GTA x Yakuza; an apt description as any I've heard. Good fun so far, like that it keeps the missions moving quick; handy for short burst play. Think I'll prob ignore a lot of the side stuff, just stick to the main triad and cop missions. Just what I wanted at the mo, nothing too epic! Still looks pretty decent too.

Absolutely loved this game, gutted it never got a sequel. It’s one I will replay one day.

Good choice. That's how I played it mostly also (though I did some of the side missions towards the end as I was simply enjoying the world too much to stop playing when the main story was starting to wrap up).

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much due to its age, but was pleasantly surprised! Only annoyance is it has crashed a few times; once in the middle of a mission! :(

I'll prob do the same myself tbh. Enjoying getting the diff costumes and their abilities too!

Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition

Fun but all these new areas & bosses feel tacked on & it’s feeling like this game has outstayed its welcome unlike the original version.

The original version was the right length

Amongst other things I'm currently playing:

Everybody's Golf World Tour (PS3/rpcs3 emulator) - Only played a few times originally as it was becoming very difficult for me to use the ps3 controller around that time. Got it running fairly well although it often crashes during long sessions it hasn't stopped me spending 9 hours on it in 3 days.

Roundgard - An ungodly mix of Peggle and Slay the Spire but from the hour or so I've played so far its been decent and enjoyable if not quite as good as Peggle.

Never played the original version of this game. I love Guacamelee STCE. It's like 4 hours long or something.

Replaying Hollow Knight after finishing up Deaths Door. Can Silk Song come out soon pls.

Hmm. It's reasonable, but a bit...lacking. There are actualy a lot of good ideas in here that I like. A lot of the design seems influenced by Super Mario 64, which is no bad thing, but it doesn't quite pull the mechanics off to the same standard. It looks decent enough, but a bit basic, and there's something weirdly off about the platforming - it's oddly difficult to gauge your jumping, particularly when trying to navigate small platforms or land on enemies. It also looks quite shallow in terms of content, but that might be unfair as I'm still only an hour or two into it. I'll stick with it. Feels like an average-but-not-great kind of game so far.

Poi! Now there's a game that's hardly mentioned. Are you playing on Switch, Lotus? Yeah, although I've only played a bit of it, I do like it; it's probably D-tier in terms of graphics (okay but very bland) but I like the controls and gameplay; it's a solid B-tier 3D platformer.

However, I know that our own OrangeRKN is a bit of an admirer of this title - lets invite him in here!

GG Aleste 2 - going for a 1-ALL clear but I'm having trouble. Keep dying in stupid places and I have made it to the final boss twice and game overed both times. Feels bad man lol

Sounds like I like the platforming a bit more - I never felt it to have any problems in control - but I'd broadly agree. It's definitely in the vein of SM64 with its 3D course design and the visuals are no more than serviceable. I definitely enjoyed it!

Nearing the end of the main game in Hollow Knight. I love this game. Absolutely engrossing. I might actually give the DLC a go as well.

Getting into Hearts of Iron IV a bit more now but well aware I still have lots to learn. Played it for ten hours this weekend and it's fascinating.

I have been playing Fortnite quiet a bit this last month which is very not me, I hardly ever game online I am usually a very offline solo player gamer, add on to this that I have been playing Chocobo GP online as well and its been a strange month... I have even played some Forntite in Duos with both my misses and my daughter... this could be an upcoming sign of the apocalypse I haven't played this much online stuff since the days when I was playing Halo 3 and Gears 1 with a school reunion group.

I blame my daughter and my nephews completely for this sudden online stuff.

Been playing few Nintendo 64 games on my Switch when I'm laying on bed if I don't feel like doing PC, games being:

Mario Golf 64
Even though I prefer Everybody's Golf series, it's still great game - just had to get used to how different it feels to other games, especially the wind and putting! But when I nail the birdie it feels good. Wario is kicking my ass though...

Banjo Kazooie
Despite owning it on 360 I actually prefer playing through this on Nintendo 64 for silly reasons, but it's also nice to be able to play it portable. Got 100% on first three worlds, and about to head to swamp.

F-Zero X
I am so gooseberry fool at this game. But, with it being portable its easier to dip in/out. I've got Jack/Queen done on Standard difficulty (after having done all of them on Novice) so need to get gid at King cup on Standard difficulty... last push before harder difficulty.

I'm playing on PC, jawa. It's growing on me now that I've put more time into it. I still have a couple of gripes with the controls, but I'm adjusting to it. There's actually a lot to do outside the main levels as well, so I was a bit unfair with calling it shallow. It's basic, but there are definitely good ideas, albeit with a few issues here and there. I'm enjoying it :toot:

Some N64 classics there, Seven :datass:

F-Zero X is one of my all-time favourites - I've lost track of how many times I've completed it

I didn't get on with F-Zero GX for some reason but I remember loving F-Zero X when I was young; I'm loving it today as well but it's so hard (for me) that I have to remind myself to take break if it gets much :slol:

I might be willing to give GX another chance; I think I still own a copy (maybe not, been while since I checked my GC collection and they're still at ex's place) but for now I wanna stick with X and see if I can't beat it on third difficulty and unlock last cup (I assume there's fourth difficulty too, but I can worry about that later!)

If you think X is hard you will not be pleased with GX...
