Hmmm. Played an hour and I don't know; made it to a planet and an asteroid (and managed to get a silver trophy for dying ) but I couldn't really be bothered running around and reading all the stuff. Also, didn't help the first planet seemed pretty barren. It was pretty late though and I don't think I was in the right mindset tbh.

Yeah, you definitely need to be in the right mindset - the game is all about taking your time reading and working things out, if you don't you won't have much clue as to what you are doing!

I hope you start over and it does click with you because it is a fantastic game

Started The Council earlier. I’m really enjoying it! I thought I would when I read about it years ago, but the reviews put me off. So far it’s been exactly the sort of game I enjoy - choice based story progression with some decent rpg elements in there.

Hope the quality stays at this level, although the graphics and some of the voice acting is a bit below par.

Think I will give it a go again in the future, was pretty tired when I started it the other night.

Was playing Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes with the gf last night, great multiplayer co-op game, can actually feel a bit tense when the timer is ticking down

Soul Calibur VI (PS4)
Flippin' 'ell, talk about disappointment! The story mode and interface are godawful and the graphics just OK. Played fine when eventually got into arcade mode, but the AI seemed a bit gooseberry fool. Loved 2 on the Gamecube; so it was a bit of a shock how underwhelming it all was! Had planned on playing though it, but have decided to ditch it.

80s Overdrive
Pretty good so far. Nice retro racer, looks quite good, really great soundtrack, and is fairly fun to play. The kamikaze traffic is the only main annoyance so far. I'm all for challenge in traffic volume, or windy roads, or police (as annoying as they are), but having random cars veering across the road to try and collide with me is just irritating. Gets a bit grindy in places, to try and get enough cash to go through the cycle of new race > get damaged (due to said cars crashing into you) > spend all money on repairs > do loads of old races to earn money again > new race > get damaged...

I think it cost less than £1 on Steam though, so really can't complain.

Saints Row IV
Fairly enjoyable in the first few hours I've played this. The plot's pretty crazy, but I'm not really playing it for that. Reminds me a lot of Crackdown in the powers you have and the main way I tend to navigate the city (i.e. jumping from rooftop to rooftop). It's a bit annoying that I have to keep going back to the ship to speak to people to start missions, when I can just communicate with them through my head or earpiece or whatever (seriously, why don't designers think this gooseberry fool through?) but seems like there's plenty to do and it's pretty enjoyable to dip in and out of.

Street Fighter 5

Thought I’d give it another chance & managed to win a ranked fight & got some Brucie Bonus LP points or something.

Next fight, got the usual Schlick of super ex deus machina spam combo moves. Then lost a load of points from my previous fight :(

This game still sucks arse. I’d rather play Battle Arena Toshinden.

Samurai warriors 5 - PlayStation 5 - cure at 71 hours and still enjoying it. It just runs so well, so many characters on screen and it's still the fastest and smoothest musou game yet.

Ghostwire Tokyo. - PS5 - a lovely little game to return to and find more statues and things to collect. Will probably end up 100% this but it'll take ages. The world is one I love to wander around and despite the ghosts it's still a great tourism simulation.

Wish my image sig would work

Raft - Picked this up for £12 last night and loving it. Never really played survival games before but this is really enjoyable, trying to find how stuff works/finding new things to craft and expanding your raft. Before I knew it I'd played for 5 and a half hours non-stop (something I've not done gaming wise in a long time) and it was 1.30am in the morning.... Finished last night finally learning how to smelt ore so tonight it's about finding fun things to make with the metal. Definitely makes me want to try Grounded now on Gamepass.

We don't have a Two Point Campus thread :(

3* first 2 levels - yeah I think this feels like a refined more focused TPH. Which is no bad thing, the added systems help progress.

Wish everything wasn't behind Kudos again - especially when you're consistently challenged" to "I want Item X" and it cost 100s above what you have. Having to reject endlessly is annoying

3 chapters through The Council now and still really enjoying it. Some of the puzzles get a bit long winded, and there are so many potions you rarely have to pick between options for the sake of conserving resources, but I do think it is really interesting and different with a Da Vinci Code style nonsense keeping it all going.

Started it today, and yeah, looks to be more of the same which is promising.

Still plugging away at FO76. I've been playing the main campaign with P3DZ and then playing side quests on my own. Had to stop the other day as I'm dangerously low on ammo so couldn't really get anything more done. Might have to mix up what guns I'm using as I have a fair bit of ammo for guns I've never used.

Mainly jumping between 3 games at the moment,

- F1 22, the most recent patch should have helped career modes a lot, unfortunately with the warm weather it’s too warm to get my wheel out and drive for a few hours!
- Pokémon Legends Arceus, very nearly reaching the end of my second run of this, I’ve not done all the side quests like I did first time but I’ve just transferred my living dex in (and back out) and just have one more legend to catch and then Arceus. This has still been a great game even on my second run through, hopefully get this finished today!
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3, only scratched the surface of this (just reached chapter 3 after about 12 hours) but really feeling it!

Edit, finished Legends Arceus off and caught Arceus in BDSP too, so unless I want to give Sword another run I think that’s me done with Pokémon till November.

Got Gas Station Simulator in the latest Humble Choice and I unrionically love it. It's janky as strawberry float but absorbing.

Saints Row IV
It's not bad, this, but it's also not especially fun. The over-the-top powers and stuff are fun, but the novelty does wear off, and the tedium of what the game asks you to do - constantly going from one side of the map to the other, constantly going back to the ship when you've completed a mission just to 'complete' it, constantly asking you to do the same tasks over and over and over again - really grates over time and saps the enjoyment out of things. Even collecting the clusters, which should be like collecting the orbs in Crackdown, stops being fun because they're on every rooftop and there's just so many of them. Makes you wonder if at any point the developers actually stopped to ask themselves "is this actually fun to play?".

Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

I remember this coming out on the N64 and a mate having it. I played it briefly, but forgot all about it. Then I saw it going cheap on Steam and figured I'd give it a go. I don't know anything about Star Wars Episode 1, and don't really care, so I'm skipping all the cut scenes and such. The racing itself is pretty good - nice sense of speed, some quick reflexes required, etc - but there's zero challenge. Maybe it gets better later on, but I'm on the second event and it's just a walk in the park every race. It's a shame they put no effort into making the game look better on PC either. Think I'll be able to finish this one fairly quickly. Pretty fun, but pretty forgettable too from what I've played so far.

In Other Waters (switch).

I picked this up as I really like the creators newest work (Citizen Sleeper) which I played on Game Pass.

This is also good, with a really great atmosphere.

Performance is terrible on Switch though, with long load times and constant freezes - it's almost impressive since it's close to being a text adventure game. Also it's quite easy to get horribly lost (perhaps that's just me though).

Decent though, and a fairly short experience. I seem to be nearing the end after about 5 hours. Citizen Sleeper is a massive step up though.

Starting playing Metal Gear Solid (PS1) for the first time proper, my only play of MGS was on a PS1 demo disc back in the day and I’ve always had it as a series I want to try. Playing it on PSvita and it looks great on the small OLED screen, gameplay wise it still holds up as well for the most part (feels a little fiddly in spots but nothing major)

I watched all the briefing videos beforehand and i’m getting into the story already  feels very cinematic which is what Kojima goes for. I know next to nothing about what to do and how best to play this so I’ll see if I get stuck anywhere and need to consult a guide.

I'm very jealous, that's up there as one of my games I wish I could wipe from my memory so I could experience them for the first time again.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Have you played Twin Snakes? It's basically a better, slightly revised version.
