Yeah, I forgot just how great Dishonored is, I’m spending ages just exploring the first main mission area, helping out Granny Rags  was trying to go for a non lethal approach but that has long since gone out the window.

I tried non lethal and would have succeeded but there is a mission with a pistol duel. I didn’t realise this would count as a kill!

POP The Lost Crown (Switch). I'm enjoying it but I'm not a sword n slash fan. Most will love it but after playing Metroid Dread I'd rather be playing Metroid Dread 2. I'll persevere though as I'm enjoying the exploration side of it. It also plays crazy smooth and looks gorgeous.

Fallout New Vegas

Started this about 6 months ago before getting frustrated at about 5 hours in and dropping it. I Have now resumed this game (spurred on by the TV series) and am absolutely loving it. Just making my way on to the strip and doing jobs for The King. I now have a companion (Veronica) who pulverises just about everything in our way (but still nets me the XP).

Won my first set earlier. Was so satisfying to reach a point where I knew I had enough items to near enough guarantee that I could do over the dealer without them getting another turn after so many deaths on my side.

Still yet to try double or nothing mode, but looking forward to it.

If anyone else fancies giving it a try, there's a free web version as well: https://buckshotroulette.com/home

Quite enjoying playing Dead Island 2 - except for the bloody 'zombie grabbing you' animation every 30 seconds.

Crypt Stalker (Switch)
A speedy Castlevania (1-3 era), for both bad and good. Good because it's a speedy Castlevania! However, the speed makes some of the jumping trickier than it should. Also, the swinging jump mechanic is fairly inconsistent (the whip doesn't always hook on), which has resulted in a majority of deaths. There's no saving between stages either (old school authentic!), so it'll be one I'll be dipping in and out of to finish.

Celeste (Switch)
As Crypt Stalker didn't fully grab me by the proverbial, I've started into this. Three chapters in and I'm loving it! Coming recently from Guacamelee there's some familiarity, so not finding it too difficult so far (though I haven't been going for all the strawbs!). Also, the fact I can save on each screen makes it great for progress and to just pick up and play.

The Forest Queen on POP TLC is kicking my ass. I just cant get anywhere with this pain in the bum boss. I'm at the stage where I'm considering starting another game as I hate frustrating boss battles.

Made a start on the Eastward Octopia DLC, so far it seems ok? Fees like I’ve got to temper my expectations somewhat as it was only just over £4 at launch.

So I’m playing that on my Switch and playing Harold Halibut on my Series X, which I’m really enjoying.

Edit, the Eastward DLC feels like a slightly slower paced Stardew Valley, which is nice to be honest as that was my main complaint about that (I'll give it one last go when the 1.6 update comes to the Switch), not really sure if there is an end goal other than slowly building up your town, so probably something I'll put a bit of time into every now and then rather than do it all in one go, although if I've got most of it done in a month, it'd be ideal timing for when TTYD comes out.

Edit, the more I play of the Eastward DLC, the more like a Stardew lite clone it feels, the days feel just as quick as quick, it also more or less copies the stamina system (but it does go down slower, I think), problem is there isn't a load to do in a day, money is short unless you get lucky and find salt each day, so most days are spent fishing and harvesting rock/wood, there is barely anyone to talk to though, sp it actually feels quite dull sadly, which is a shame as the base game was packed of character, not sure if I'll carry on with this, was only £4 after all, so not a huge loss from the monetary side of things.

I probably sound picky as anything between this and Stardew  Still planning on giving Stardew one last go once the 1.6 patch drops on Switch.

The Excavation Of Hob´s Barrow

I am absolutely loving this. The tone, the uneasiness, the vocal performances, the sprite art, the complexity level - everything.

Does anyone know of any other games that scratch this itch? The UK centric setting is definitely a big part of the draw for me.

Oh I'm really looking forward to this, added it to my library last week when I subscribed to Humble! :msgreen:

I played Kathy Rain last year and would recommend it. No idea how the two compare but KR is another point and click with a female lead, great sprites and a mysterious tale of eldritch intrigue. Set in America though so more of a Twin Peaks feel.

That's Wadjet Eye Games' whole back catalogue really. I've only played The Shivah aside from Hob's Barrow but I think Technobabylon and Unavowed are both meant to be very good as well.

I do need to get back to Hob's Barrow, I think I'm in the final third.

Thanks for the replies both.

I have played Kathy Rain years back on my iPad and really enjoyed it. Very simple but effective.

I know Wadjet Eye to be leaders in this field, but I don't know if any of their other games have the "almost cosy and yet consistently unsettling" vibe that can only come from the UK setting. Maybe I need to do some research on that for myself.

Kind of given up on the Eastward: Octopia DLC, it's ok but kind of dull, was hoping for something charming and whacky like the main game was, but alas it wasn't to be.

Now just focusing on Harold Halibut, despite the fact its just running around the ship and talking, it's very enjoyable.

I finally finished Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen and was going to give NG+ a go to make sure I get the all side quests trophy but I feel I’ve had enough of it for now.

I gave Pillars of Eternity 2 a quick go last night and it seems fun so far. I immediately regretted not making the first guy that joins me a rogue as right away there’s a quest where you have to disable a bunch of traps but I just left it and came back after recruiting a rogue in a nearby town.

I’ve gathered all the folk I need on the beach so next I’ll be exploring the town and the surrounding area a little more. One thing I’ve noticed is while I know it’s very early there doesn’t seem quite as much depth to the side quests as the first game or maybe I’m just not asking the right questions.

Monster Hunter Rise - Sunbreak - Switch - after years of not playing Rise on the switch I bought it digitally with the Sunbreak add on.

Took a while to get back into but now I'm enjoying it and slowly progressing. Switch Axe is my weapon of choice .

Wish my image sig would work

Aside from Final Fantasy XIV (which I will admit I've been playing bit less due to friends wanting to do other stuff which I get, been doing stuff with them in other games too) I've bene playing Grim Dawn on PC.

It's fantastic. Tried their other game Titan Quest with two of my friends and one wasn't really enjoying it and I wanted us to enjoy the game together so when he told us about Grim Dawn me and my other friend bought it and got hooked quite quick, I have three characters - solo one, another one to play with both said friends, and another one to play with a friend when other friend wants to do something else.

I'm on case 2 of Phoenix Wright Justice for all. Played this before, I thought it was the worst one out of the three, probably the worst of the games I've played in the series.

I'm not feeling any different about it. It's decent enough, it just doesn't flow very well, the logic is just weird at points and it feels like the game should be giving you some more direction. The first one does this a lot better.

Haven't even got to that circus case yet :dread:

The game is worth it for the last case which is one of the best.
