Cloudpunk was on sale on the ps store, and I always wanted to try it. Was waiting for it to drop under 10, but that is never the case.

It seems like the perfect game to just chill and play. Spent a couple of hours on it doing some deliveries and just hovering around with my "car" Its nothing to shout about, and I might never touch it again, but I found it quite charming.

Been wanting to give that a try too and it’s available on disc. Boomerang, baby.

Its definitely worthy of a rental, I dont have an idea how it opens up but it can be enjoyable for a couple of hours

Is this your first play of the game, Gem? I only dabbled with the opening hour or so and it seemed pretty cool.

I'm playing Fallout 76 (no surprise there) on PS4 but also the odd game of Grindstone on Switch; it really is a great puzzler with some excellent chilled tunes.

Played through TLoU on PS3. Fancied playing it again so picked up the remaster.

I've FO 76 installed on the Series S but I've not been back to it in a while. In fact I've turned off the reoccurring bill for Game Pass as I'm just not using it enough.

I've just started Katana Zero as it's leaving Game Pass soon, and I've literally just done about 20 minutes at lunch time, but so far I really, really like it. I don't get on with a lot of Indie games where they sort of base themselves on how games used to be. I pretty much sucked at games when they still revolved around that sort of arcade style experience of trying to see how far you could get before being killed. These days, where I don't just have one or two games a year to focus on, I'm even less inclined to play those sort of things. Maybe it will be less forgiving further into the game, but I love that you're not losing much progress each time you fail in this.

Spent far too much time playing mechwarrior 5. I played the older games, but skipped it on gamepass for way too long. I have no idea why.

The controls are solid, it is seriously challenging. The AI team mates are pretty poor and you need them. It can get a bit grindy in the middle when you need money/bigger mechs as going for hard missions is really difficulty. But I am addicted, the missions are great fun, a mix of skill and strategy (which mechs to tank damage In your squad, which mechs you kill first, where to get cover). It is a great game, but it’s not short. I think I’m only 1/2 way but have put 30 hours in. I’m quite enjoying the change from pure strategy in xcom 2.

At my daughters request I played some more TLoU Remastered today. It remains a really good game even if the gameplay mechanic is a touch repetitive. What made it particularly entertaining was my daughter laughing at how slow Joel runs from the infected (see other thread) and the times Ellie would get in the bloody way when I'm trying to climb a ladder or ledge with infected all over the place, both of which had me ranting at the TV.

"Well at least he moves a little faster than the girl from Resident Evil, dad...CLICKER!"

Yeah it was a lot of fun. :toot:

It is bizarre, but also very funny. More so for the fact that Molly has a wonderful laugh. Playing Resident Evil 2 was a blast with me shouting at Claire Redfield to get her arse in gear while being chased by lickers and Mr X while my daughter is in hysterics screaming "Not that way! NO other way you tool!"

Took all the tension out of the game, but made it fun in another way.

Walking Dead Saints and Sinners on the Quest 2.

Its far scarier than i expected it to be. Also, its very good. Panic rarely comes through clearly playing a regular flat screen game, but in VR a frantic revolver reload etc is very much part of the experience.

About 3 hours in and its clearly the most polished game i have played on the Quest (and quite possibly in VR at all).

Picked up Golf Story on sale for half price - so far it's exactly what I was hoping for - some decent 2d golf with a lot of little secret dopamine hits!

Yakuza 5- The same problem as Yakuza 4 where if you're going to have multiple playable characters, I think it works better if you switch back and forth between everyone like Yakuza 0. You finish few chapters with a character in this and then you don't see them again until the finale which given how dense this game is, is a long time off. 23 hours in and I've just got to the third playable character which has killed all pacing.

I don't know who thought multiple hours of creepy rhythm games were a good idea. It's like one of the devs tried to hide this in the middle of the game and hoped the bosses wouldn't notice.

The Wii!

We've had some good night's recently as a family playing Wii Sports Resort, a stone cold multiplayer classic. I also dug out Ghost Squad and realized just how much I miss playing lightgun games.

Everyone always laughs when I tell them Red Steel is as good as I remember but it is genuinely one of the best 2-player local multiplayer shooters ever made. Games like Halo are amazing but built for large player numbers. There are precious few really good mano-a-mano FPS games on the market.

I also got back into some classics like Skyward Sword, Prime 3 and Sin and Punishment.

With Nintendo's love of releasing old stuff, it's crazy to me they haven't re-released Wii Sports on Switch, even with the janky motion controls. Guess it might be weird to charge for it given it was free before but whatevs.

Castlevania - Advance Collection - Switch - tried all 3 of the games and I'm enjoying them. Third is the best so far and most like SOTN. I expect to lose a lot of time to these games.

Far Cry 6 - probably the most ubisoft game yet. Massive space to explore and do some things, some of which are fun. I like the combat and the weapons. It's a time killer, more of a thing to do rather than a great way to spend time.

Wish my image sig would work
