It seems really good so far (just played another hour or so). The combat gets quite chaotic, bit the core system seems sound enough to account for it. There’s a nice bit of strategy in there, but it’s all so fast moving it feels very organic and not like you are agonising over choices.

South Park - The Fractured but whole

Playing this on PS5. Bought it a long time ago but only ever played the stick of truth which came free. I got into that but then lost interest.

This is excellent so far. Beautifully animated, amazing voice acting and it is really easy to play and enjoy.

Wish my image sig would work

I've not played any kind of MMORPG since WoW just made 2 years of my life disappear, but both Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 have tempted me due to how much I enjoy the single player games, and the fact they are on Game Pass. How 'grindy' is 76? I know you do a lot of base building in it, and I'm really enjoying that in Fallout 4.

Fallout 76 can be pretty grindy, Grin - depending on how you choose to play the game. The daily/weekly missions/objectives are repeated but you only have to tackle them when you want to. I've barely done any actual missions as I prefer to walk around and build camps.

I dabbled in ESO over the course of a few years and that's terrific albeit I struggle to understand roles and battling in MMOs.

As they're both on Game Pass you have nothing to lose and I'd recommend trying both :-).

I'm about 2 hours into Neo TWEWY, and I'm loving it.

I was worried that they wouldn't manage to recreate the same feeling that the first one gave me, but I already love the cast, the revamped world, and the much better battle system.

Are you playing on Japanese or English?

The English voices seemed pretty good in the demo but I don't know if there's an overall consensus on which might be better overall?

I went for Japanese. I haven't heard any of the English voices, so I'm afraid I can't weigh in.

Honestly though, Square Enix's English voice casts have been pretty good in recent memory.

Loaded up Bioshock remastered to see what further improvements they made since it got released and I think it looks swell now, excellent. Shame they’ve ruined some of the audio volumes and the game regularly crashes :fp:
Smashed through it on a new game plus mode which was a very welcome surprise - before the splicers become bullet sponges at Apollo Square onwards it was a click of the fingers to a big old fiery death with the levelled up Incinerate plasmid, very satisfying.
Loaded up Bioshock 2 hoping for the same thrill ride being all jacked up, and a new game plus mode is completely missing :fp:

The cut scenes are fun, but I think it suffers from being much linear and action focused in comparison to Resi 2. Also, I thought Nemesis was going to be like Mr X from 2 but worse....but because it's always scripted sequences it's really nowhere near as nerve wracking as Mr X was.

Still, definitely enjoying it. Jill is great. Shame it's so short judging by playtimes I've seen.

Finslly got round to finishing this. Shame it doesn't have two campaigns but i really enjoyed it. Nemesis got much less scary as he got more grotesque and it never really hit the tension or heights of Resi 2. Still, i had a lot of fun with it.

Been playing Fable Anniversary for the first time, after not really enjoying the first couple of hours I’m happy to say it really has now. Currently going to sacrifice some poor chap just so I can have a better bow  I’ve just done the arena section, no idea how far I’m through the game but I’ve just hit 11 hours. Spent the last bit of time helping some guy snd his chickens out with a ghost. Some of the music in this too

Devil May Cry 5 - Special Edition - PlayStation 5

Bought this in the current digital sale. I've already finished it and done everything on PS4 Pro but the update adds some new things so I started again with a new save.

I decided to dive into the new ultra hard mode which had tons of enemies on screen. Great for red orbs but I died quickly so instead went back to easy mode and the first level. Finished that and now on normal mode and will keep going up a difficulty level with each playthrough until the new mode and by then I should have every upgrade unlocked.

Probably the best pure action game ever made. Up there with Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta 2.

So I'm now really, REALLY enjoying Fallout 4. I have a ridiculous backlog of games, so usually I'm quite focused on playing through the campaign of things and not messing about with much else, but I think I've put about 30 hours in and not been to Diamond City yet. Some games just suck me into situation where I feel like I put a hundred or more hours in for the 'prep' before I even properly start to play. MGSV did it too with Mother Base, and my time in Fallout 4 so far reminds me a lot of No Man's Sky where I was just gathering blueprints and resources, and setting bases up just right in order to fund my adventure.

Sanctuary is a little messy right now as it's sort of been used to get used to all the settlement building stuff, but now I've got a nice little set up that produces plenty of purified water, along with the other bits for crafting jet which both earn very good caps, as well as producing adhesive which you need a ton of for crafting. I've also made another little water purification settlement around the boat house.

I bought Death Stranding (£12 from CEX) in preparation for the Directors Cut PS5 upgrade. Ended up starting the PS4 version and got hooked. I'll probably be done with it by the time the PS5 version comes out at the end of the month! :fp:

Youngest has been getting into games more recently and so we wanted something fun that he could play (with help from me if needed!) so put him onto New Super Lucky's Tale courtesy of Game Pass.

It's an old school 3D platformer of the N64 era style and it's actually really quite enjoyable! Controls well, looks cute, has some fun dialog in a way that avoids the sort of cringe angle that the likes of Yooka Laylee fell into, and overall it's just very enjoyable to play. A good test with these things I've been finding is whether I actively choose to continue playing them when one of my kid's stop playing, and after our first session on this ended I went back and played through all of the levels he'd done so far to mop up a bunch of stuff that he had missed so I'd call that a ringing endorsement!

I’m playing this occasionally and am really enjoying. It’s certainly not very challenging (at least to the point I have reached), but I’m not sure i really want it to be. It’s very relaxing and “nice”.

Yeah I think "nice" is a great descriptor for it. It's a very easy going, laid back sort of game!

Still playing through ME3 which in all honesty, is not really grabbing me. I'll finish it up quickly I think.

More Overcooked and were going to start Overcooked 2 tomorrow. We've dubbed the dash move as "poot zoom".
