Just finished the fan translation of mother 3. Fantastic translation and bonkers game. Really dark plot for such a wacky game but I’m glad to tick it off the backlog.

Between the gender fluid fairies that could be taken as transphobic (I don’t see it that way but it’s walking the line) and the magic mushrooms section I don’t think this is ever getting an official western release haha.

Been playing SOR4 and got S ranks on all levels at normal difficulty, so think that'll do me for now. Will set it aside for a while and finally get stuck into Hades!

Axiom Verge 2 - Switch Lite -

I'm not sure about this..... It's a strange game with a lot of added systems which are not ever needed to be used like the hacking for example.

Music, graphics, gameplay are all excellent but it really needed more testing and polish. I've had 2 crashes to home screen and spent ages looking for where to go next due to the game doing a very poor job of explaining new abilities.

Wish my image sig would work

Kentucky Route Zero - pretentious nonsensical hipster bollocks. Nice to look at.
Firewatch - See above (joking - a bit of a mission when you’ve played it before and know how crap the ending is)
Astro’s Playroom - an absolute delight, what a huge surprise! Best PS5 exclusive.

Still one of the hardest games I've played.

Up to a bit now where doors close shut and you are in a confined space with a chainsaw guy. Had about 10 unsuccessful goes up to now. I'm not even sure whether I've got enough ammo to kill him. It's very clunky to control. (I am kinda of enjoying the game still and see why people would like it, it's got a great atmosphere/setting)

Hades - Switch Lite - decided to get back into this and it's so easy to pick back up. One of the best games of the last few years. Up there with Bloodstained and Streets of Rage 4 as an instant indie classic.

Samurai Warriors 5 - unlocked everything apart from the golden rare weapons. But it's a pain so instead just grinding a few levels with characters to level them up. Dual swords are the most fun weapon and moveset so far.

Axiom Verge 2 - really not enjoying this at the moment. Stuck and frustrated with it.

I'm playing Bioshock AGAIN. I regularly play through the Trilogy and now with them in 4K 60 on Series X it's just better and better.

I recently finished Infinite and more importantly, it's DLC which is mind bendingly great as in it ties directly to the start of Bioshock 1 so here I am again in somewhat of an infinite Loop.

The fact Bioshock 1 and Infinite are so inextricably linked works in the Trilogy's favour because you have that narrative line from 1 to Infinite but in the mean time Bioshock 2's story has nothing to do with either and is a standalone game with an excellent story of it's own. Now if they could just update The Orange Box with a 60fps update to rotate that back in.

Tempted to play through all the Halo's in the lead up to Infinite...

Yep, I was thoroughly obsessed with it. Its AMAZING. One of my top 5 games of all time without even having to think about it. Probably top 3.

Following this exchange I was browsing my library, and decided to give this another go.

I made much more progress than my first run, so got a bit more into it this time. I must admit that my main problem with this game though is that I cannot play for more than an hour without falling asleep because of the reading on the tv. I did however have two sessions of 4 hour plus over the weekend.

The shorter loading times on ps5 make it much more fun to play as well, on my base ps4 the game had massive loading times which were really off putting

Yep, the load times (PS4 Pro here) were pretty awful. When I finally get around to replaying it, it will be on a next gen console. Its probably how i will end up justifying a PS5 to myself (it would save me buying the game again on Series X etc).

The other problem when i started my run was that it would crash almost every session (and at one point it crashed every time i tried to leave a room i was in). Thankfully the game was rock solid by the time i got to the end of it, so i only have good memories.

I still think about the game most days, I love it so much.

Skyward Sword HD - NSW
Think I am getting close to the end of this now, got 2 parts of the Song of the Hero and in the desert going after the last part. I have enjoyed it overall but it has dragged in spots with its fetch quests that just felt like they were added to pad out the length, defo not in my top 5 of Zelda’s

Quake - NSW
Damn, this is a load of fun! It’s a great pick up and play game and runs perfectly on Switch (had to turn off gyro though as it was giving me motion sickness  )

Pokémon Sword. I’ve just beaten the last gym and about to head to Wyndon but there’s yet another Pokeyman with a 1% chance of spawning to catch on the way.

Why does every area have to have that handful of Mon that are rarer than hens teeth? I wish there was an item that increased spawn rates, like in FF4 there was an item called Siren that would automatically spawn the rarest monster in the area.

It really was pretentious nonsensical hipster bollocks wasn't it? I was so disappointed by this game.

Yeah I was a bit gutted! Didn’t pay full price for it but wanted to support a more ‘off beat’ project and it slapped me back in the face.

Oh no, is it really that bad? I was planning on buying it soon, I liked the look of it.

I've been playing Peglin recently after seeing someone play it on youtube; although it's still Early Access I've been having a lot of fun with it!

If there's one thing I could never confess; it's that I can't dance a single step!

Why not watch maybe the first 90 minutes, see what you think? I wish I did.

I liked the look of it, and given the types of games I typically like, it seemed like a safe bet.

I was wrong, It's proper shite. Pretentious nonsense.

Playing through Resident Evil 3 remake, at the moment having never played the original. I'm definitely enjoying it, but it's not as good as the remake of 2 is it? The cut scenes are fun, but I think it suffers from being much linear and action focused in comparison to Resi 2. Also, I thought Nemesis was going to be like Mr X from 2 but worse....but because it's always scripted sequences it's really nowhere near as nerve wracking as Mr X was.

Still, definitely enjoying it. Jill is great. Shame it's so short judging by playtimes I've seen.

Me too, I thought it was going to be right up my street but I gave up around the third chapter. Just couldn't be bothered with how off beat and pretentious it was.

Disagree on Firewatch though Buff, the ending really grew on me afterwards on reflection.

I guess I found it a bit anti-climatic, which I suppose is a testament to the great character and world building, the writing was really sharp. Didn’t the devs get bought by Microsoft and make maps for Gears of War or some gooseberry fool like that?
EDIT - swallowed up by Valve. Even better.

Yeah, Buff had a terrible take on Firewatch, but was so on point with KRZ I was happy to let it slide.
