The Forgotten CityI just uncovered a pretty big reveal, and it felt amazing.
It's been a long while since I found a video game world this involving. The time loop mechanic works really well, and it makes looping through the day again and again feel fresh each time, rather than a chore to be trudging through the motions time after time. I could probably be playing a bit "neater" than I currently am, chasing down and resolving one thing at a time, but I'm really enjoying running around with like a dozen different plot threads all happening at once, especially where characters arcs cross or come together. Still yet to meet all the residents. It doesn't sound busy when the game tells you there's only 23 people, it feels like I've got a long way to go before I tick everyone off, and there are plenty of names I've found without faces so far.
There's little niggles here and there, the occasional dialogue option that's popped up when I felt like it shouldn't have, although I suspect that's because the game's designed for you to ask questions in the order they appear in the dialogue options, and deviating from that hasn't been totally accounted for, and I've had one quest step pop up which revealed something about a character without me having to discover it for myself, but given this game's origin as a Skyrim mod (which is still pretty clear even in its standalone form in a different engine,) I can forgive those small details.
Really interesting game, the setting is brilliant, and the character interplay has been so well paced so far. Just wish I had more time to spend with it. Going to need to break out the notepad and pen, old school style, to keep track of who's next to speak to, and who's been implicated by some of the environmental clues.
