only thing I can think of is that you need to get all the black squares on the blocks facing you, but I've no idea how you do that, as you can only rotate the plate in two directions and therefore have limited options. I'll have one more crack at it and then if I can't do it I'll give in and use a hint.

Ten hours in and I'm now fairly self-sufficient in Subnautica due to my healthy fruit and vegetable patch and a water purifying machine. I've also just upgraded a lot of my basic equipment so that I can cook fish out in the field, swim faster for longer and also charge my tools as I swim.

The rewarding feeling of having slowly built up from nothing is immense but I do wish the story "missions" would drop faster. Right now I'm ready to crack on but unfortunately it appears as though the story only progresses at certain time stamps.

Unless I'm missing something? Going to take a look at my info log to see if there are any clues.

Oh my word, Subnautica just clicked even more. Seems like I was wrong about the story progression being time stamped.

So I was sitting in the commander's chair, looking out of the window of my happy, little base while reading through all the info and notes on my PDA. And now I have a long note (on my IRL phone) of clues that I've picked up on and potential avenues of exploration to continue the story.

I'm so hyped to continue exploring now. I've got a couple of locations that I know are 800m and 1200m below sea level and so far I've only managed to explore up to 500m so I've got a pretty mammoth task ahead of me. I think my focus now will be on crafting some scanning equipment to try and map out my immediate area so I can locate building materials with more ease.

This game. My word

Finished the Knife of Dunwall DLC for Dishonored 1 last night, I'd forgotten how comparatively short the levels are when compared to the second game so I rinsed this in much quicker time then I expected to!

It's a great set of levels to return to and playing as Daud gives things a different feel to the base game which is a nice change after I've become so familiar with what that has to offer. It's also slightly strange coming back to D1 after playing more of the sequel recently, the first game is a much more narrow game (for want of a better term) - both in terms of the spaces which are less sprawling and the actions the player can perform in them. I like the focus it brings but on balance I think I prefer the increased complexity of the sequel.

Overall this was great to return to and I'm looking forward to tackling The Brigmore Witches next!

Cats Organized Neatly.

Utterly silly (and obscenely cute) puzzle game where you have to place a variety of oddly shaped cats into a series of oddly shaped boxes (all cats must fit in with no gaps to clear the stage).

Starts off incredibly easy but the difficulty soon ramps up to fiendish levels.

Easily worth the £2 asking price
